Minnesota Rancher. Don't be ashamed to take that buck rack and give it the mount that it deserves. Some day your grandkids will ask you about it, and after you tell the story, they will think, ' wow, you were a deer hunter And a Wolf trapper!'. Great video. Keep it up!
Thanks for video . Very nice quality video , very informative content nice ❤ please more video with cooking recipes 🎉 thank for your work, Be careful and always smart Thanks
I don't know anything about furs but I find it interesting that there is a market for squirrel furs. Perhaps you could do a video talking about what some of the furs are used for these days... I enjoy you taking us around your trap line. Thanks for the videos.
Squirrel is a popular fur material used in the tying of artificial flies for fly fishing, it’s used in an awful lot of fly patterns as is rabbit fur. Fly tying on its own is quite a popular pastime, particularly outside the various fishing seasons.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll try to touch on that topic in future vids. I'm actually planning on keeping some squirrels after this season is through. I'll tan them and make some leather goods from the pelts. I'll film the process and various projects of course. Hoping to keep up with videos even after the trapping season is over. Take care!
Definitely interested in the wild game cooking videos! I always thought it would be awesome to cook a whole rabbit over a fire, like on a spit. My coworker brought in a squirrel he killed in his yard with a pellet gun, I was really curious what it tasted like while everyone else was grossed out. He gave me a leg and my first bit I bit into a lead pellet, lol. He was like "Oh crap, I forgot I needed two shots for that one!"
Good show Brother! Hope you catch some Wolves. I always enjoyed snaring Squirrels. I'm having trouble finding the good snare wire now. It's all too stiff. I laughed when you fell on your butt clearing trail because we've all done that! Thanks for sharing. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for sharing. Bring on the recipes!!! Snowshoe rabbits are my fav. We have a limit of 6 Marten in my state. No limit on fisher. It was a good year for me even with the warm weather to start the season. All the best. Have a great holiday. PeaceY
Huh, the registered fir management areas are an interesting concept. That’s actually a pretty cool way of doing it. Great video and congrats on the fisher!
Just catching up on all the videos my friend! Love them all take care and happy trapping! Just bought some snowmobiles so hopefully get a good line set up soon and hammer some bobcats and wolves
Merry Christmas to you and yours Ryley. That was a cracking looking Fisher that you got on the Marten loop, appeared to be larger than average? Hope you have success with the Lynx and the Wolves, presumably Grays are the common species in your part of the world… Another enjoyable episode in any event, wishing you success for the remainder of the season.
What does red squirrel ( pine squirrel) taste like? I make fried grey squirrel then simmer it in sour kraut for half hour about a dozen times every fall. Taste excellent.
I can tell it's awful cold there the way your wrapped up. It's real cold here in N W Arkansas. I can't even decorate my house because it's so cold to get outside . We have a chance of snow on Monday. Well is your name spelled Ryley or Riley ? It's nice to see you again. So you have caught your lunch. If that is government land, then they let you build your cabin on their land ? That coffee will warm you up. Thanks for sharing your video. Stay warm. Is that all from one squirrel? See ya !
Just wondering if the Crown Biologist live trap and then radio collar to track the fur bearers...here in Maine they do a radio collar program on black bear, which helps the state to decide which areas have high life cycles by bear den and cub counts...have you tried Crock Pot Rague? It was a fav of my grandfather during winter...he would fatten up the critters with peanuts in shells and then used an air rifle from the back deck to dispatch them🤣🤣🤣Cheers from Maine.
What a beautiful fisher! Good job. And my mouth was watering watching you eat those squirrel legs! haha Good luck on the wolves - can you tell by the tracks how many wolves are in the pack?
Oh, i forgot to add...one of the other trappers I follow always seems to do a lot better on the marten when the temps go up during the winter. It's like when it's -30 to -10 they don't move much but if it gets closer to zero they are out like crazy. Just a thought.
You’ve got a great channel startup, I liked the low key content and cooking of bush tucker, great video. Just a question, on your squirrel poles, what size wire and loop size do you use? Also, do you just twist your own squirrel snares?
Thanks! The squirrel wire is 26 gauge stainless steel wire. I make my loop size about 1 3/4". I'll be posting a video soon on squirrel trapping so stay tuned if you're interested!
Sony CX-405 It does an ok job. It has good enough auto focus & stabilization. The 60x zoom is really nice. Only downside is the autofocus makes sound that the mic picks up. Some clips you can hear the electronic sound. I'll probably upgrade my film setup for this channel in the warmer months of the year. For now it's good enough though. Thanks for watching.
What kind and size of wire do you use for your squirrel snares. I got my fingers crossed that your wolfs nerves will produce at least a few nice wolves. Good luck and God bless ✌️🇨🇦
@@KuskWild that is a pretty neat way to take them, here in Missouri we can take them with box trap or 110 body grips. I learned when I was just a kid trapping for mink. I was setting 110s on logs crossing creeks and up under root wads, and the edge of creeks were the banks are straight up. I would set them tight against the bank, I caught a few mink but I kept the family fed with squirrels and rabbits. I like watching you trap the country your in but I don’t think I could take the weather you deal with. Just about to cold here for me anymore.
ok, I got a bone to pick with you. I've got so much of my own work to do but you make these darn videoes so interesting and fun to watch that I don't get as much done as I should. Stop it!! Just kidding, keep up the good work.
Yes...please continue to show us how to trap and prepare meals and furs. This is something nobody else is doing.
WOW, Love your Channel, The Spirit of he Outdoors is Captured !!!

I never heard ANYTHING so crispy!!!
Riley rabbit and squirrel recipes would be great ! Awsome video by the way !!!
Most definitely!
Excellent video. Would love to see all sorts of wild game recipes and cooking techniques. Keep up the great work!
Would love some rabbit recipes, we don't have squirrels we have possums and bush rats. So some squirrel recipes will be good to know.
Good video
It's nice to see you getting some success with the fisher and squirrels.
Riley and his birb. Such a nice duo. And that shot of the full moon was magical.
would love to see the recipes for squirrels and rabbits! Great stuff!

Squirrel furs are also very cheap, so if you have a project you need nice fur, go for squirrels!
Would be interested to see you tan squirrels after the season is over
Always thumbs up 👍
Love the catch, clean and cook videos

Beautiful fisher! My personal favorite to catch here in Minnesota.

Great video. Getting squirrels is a good idea. Any signs for rabbit. Maybe try for those.
Thanks for the videos.
DEFINITELY 👍 some good squirrel recipes would be fantastic! Thank you for your content, Brother!!
Thanks for watching!
You should try adding CD's close by the Lynx sets to lure them in from a distance.
Yep .Do some game recipes , Stay Safe out there.
Another great video Ryley 👍
I'd love some more recipes!!

I really enjoy these vids. Looking forward to more. Best of luck for the trapping season.

I love to see cooking as a part of your videos. Probably cooking alone would not be that fun
Love that cabin squirrel poll set 🙂
Yes on the rabbit recipes and maybe over the camp fire. I am always looking for other ways to cook rabbit. That's probably my favorite meat
Don’t worry about eating the bones 🦴 those are some of my favorite parts
Always nice to get a fisher, i don’t get many maybe one or two a season, good luck out there, hope you snag some wolves etc
THE BEST )
About to get brutal cold. Maybe that will peak some interest in those bait sets.
Hoping so!!
Cook all you want.
Really great content. Keep it up, I bet this channel will really grow at some point. 💯
Thanks!
Awesome video buddy! Definitely a lot wilder then we have in West Virginia 😂 That was an awesome buck! Good luck!
That way you cook squirrels looks mighty tasty. Which species are they?
Red Squirrel

I think the fisher is a pretty good size. Definitely has a lovely pelt.
Thanks for watching!
What does red squirrel ( pine squirrel) taste like? I make fried grey squirrel then simmer it in sour kraut for half hour about a dozen times every fall. Taste excellent.
I would say it's most similar to dark meat from a chicken.

Better get some of them wolves or you won't have any deer left.
where abouts in alberta are you? im local to there as well.
Northern AB
No squirrel gravy for your rice? Enjoy your channel!

How big of cable u use for wolf an loop size how far off the ground
🙏🙏👍👍😊😊
😎👍👍
how far from caroline are you trapping?
Probably 5 hours north of Caroline maybe.
What kind of camera and mic are you using for your videos?
Sony CX-405

When you detach the fur, what do you do with all the meat and guts from the animals?
Some animals make for good table fare. Those that we do not eat are put back into the wild for other animals to eat.
@@KuskWild Cool. I always wondered that, good to give nature back to nature.
Squirrels cook with beans and rabbits

Any concerns about grizz?
i LOVE RECIPES! Do the squirrels "suffocate" or snap their neck with those kinds of snares? Not judging, just curious for my own info.
Did u take the buck skull
Where abouts in alberta do
U trap jw :)
why would you pull the marten traps?
You get a lot of meat off a squirrel. They eat your bait.
