- Join me as I head out for a solo wild camping trip with my dog.
After hiking into a remote loch, we set up camp on a beach, practice some bushcraft skills to light a campfire and catch and cook some nice trout.

I don't think it would be possible to find a better campsite than that one Matt. It had everything you could wish for excluding the midgies that's for sure. Your fishing exploits are really coming alive and hunger pangs exploded when you ate them. Stunning sunset looking through the pines. Great to see Poppy enjoying the camp as well. Hi Alan, thank you mate, glad you are enjoying them 😁. Yeah I'll do a run through on it on a video soon. But if you want to check out the rod I'm using its the X5 travel rod from rigged and ready. @@ADVENTUREISMADE we haven’t done any wild camping as yet, but we live in Preston so not far from Scotland. Spinning for mackeral on hols is great so looking forward to having a go for trout.

I'm planning on doing one soon mate. But that mat I took for Poppy is just a cheap foil mat for her. It's good as it doesn't absorb water like the one I use to take for her 👍🏻

Hi Steve, thanks mate! So they are the Vivobarefoot FG trackers. They are quite expensive, but I do really like them and this is my second pair now, but if I'm being honest, they are only a 3 season boot at most and I'll be getting a different boot for my winter trips for now on. Good video and what a spot to camp - looked amazing less the midge. Where was it? Can you say? Quick question, with the midge I take it there is no way you would take your Smokey Hut or Laavu? Assuming they will get in as there is no inner fly
Thanks Ed. I'd prefer not to say tbh mate. No mate, laavu is way too heavy for these sort of trips and yeah definitely need a tent with a inner to keep the bugs away 👍🏻

Hi Dale, I don't use bait mate, I use a mix of different lures. Think I was using a mepps black fury on this trip. Haha. I'm from the north east mate, Stockton on Tees 👍🏻

Out of interest you don't seem to use the Zpak dyneema tent much. Can you provide a bit of an update/review on how you have found it compared to a more traditional sil nylon tent like the MSR? I take my dog on hunting trips. Interested in how it performs with the dog, in wet conditions etc.
Yeah I've been keeping it for the more lightweight trips but will be using it soon in a couple of videos. But I really like it, you get some condensation in it, especially if your dog gets wet through the day. But it's extremely light and can withstand bad weather well. Something else I don't really like. Is that the mesh door just lays on the floor when its open so has a potential to be damaged, especially by a dog with their claws. I'll do a proper review on it soon mate 👍🏻

How is the MSR Hubba holding up? Do you like it for particulary camping in Scotland?
Yeah love it. No not particularly Scotland. But most of my tent trips will either be that or my Zpacks Free Duo. But it's holding up great 😁👍🏻
@@ADVENTUREISMADE I recently looked at a lot of tents to replace my old one but after a lot of research I'm back where I started, the Hubba Hubba. Not because it is particulary outstanding in one area but just because it is overall a really great tent:)

Hi mate. Its a fantastic tent, I'll be using mine on the next few trips I go on. Just mainly keep it for the longer trips. So yeah no reason. Just been enjoying taking the MSR out 👍🏻
