Nice looking oak. I was up there that morning. Sat in my truck for a bit. Forgot my ear protection and there were already some visitors there. Might be up again. Thanks Mark
Beautiful wood. Even the lower graded boards. Thanks Mark, Ed, Pete, & the mystery guy. Tell ZZ to get well & my daily prayers to his health. 😑🙏 I missed him. ( My best friend/ small farmer gets ticks all the time. Both him & his wife looks for ticks. 😖🙄🤔😬😑😔🙏) 😍😊😉👍❤️💜🙏
Five o’clock in the morning them are nice boards make a good trailer floor hard wearing, having an early start cutting firewood before we go and dismantle a milking parlour another farmer giving up milking , you guys have a nice day
I've cut down oak trees for firewood, and fresh has a great smell to it, and have used it to cook steaks and chicken and the smoke has a great smell to it. I love everything about trees and its one of the greatest natural resource.
That would have made some lovely qs/rift lumber. We used to square a log, then bring out to cant such that you cut through the pith and produce two large cants. If you have a good touch, you stop your line just before passing through the log. You reverse the carriage and pop the cant with the turner … separating it back onto the log deck. Lastly, you use the turner to bump the cant back on the deck to the half moon and secure it from moving.😂
HI MARK that is a nice white oak log when U find them like that ,that did saw some nice boards how boards did U saw in all there was a many rail road ties sawed from logs like many years ago U had 2 have rail road ties 4 the train tracks MARK alot lumber will stain like that quick U have 2 stack the lumber it has 2 have air and sunshine ☀ 2 dry like it's suppose 2 keep it from bowing and twisting 😊😊 OMG 7 13 2O23
U don't find many white or red oak logs like any more when U do its a bonus and a plus that's when U can really saw great lumber in a day's time OMG 7 13 2O23
Si hermoso rollo, una lástima que se termina sacando tablas angostas, cuando se tendría que aprovechar y sacar más tablas anchas que tienen más valor y se venden más...
dear mark and eddie i have a lot of catching up to do on ya'lls videos.i've been in the hospital for the last 3 mos.they found cancer in my colin.after i heal from this i have to go back to have a kidney removed.your videos are still great.
Oak tannins react on ferrous and nonferrous metals, about the only thing he could do is to put a Teflon coating and that won’t hold up to the “Booms” or rubbing from turning the logs for very long.
Just curious as to why you go to the trouble of having that guy trim the spurs off with the chainsaw? That's gonna come off anyway in the slab of the adjoining face or in an edger strip off of a board from the adjoining face.
It appears to me that the new edger is slower cut speed than the edger it replaced? You certainly make quick work of any logs that get to your mill. Ray Stormont
Hello Mark; what would you recommend for board and bat siding on a cabin? I live over here in east Ohio. I will need about 210 l/f of horizontal coverage to go around the cabin and 8’ of vertical to cover. Id prefer 8” to 10” wide. And is that something you could supply?
I have a few questions . How deep does the tanic acid stain go into wood and you mentioned the log would have to be moved if you had a mecanical breakdown . Would it damage wood or carage steel?
@@markgalicic7788 yes, but i meant the central heart part that you discarded at the end. It will probably not stay cery straight when drying but is also nice wood.
This is a great job! Even the two grandpas are doing great with their age.
THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL LOG.
thanks Larry.

How much should I sale white oak for as firewood
Nice log! And great man glitter!

More great sawing again, Mark. I think I have an idea of what you could use that crappy lumber for (lol).
Bill
thanks Bill, we may have some logs for you soon.
Nice, easy end to a rare day off.

To bad they all weren't as nice as this one!! 🙏👌👍
not too many like this one but that's ok .

I really enjoyed that one. No barrel sawing. But don't get me wrong, I'll like barrel sawing too.
I like that a lot. I do enjoy boards with knots though.
Boom, happy Friday Eve from Durham UK.
thanks Mark , BOOM!
Congleton 68k! Truly a beauty of a stick! Ever tried getting man-glitter when the log holder was going in reverse?
thanks Artemus.
Rusty vinegar ages white oak beautifully. It usually turns a nice grey.
I have tried that before works great!
Very nice mill. The cutting is very therapeutic so I personally don’t need the high speed.
beautiful wood you are sawing.
thanks Jerry.
That was a nice oak log

I like it lol!
Have you ever sawed up a turkey? Now that you said it we are expecting it. Frozen is ok, use the pumpkin jig.
no sir very dangerous.
That had to be one of the straightest and almost perfectly round big logs I've seen on the mill.
yes for sure.
Good video Bus Motor Productions

Can you not treat/paint the carriage to prevent the chemical rusting reaction from the oak tannins?
Beautiful log#1❤

Great videos, I've been watching a few of your videos lately. What will the better grade boards be used for?

yes it's slower but cuts perfect lumber.

Muito bom o trabalho de vocês madeiras boas falo aqui do Brasil
For that beautiful oak tree RIP means "rest in pieces".
Mesin kayu yang luar biasa ,nice vidios

not deep when sawing but a few hours very deep.
thanx for expl. where those black marrs in the beutious oak come from...JW
your welcome.
Hey Mark
Do you run the saw at different RPM's depending on spicies of wood?
no the blade is hammered to run at 600 rpm
I’m assuming the bus motor was loving that one
Where are u located. I would love to visit u. I am a forester in NC . I do wood working as a hobby.
4/4 is one inch rough cut and 13/16 finished
no sir.
It is over an inch to let it shrink when air drying
Hi Mark, What do you use those large pit pieces for? Carpentry, roofing?
Cheers to the team
this is high grade white oak good for cabinet making , furniture ect.
@@markgalicic7788 yes, but i meant the central heart part that you discarded at the end. It will probably not stay cery straight when drying but is also nice wood.
Do the head blocks get damaged from the tannic acid as well as marring the wood?
if you let it set for a long time.
That black is ferric tannate or common black ink.
