- Hello everyone!
Quick drumcam from the gig with Hate at Metal Madness in Czech Republic, last August.
Unfortunately the clamp of the camera on the left didn't stay in place, so there is only one angle + footcam...
It's not super clean and I wasn't used to play a straight "down beat" skank beat, so I messed it up every now and then but I hope you like it anyways...
Huge thanks to the guys in Hate for giving me the chance to perform with them and Simon Schilling for contacting me in the first place!
I also want to thank Christian from Footblaster who sent me some triggers just in time for this gig. It was also the first time I used Footblaster triggers (the day before, at rehearsals and then of course live) and I have to say, that I'm just blown away by how easy they are to handle and how accurate they work! After that experience it’s hard to imagine how I triggered my bass drums back in the days (with standard acoustic triggers, a lot of muffling, miss fires, etc...)
Those triggers make live sooooo much easier, so thanks a lot for that invention!
The audio was recorded with a Yamaha Pocketrak W24, which was placed directly at the FOH

Have you seen his Cattle Decapitation covers? This guy should be one of the most in-demand session guys out there. But based on a recent interview, I suspect he prefers to maintain his day job (I believe he is a teacher?).

@Glen Haywood No, he's right hand was not counting "too fast". That "too fast" part was actualy a right beat to play at that part, as he described straight "down beat" skank beat. He switches around 1:20 into "regular" down beat which is easier(comfortabler) to play.
@@predragslavkovic94 yeah. highlighting the offs at fast skank beats easily leads to off time drumming. although he keeps time in this section i think he didnt feel secure enough and switched to the more convenient beat, just to be sure.

Have to agree... today with Footblaster and OnTrigger and some of the other triggering systems out there, using piezos on a bass drum head is like writing with a hammer and chisel on a rock.
