Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would become addicted to someone sawing logs. Something about it mesmerizes me. Keep 'em coming Mark.
I think the reason that it’s so mesmerizing is because each log is like “Christmas Morning”. It’s like opening a present and finding out what’s in the box.
Watching this video from a year ago reminded me that Eddie is really a pretty good looking man !! That big ol' bushy beard you're sporting now just makes you look OLD, Eddie !! Love these videos you guys turn out !! They're simply relaxing to watch as you turn out this lumber.
Thank you for the video. It brings back memories as a kid and going with my dad to the lumber yard and picking out boards to build with. He built a cherry coffee table and oak dinning room table. My dad was a talented carpenter. Heck he could do anything! I sure miss my mom and dad. I also miss the time I was born and raised…50’s and 60’s…thank you sir…
I love watching Sawmill videos. Like you said about your Dad. My Daddy could do anything. And he showed me how to do what he did. Saved me a lot of money over the years. My Father in law was a drywall contractor and painter. He showed me how to do that, so that saved me money too. Bought a house, remodeled it, and built on to it. Knowing how to do the work saved me 1000s. I miss my Daddy every day. Dan 🇺🇸
17:45 you said, "I'm gonna take that top face off, that's not square at all there." Then you went and turned that not square face down on the table. 😆 No wonder ya got shingles outta that! I was over here yelling, "One more turn!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣
Big old pine makes the bus motor speak like a big old oak. Won't be much to the pump rebuild. Good sawing and the computer went to get fixed this a.m. and I have your and John's stuff and THANKS!! GBWYall
Why I'd rather watch this other than a first run movie or some random Netflix series, I'll never know....but I do, and I enjoy it Mark and T.H.E. Eddie!!!
Stay safe in the heat! A friend of mine is a logger. His name is... Tim Burr! I was in State College a couple weeks ago and loved the smell of the country. Different from the NJ burbs of NYC!
Another great sawing video, Mark. Eddie with an axe? Just don't get him mad! In the old days they used a two man cross cut saw. You guys need a giant two man drawknife to remove the bark before you saw (lol). Stay safe. Bill
I’m surprised that bark didn’t all fall off before the log got on the carriage, seeing how loose it was. I know most the logs you saw have much tighter bark than this one did. It wouldn’t make economic sense to get a debarker or even spend much time spudding off loose bark if logs like this are the exception and not the norm.
Love your videos Mark! Am I the only one who noticed at 17:42 when you said you wanted to take the top face off, you only rotated it twice, putting it on the blocks? That's where your out-of-square situation started! I'm just sitting here screaming at my computer at a video and nobody can hear me... :)
One advantage the circle mills have over the band mills. Dealing with knots in spruce and pine. No blade deflection in the circle mill, while the band mills have to deal with blade dive.
Mark if you would tell us what you are going for as far a size and numbers it would be so much more interesting to see how you get there. Love your videos. Let's see some edger boys.
I’ve been watching your program for months and never grow tired .

Right there with you!!! Really look forward to new ones!!

Be careful mabey a sawmill video could hypnotize you.
I watch and learn. Thanks

I've been seeing some interesting pieces with bark or flat with interesting shapes. I wonder were those would be used.
This must be my fourth or fifth time watch this log. Still entertaining, thanks.
Always watch all the way through the sawing videos. tks for sharing with us.
thanks.

Your cockpit looks like a Jedi Spaceship! haha ha ...
The strength of the machine that turns the trunks is impressive.
Much peace and light! Namaste!
yes it does.

thanks Chris.
I love watching you whittle down a large log.
thanks Garth.
Stay safe in the heat! A friend of mine is a logger. His name is... Tim Burr! I was in State College a couple weeks ago and loved the smell of the country. Different from the NJ burbs of NYC!
Don't worry about the camera. You are focused on what you are doing and it shows.
thanks John.
I thought it was outstanding. I have not seen a bad video. With wood you work with what you got.
You guys are doing great.
thanks Rickey.
I always used my peevy to clean the bark that's slipping before I start cutting
Really 3 people gave a thumbs down must have no life😂 another great video Gentlemen and please have a great rest of your day...
yes some people!
Well, there was a prince in there. Just had to kiss a few frogs to get there. Good work guys. 😎👍👀🍉
frogs & bark.
Those big gnarly male logs certainly do make you work to get the lumber out of them.
yes they do.
Ole Jimmy is liking that piece, governor is hoein into it
yes sir .
Merry Christmas 🎄 I love how you cut your wood.😅😅
Good stuff guys.
thanks.
Good Evening from South Africa.
good evening Dawid.
I enjoy watching your video's, you know how to cut a log
If you have a Masterdog then surely the rest are Underdogs.
Speed of lightning... Roar of thunder...Underdog...Underdog!
top dog and under dog?
I like that.

Bill
thanks Bill.
Looking at Marks arms he could probably use a 2 man cross cut saw by himself! Lol
John told me about your setup, impressive.
thanks Arthur.
You are so good
Greetings my friends, here a brazilian subscriber. All the best!
thanks for subscribing.
wow you had some trouble with that log but i couldn't turn away to find out how you were going to deal with it .enjoyed
yes most of it was bark under it.
Nice job of sawing
thanks Bob.
"Always fighting bark". Why not debark the loose stuff before you mill? That would be 2 mi utes well spent.
Gotta love them good old Pennsylvania Boys, Love your video's . What part of Pa. you from?
So satisfied
I always give you a thumbs up for you and your workers.😊Did you ever paint your engine?
👍👍 good video ‼️
thanks Dave.
I can't help but think how handy it would be to have a kicker to flip the log/cant towards you and not have to go all around the rosy.
we don't have more space on the knees to mount them with the dogs & tappers.
Why not cut parallel to the cracks ?
Must smell great there!
yes it does.
Thank you Mr. Galicic.
your welcome.
The best video
I've never seen a Sawyer take that much time to get through a log
I’m surprised that bark didn’t all fall off before the log got on the carriage, seeing how loose it was. I know most the logs you saw have much tighter bark than this one did. It wouldn’t make economic sense to get a debarker or even spend much time spudding off loose bark if logs like this are the exception and not the norm.
My wife doesn't understand why I enjoy your channel. It soothes the beast in me I guess.
that works.
What you need is a debarker!
no sir.
another question, will you trim the wide boards down or leave full width?
the wide ones will stay the full width.
Thanks so much!!!!
thanks for watching.
I tinker with amateur wood working. So satisfying to see the start of the process.
Mark and Eddie i was wondering what the largest and longest log you ever have sawed was and is their a video of it. Take care and God Bless.
we sawed a 23' long oak log.
How come you don't take the loose bark off before you start cutting the logs
When you say"19 or 20 1/2 is that the width of the log on the next pass?
I went with a 80v electric chainsaw to use around my mill. Works great, no fuel or starting. Just push a button and go.
Same reason I bought a 40v weed. Trimmer
S
What do your. Blocks open to
A good workout for the Masterdog!
yes sir.
Love your videos Mark! Am I the only one who noticed at 17:42 when you said you wanted to take the top face off, you only rotated it twice, putting it on the blocks? the bark under the log started it all.
hi mark and ed , where do you get your logs from and why so old?
tree service , they sat for a few months.
Is there a market for 18 and 19 in. Boards or do you run the really wide ones through the edger.
yes some people do want wide boards.
One advantage the circle mills have over the band mills. Dealing with knots in spruce and pine. No blade deflection in the circle mill, while the band mills have to deal with blade dive.
yes they do saw pine very flat.
Mark if you would tell us what you are going for as far a size and numbers it would be so much more interesting to see how you get there. Love your videos. Let's see some edger boys.
thanks we will.
Eddie needs a LONG pair of tongs!
good one.
I’m starting a new game based off of the Bob Game from the Bob Newhart Show. Every time you mention Frink’n Jeep, I take a drink.
good one.
I thought they was the underdogs lol
good one.
Maybe debark the logs that have loose bark like this one? Seem kinda obvious, no?
How heavy are those 1+20 foot slabs?
fun
yes it was.
Eddie should run the saw an you stack for a change. Could be interesting.
Eddie don't want not parts of sawing.
Isn't the wastage a little too much? I think the log is too big for the circular saw.
I would've said the small days were "puppy dogs".
Say, Mark Mabey you can get the Grease Monkey to look at the Bus motor.
good idea .
Was surprised at how little blue stain in that old log.
it was only down for six months and out of the sun but some do stain very fast.
You would be well advised to get the kiln done. When will you start?
yes it all takes time.
Did y'all pipe that Detroit exhaust out from under your work area?
yes sir.
I thought when you commented on the master dog, I was sure you were going to say the other dogs were wood puppies. 😊
I was thinking underdogs.
