I've cut down oak trees for firewood, and fresh has a great smell to it, and have used it to cook steaks and chicken and the smoke has a great smell to it. I love everything about trees and its one of the greatest natural resource.
Five o’clock in the morning them are nice boards make a good trailer floor hard wearing, having an early start cutting firewood before we go and dismantle a milking parlour another farmer giving up milking , you guys have a nice day
HI MARK that is a nice white oak log when U find them like that ,that did saw some nice boards how boards did U saw in all there was a many rail road ties sawed from logs like many years ago U had 2 have rail road ties 4 the train tracks MARK alot lumber will stain like that quick U have 2 stack the lumber it has 2 have air and sunshine ☀ 2 dry like it's suppose 2 keep it from bowing and twisting 😊😊 OMG 7 13 2O23
U don't find many white or red oak logs like any more when U do its a bonus and a plus that's when U can really saw great lumber in a day's time OMG 7 13 2O23
That would have made some lovely qs/rift lumber. We used to square a log, then bring out to cant such that you cut through the pith and produce two large cants. If you have a good touch, you stop your line just before passing through the log. You reverse the carriage and pop the cant with the turner … separating it back onto the log deck. Lastly, you use the turner to bump the cant back on the deck to the half moon and secure it from moving.😂
dear mark and eddie i have a lot of catching up to do on ya'lls videos.i've been in the hospital for the last 3 mos.they found cancer in my colin.after i heal from this i have to go back to have a kidney removed.your videos are still great.
Hello Mark; what would you recommend for board and bat siding on a cabin? I live over here in east Ohio. I will need about 210 l/f of horizontal coverage to go around the cabin and 8’ of vertical to cover. Id prefer 8” to 10” wide. And is that something you could supply?
It appears to me that the new edger is slower cut speed than the edger it replaced? You certainly make quick work of any logs that get to your mill. Ray Stormont
I have a few questions . How deep does the tanic acid stain go into wood and you mentioned the log would have to be moved if you had a mecanical breakdown . Would it damage wood or carage steel?
@@markgalicic7788 yes, but i meant the central heart part that you discarded at the end. It will probably not stay cery straight when drying but is also nice wood.
My control room was air conditioned only because of the protection of the electronics inside ; My personal comfort was of no concern by the owner of the sawmill’s owner : I consistently cut more than 100, 000 board feet of lumber every shift and I had had to sit on a 5 gallon bucket with a 8X12 board for a seat until I had the furniture delivery truck set the owner’s brand new $1,290.00 dollar leather office chair placed into my control room . !! Then he asked me why I did that ? I replied “ My A$$ is hurting from sitting on a hard board “ . He said “ Get your own damn chair “ ; and he paid me for getting a $30.00 chair from a WW II Library Ship .! £uck him . I made him over million dollars , net profit , in less than 2 years !!!!!!

Eddie is one tough guy. Most people have no concept of what those big boards weigh.
Rusty vinegar ages white oak beautifully. It usually turns a nice grey.
I have tried that before works great!
More great sawing again, Mark. I think I have an idea of what you could use that crappy lumber for (lol).

Really nice oak , great video be safe,
thank you.
Great videos, I've been watching a few of your videos lately. What will the better grade boards be used for?
thank you , they will be used for cabinets and furniture.
For that beautiful oak tree RIP means "rest in pieces".
dear mark and eddie i have a lot of catching up to do on ya'lls videos.i've been in the hospital for the last 3 mos.they found cancer in my colin.after i heal from this i have to go back to have a kidney removed.your videos are still great.
That would have been a good quarter swan log .
yes with a band mill for sure.

yes , I would recommend hemlock for that . email me at markgalicic@verizon.net please.
It appears to me that the new edger is slower cut speed than the edger it replaced? You certainly make quick work of any logs that get to your mill. Ray Stormont
yes it's slower but cuts perfect lumber.
@@markgalicic7788 You are prescience you just answered my next question (Is quality higher), Thanks for taking the time to respond. Ray
thanx for expl. where those black marrs in the beutious oak come from...JW
your welcome.
I have a few questions . How deep does the tanic acid stain go into wood and you mentioned the log would have to be moved if you had a mecanical breakdown . Would it damage wood or carage steel?
not deep when sawing but a few hours very deep.
ouch.thats a widow-maker log
Do the head blocks get damaged from the tannic acid as well as marring the wood?
if you let it set for a long time.
Hey Mark
Do you run the saw at different RPM's depending on spicies of wood?
no the blade is hammered to run at 600 rpm
Where are u located. I would love to visit u. I am a forester in NC . I do wood working as a hobby.
Veneer quality?
So when you are cutting 4/4 what is the actual measurement
1-1/8" so it will be over one inch when dry.
Have you ever hit a nail or any metal just asking
Hi Mark, What do you use those large pit pieces for? Carpentry, roofing?
Cheers to the team
this is high grade white oak good for cabinet making , furniture ect.
@@markgalicic7788 yes, but i meant the central heart part that you discarded at the end. It will probably not stay cery straight when drying but is also nice wood.
Clear as mud. I will let you do the cutting of lumber. Just saying.
thanks Ronald.
Are they defects or are they Character?!
when graded out they are defects.
Mark. Did the laser die?
no sir.
Mark, you use the phrase magic number all the time. Please explain what that means.
maximum thickness the saw blade will cut
I see at least 9 6x6s
What happened to the kitty cats 🐈 🐱
the mother moved them out.
The BOOM Of DOOM
yes sir Tim.
Could you tell me what four quarter mean?
4/4"or 1 inch
