Bad Weather Solo Wild Camping with Catch and Cook

- Join me as I head out for a solo wild camping trip in some pretty bad weather.
After setting up camp and preping some fire wood, I put the fishing rod togehter and catch a trout, which I cook up over the campfire.

much of this nil talking is v relaxing - well put together
This proves that 'adventure is made', it doesn't have to be a mountain top slog or marathon canoe trip. It starts in the mind's eye with imagination.
I'm catching up on episodes that I missed watching somehow. Another beautiful spot you found there. Poppy is such a good girl! I just adore that she wears her own back pack and how she knows that when you take yours off, hers will come off as well. Thanks for sharing your camp with us.

I especially like that you seem to rely on/prefer Firesteel as your method of starting a fire. MEeee to, anytime. anyplace.

G'day, Matt. Good to see you out and about, and with Poppy again. She shows some really good sense in making for the warmth of the tent and the thermal mattress! If you'd brought beer with you, I don't reckon you would have needed to chill it down in the water - that wind sounded strong and the weather looked really brisk!!! You certainly do enjoy some extreme wilderness when you hike into your camping sites! Unfortunately, I'm a bit past that sort of thing now, due to old(er) age, and some mobility difficulties, but I still get away with the missus whenever possible, and we caravan off-grid whenever possible. It's always a lot of fun, and our youngest daughter, her hubby, and 3 kids accompany us a lot of the time. So, with 4 adults, 3 kids, and 3 dogs, we certainly have some noise going on, and many, many good memories being made. Catch you in your next video.

Great video, looked quite peaceful after the wind. I loved hearing all the birds in the morning, you can't beat it. Spam and scrambled egg wrap, thats an interesting breakfast :D

Beautiful video, truly loved it, you and your companion make a great team. Animals are amazing, they are such great companions and so intelligent. I have a little chihuahua and we have been together for almost 14 years, we go everywhere together as well. I just can't leave him home alone. Love from Australia to you and your beautiful companion. Super video Matt, just getting into wild camping myself. I camped in the Wicklow Mountains last weekend and the weather turned ferocious overnight with rain & gusts but the MSR hubba hubba I have was excellent (same as yours) and stood up to it no problems..

Hi mate, so yeah I really like it, ive been using it for over a year now and I cant fault it. Used it in some really bad weather too. Its not as lightweight as say a gortex jacket but yeah deffs recommend it 😁👍

What fishing rod do you use mate?
So I mix it between the rigged and ready X5 and fish rig 180 depending on where I am going.
