Thrawn's Return | Star Wars Ahsoka Episode 6 | Disney+
Its kind of fascinating how Baylan has such commanding presence in every scene, but in front of Thrawn, he seems almost tamer.
I noticed that- deferential, even.
I would be, too.
Thrawn is the most powerful figure in a room with two fallen jedi and three night sisters. Says enough really.
Classic way to introduce a villain. Establish one of his "lackeys" as a dangerous antagonist for some time, then introduce their commanding figure and showcase their dynamic and how much worse the main villain actually is
@@riptiide9285I'm not sure that's really the point. He does something similar for Morgan. What I took away is that Baylan is willing to play the role of lackey to get what he wants. He's not letting his ego get in the way.
Trust me Thrawn will go out like a Bitch no Jedi or Sith he is
Also I love how patient Thrawn is, no grand speeches, no oaths of revenge, just some poetry and then straight to work
Cool, collected, efficient, and deadly.
Amen! 🙏🏽💪
Them the most scary villains
he got fat and old while in exile. to lazy to do a speech. XD
"History is on the move. Those who cannot keep up will be left behind, to watch from a distance. And those who stand in our way will not watch at all."
In 1991, Heir to the Empire released
Now, 32 years later, Thrawn has finally made it into live action. And he was played PERFECTLY by Lars Mikklesen. Even Zahn agrees Mikklesen is the perfect cast
1991. The Last command came out in 1993.
His last name is spelled Lars Mikkelsen, with an E, not an O like “son”.
I could never hear, see or imagine another actor in this role. It seems Dave Filoni thought that as well.
The ONLY flaw I could give Thrawn here is how he spoke- on more occasions he'd either briefly pause for dramatic effect, or speak just a tad slower and intentionally empower specific words/take more time to speak than he did in the episode here. Honestly isn't something that takes away from the reveal though, just a nitpick that I loved from Rebels.
Lars was born for the act.
@@Lord_BurritoI agree he pauses a lot but doesn’t make him less cool. He does have a big belly but I wouldn’t say that’s an issue either. Lars does an amazing job acting as thrawn.
“To defeat an enemy, you must know them. Not simply their battle tactics, but their history, philosophy, art.”
My favorite quote of his.
Adolf H: You see! I didn't collect ancient art pieces because I was...accentric! I simply wanted to know my enemies!
@@KermitOfWarnope. He didn't understand anything and lost his mind in the end.
"When you understand a species' art, you understand that species." - Thrawn
Now add knowing the force to his agenda
The thing I love about Thrawn's entrance, is that its so...unnatural. The Chimera, the stormtroopers, Enoch, all looked like they were undead. Like the crew of the Black Pearl in POTC. Even Thrawn, whose uniform looks clean, is covered in dirt in some areas. This isn't any Imperial Remnant, its an army of the undead.
The Chimera being a ghost ship is an amazing idea
@@sirboomsalot4902that and one of hatred. The aura the stormtroopers give off are one of hatred and determination. Even Thrawn, when he hears Sabine’s name, his face slightly frowns. He’s clearly angry and wants nothing more than to destroy Ezra and anyone related to him as a revenge of his damnation.
How do you know theyre dead?
@ac3productions42 I'm assuming you're referring to the face plate trooper as "Enoch" which is pretty funny considering he does look like a Stormtrooper variant of Enoch from Ben 10
@@ell3655Leaks + They weird noises they make and them feeling a bit robotic
That stormtrooper with the face in his helmet looks so badass
Knowing of how Star Wars treats cool looking characters, he’s probably not gonna last very long :/
@@greenpig1175yeah, but hopefully he goes out looking cool. But man all those night troopers look amazing.
@greenpig1175 Just like that inquisitor Ahsoka destroyed 🤣
I hope that not Ezra as the goldenface mask stormtrooper.
@@swordandshield1172Did you even watch the episode? He very much isn't.
Instantly commanded all presence in a room with previous Jedi and Nightsisters.
This man is dangerous.
No he didn’t, he just talked, Baylan and Shin are still way more interesting, not cause we still know less about them than Thrawn, but just all around.
Still felt great to see thrawn again. I felt Lars did a great job.
@@ncard00agree to disagree
He's got hundreds of troopers on his side though.

This man will save the Galaxy!!!
I love how polite and cordial Thrawn is. Everyone's contributions and abilities are regarded with respect. He is not driven by pride, only a will for order. He seems to realize that his position of power is more secure with people under him that aren't constantly antagonized, but rather treated with appreciation.
Yup. Apart from being unable to prepare for space whales, the Bendu, the loss of Rukh, and Palpatine’s whims towards Project Stardust over the TIE Defender program, his biggest downfall in Rebels was that everyone else he had to work closely with apart from Rukh were either traitors (Callus) or unsatisfied with their positions to the point that they would disobey direct orders if it meant getting ahead in the Empire, blinding what little foresight they had compared to Thrawn’s visions and understandings (Pryce and Constantine). Otherwise what losses he encountered were within in his eyes acceptable margins and would only serve to bolster his victories.
So now he surrounds himself with only those that not only he trusts but appreciates so that he doesn’t suffer the same defeats that could have been averted if the people serving him trusted him just as much and did as they were told. I get the feeling he’s not going to want anything to do with the current Imperial Remnant who all have their own ulterior motives and probably truly want Thrawn back to serve as a rallying figure while they continue to plot and scheme potentially against each other and even against Thrawn behind his back.
@@Rexaura888 Yup. Thrawn was always at least ten steps head of everyone and he's not afraid to admit when he's defeated.
@@Rexaura888 What's even cooler is that Timothy Zahn's inspiration when creating Thrawn was based off of Sherlock Holmes.
@@Sigma0283 that's even more cooler.
Thrawn.
Man with brains and brawns. He deserves the position he has
I have to say… I do feel bad for those who are watching this and don’t know who Thrawn is. He’s without a doubt one of the greatest antagonists in Star Wars. I was all smiles in every scene he was in.
Yeah well they can't blame this one on Disney. Thrawn predates the literal prequels and is the whole reason a literary EU continuity existed in the first place.
He has the same level of importance than Vader and Palpatine
Greatest because he's not reliant on Force and is a testament that "normies" in Star Wars can be cool too.
@@benwasserman8223 you realise you’re a very small portion of people who read books right… most of us aren’t that sad
@@Spartan-tx6nr Yeah well considering how the first book came out in 1991, there's been plenty of time to get caught up
Ive never seen Rebels, but Ive heard of Thrawn as a villian. Man he seems terrifying in that scene, played super well and themusic is fantastic.
Here he doesn’t seem commanding, with any authority or intimidating, he just talks monotonely, Thrawn needs his red, glowing, pupilsless eyes, dark blue skin, and evil smile to really feel threatening.
@@ncard00are you kidding? 😂
@@ncard00he isnt threatning because hes still putting the peices of the puzzle together
@@ncard00you are so wrong in many levels
You have to watch Rebels to know Thrawn better
It really feel special to see the animated character eventually will be played by their voice actor in live action and how Ahsoka is basically Star Wars Rebels 2
Rebels seson 5*
@@ncard00 yeah, that is better
That's Filoni for you
It feels so jarring to hear Thrawn's voice come out of an actual human body and awesome at the same time. Same actor for animation and live-action was such a great move.
@joshuagraham3213 you probably might already know this but thought you'd be interested to know the guy playing thrawn is the brother of galen erso
“What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality for those who may oppose us.” - Grand Admiral Thrawn
Absolutely badass first line in the live-action debut for this legend
I tried to copy this but failed
this quote applies to the SW universe itself of coursem, but also Zahn's original Thrawn now being live action, and Heir to the Empire being live action. Kinda like that sequel quote, "Let the past die"....this is Dave Filoni announcing, "I'm here"!
They need to bring Luke, Solo, Leia, Chewie, Wedge, Cal, Quinlan Vos, and Mara Jade into this so it can go full circle. Then Thrawn wouldn't stand a chance.
Tbh, Thrawn's stormtroopers look absolutely frightening. Let's hope they live up to their look. Evo troopers would also be a nice addition as well as imperial jet troopers
Thrawn is back. A true Star Wars enemy has returned, the heir of the Empire himself.
Yeah and he has no impact as he’s not even a part of the sequels.
Only for first order is. So much for thrawn …
That's the thing tho, his ultimate allegiance has always been to the Ascendancy. And I have a terrible premonition that will be ignored
The heir to empire who defeated so easily the 1st order didn’t even know he existed…
@@117MasterSpartan He wasn't in the Star Wars Christmas Special either. Why don't you whine some more about it.
Legendary indeed
Seeing his star destroyer, descend on the temple was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in any Star Wars media
The way it’s patched together is awesome too, like it’s not a full star destroyer from a factory, it’s put together with spare parts. But it still looks majestic, like a threat.
Better than starkiller pulling one out of the sky? Yeah right 😂
Better than maul vs obiwan and quigon or the battle over endor? Wtf…
In the captions, Thrawns soldiers are called Night Troopers. And Thrawn has hinted he has previously been aided by the nightsisters. I think all of these Night Troopers are resurrected Storm Troopers. This gives me goosebumps.
Edit: after rewatching it, I actually think they are enhanced soldiers like how Merrin enhanced the Zabraks on Dathomir in Fallen Order. I think this because of how they could be loading coffins in the chimera so the nightsisters can be resurrected on Dathomir
Hoping for undead Death Troopers to appear since they were in his ship in the Rebels finale.
He should have Emperor's Royal Guard as well from the finale.
So they will be just like Marrok? Ashoka will walk through green smoke with every trooper killed.
Kind of badass knowing Ezra creamed most of them getting to Thrawn
That would be SUPER creepy in the BEST way possible!
Sort of like an zombie army?
He actually looks like heir to the Empire Thrawn
From the comic? He looked awful in the comic, he should be quite a bit smaller, more lean, have glowing red eyes, and have a more evil smile while talking and n general.
@@ncard00 I am talking about the book Cover. I think it was Dark force rising. Evil Smile? That wouldnt make Sense at all. Thrawn isn't evil in Canon. He does what has to be done

@@TheworldisscrewedYes, Lars Mikkelsen, older brother of Mads Mikkelsen, who played Galen Erso in Rogue One.

Little things to note.
Thrawns Army isn't simply just beaten up, it looks like it went through hell and back.
Despite that, They act professional and on point.
These Stormtroopers are experienced and seen some serious stuff and appears to be heavily reliant on each other.
Thrawn is heavily gaurded. If anyone noticed when he was interacting with his rescuers they were completely surrounded by Thrawns guards in every scene that thrawn was in, there was a guard or several guards with clear lines of sight towards thrawn.
They show respect for a enemy, even advice. Very unusual for a storm trooper. However after spending 10 years with a person who believed all else on efficiency, respect, and Loyalty, it wouldn't surprise me if these troopers started picking up on that. Meaning if thrawn has had them preparing for this for 10 years and kept up their training, and that they have been active fighting something in that galaxy, these guys are perhaps the most experienced and deadly stormtroopers in the star wars galaxy, and all trained and loyal to Thrawn.
They likely aren’t even the actual troopers for the most part. They’re called Night Troopers in the captions, and we know he and the Nightmothers are cooperating. It’s likely they’re all reanimated by the Nightmothers, which explains how robotic they are.
Im sorry for breaking your great análisis, but all these "loyal" troopers... Are long dead lmao. They are obviously rranimated bodies like the inquisitor, by the Night mothers
I think you're right. While it is reasonable to assume that some of the troopers we see could be resurrected corpses, the movements of the soldiers in the episode seems fluid and human, not shaky and half-alive like we see the nightsister arc in the clone wars. These soldiers are probably the same soldiers that were aboard Thrawn's ship in rebels all those years ago, and have probably adapted to the harsh conditions of their new home. Under the leadership of Thrawn, they are perhaps the most motivated and well-trained fighting force among all others in the Imperial Remnant. It will be very rewarding to see them in action in the coming episodes (if that action does happen).
@@martingenero6328 Its possible a fair number of them are re-animated, however its unlikely they all are. He seemed quite concerned of the well-being of any remaining troops. So obviously a number of troopers and officers are indeed very much alive. Thrawn was always well known even in legends to care for his soldiers under his command. Guess will have to wait and see. I do believe that their allegiance is to Thrawn and the night sisters, hence (night troopers)
I do have a suspicion his captain of the guard is possibly a night sister creation. Or was someone that required heavy use of the night sisters magick.
@@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent We'll see. I wonder how things will play for Thrawn in this continuity
I dare people to find write something bad about Thrawn's live-action debut. This was a pretty stellar translation of his personality in live-action, and getting Lars Mikkelsen back certainly helped.
Don't worry. No one hates Star Wars more than another fan.
I had a certain imagination from the books and though he is my fav character, I didn't expect him to have a belly like that. Tbh I was disappointed, also expected more make up design in the face. That doesn't make me a bad fan, its hard to meet expectations
Though I am a fan of the character I hadn't expected him to be so....out of shape.
I honestly was laughing at how he looked in all that makeup.
Oh wait for it, Star Wars ‘fans’ will find a way to bitch about it
He looks exactly how I envisioned him from the 3 Thrawn trilogies, he’s perfect. Mind you, I have to state the obvious that I read them after Lars was cast in the role.
Didn’t you watch Rebels? That’s where he makes his first canon appearance
He looks old, out of shape, and with a bad wig and added-in-post blue skin. Definitely not how I imagined him when I first read the Thrawn trilogy 30 years ago
@@alicesaxon601I think Lars is doing a phenomenal job as Thrawn. He completely nailed Thrawn's demeanour and his manner of speaking. While he doesn't look like the OG depiction from the Thrawn trilogy, he more than makes up for it in sheer acting.
I cannot way to see more of him!

Thrawn’s presence in this scene is terrifying. Baylan, Shin Hati, and the Great Mothers look unsettled in front of him and his “Night Troopers.”
“Everything leading up to this moment has been rehearsal. The real performance is about to begin.”
-Grand Admiral Thrawn
The fact that the mothers of dathomire, some of the most powerful dark magic witches, work FOR Thrawn. Just shows how powerful this guy is
Techincally they don't "work" for him. They came to an agreement, so they could escape from exile- oh wait. Nvm.
Thrawn: *Identifies Baylan as a former Jedi*
Nightsister Mothers: "F#%$, not another one......."
Finally Thrawn has returned!!!! One of my favorite Star Wars characters ever and I can’t wait to see more of him throughout the series!!!!!👍👍
I love how Thrawn sounded EXACTLY as he did in Rebels!! And his ever-reassured, elegant demeanor was Soo soothing and intimidating!! Very well cast actor. The stormtrooper with face in helmet was pretty cool too!
same actor as the voice actor
Mads Mikkelsens brother
Let us blow your mind
He IS Thrawn from Rebels
Of course has the same Voice, it's the same actor lol

Am so freaking happy Grand admiral Thrawn is back and also nightsisters and those stormtroopers look so cool l love this episode
Literally just finished this episode and my heart was pounding the entire time Thrawn was onscreen. I’ve never watched Rebels, so my knowledge of Thrawn is next to non-existent. But then again, I don’t feel like I needed to, just the simple fact that I could have heart palpitations just from seeing him and hearing him says how dangerous he is. The way he speaks, the way he moves, his mannerisms, the commanding presence he invokes simply from breathing, and the fact that even the Night Sisters, and Baylan were afraid of him. It all says that Thrawn is not just dangerous, he is evil incarnate.
he isn't that evil just smartest one in the universe.
@@mr.waiyanlin1791True. But I'd say Sidious during the clone wars takes that mantle.
Having watched Rebels, as well as read many of the books from the old EU, I can tell you with experience:
Mith'raw'nuruodo is truly one of the most dangerous individuals the galaxy has ever seen. He is a tactical and strategic grandmaster, who has demonstrated the ability to intimidate entire species and governments into surrendering without firing a shot, forced Coruscant into a total lockdown using cloaked asteroids, beat the legendary Admiral Ackbar at his own game, and was within a literal inch of singlehandedly taking down the New Republic. Only freak chance allowed for the galaxy's salvation from Thrawn.
So yeah-Thrawn IS that one that you need to worry about. And I am VERY eager to see what madness comes to us all on-screen.

i think such an interesting point people aren’t picking up on is that thrawn seems so much more in tune with more mystical sides of the universe. when he encountered bendu in rebels he was almost fearful and confused. throughout this episode he gives off the impression that he is much more well versed in mystic arts of the nightmothers and potentially the force
Thrawn is a pragmatist. While he may not fully understand it, he will utilize those who do.

Such a poetic, menacing, iconical line for his first live action appearance. Lars has outdone himself once again! 🔥
He sure did but he didn't actually write the line... Give respect to the writers as well.
Something tells me that some of the stormtroopers are dead being only alive through those witches magic.😯😮

Every time I watch this scene it just makes me feel that much more vindicated as a fan of Rebels as each episode came out. I've been waiting YEARS for this glorious moment. Such a grand entrance for the Grand Admiral himself.
Man....he has NO IDEA that Ahsoka is connected to Anakin....Thrawn knows and have completed missions with Anakin and Vader and Thrawn knew Vader was Anakin....but he had NO IDEA about Ahsoka....wait until he learns this! 😂
I can see him using that against her in some way.
@brandonsmith9098 I would think so too. However, I think Anakin finishing up her training is going to help her around the mental obstacle.
@@chriscornejo695 Yeah. That episode was really character driven for her. But I could see Thrawn defeating her by recognizing some sort of similarity in her tactics and actions that he saw/learned in Anakin. Maybe that's the next part of her arc: going beyond her teacher and what he taught her.
Thrawn heard about Ahsoka from Anakin and Padme in the book, they told him about the Marg Sabl tactic which was invented by Ahsoka and became one of Thrawn favorite tactic
I really hope they don't kill him off in one season cause there's so much potential here.
Yeah, this is what i'm afraid of. They have spent so much time building him up (rightfully so ofcourse), it would be weird if he's defeated by episode 8. There has to be atleast a season 2, or it ties in to the filoni movie.
Nah, Thrawn is definitely winning because this whole show is a set up for him in a future movie. He probably manages to make it back to the prime Galaxy.
My fear as well. I worry that it will go the way of Game of Thrones - all that build-up and then we're left with "what the hell is this?"
it gets bettter cuz the fact e have the guy who voiced him in rebels actually playing thrawn is amazing cuz his voice is perfect for thrawn
After years of waiting since rebels ending and after decades since Heir To The Empire released..... *Grand Admiral Thrawn is finally here in Live Action.*
Thrawn's got that, "Scary when speaking calmly aura."
My immediate thought was Dunes Sardukar when i saw that army, music and chanting. Looks like they went into a hostile prison planet and forged an army from hell. Their armor looks both elegant and brutal, 10/10 star wars
so true about the sardaukars
I was thinking that too.
The crazy thing is that the dedication of Thrawn’s crew in the entire fleet was so true, it was questioned if they were loyal to the Empire or to Thrawn.
Makes the Roman-like helmet of Enoch all the more appropriate. Rome had so many civil wars because its legionaries were usually loyal to their generals, not to the empire.
I find it interesting Thrawn has the Night witches on his side. You can notice that he has them looking at the “threads of fate”. During his exile he probably remembered the Bendu telling him of his inevitable demise and thus he hopes that he can finally have a chance against that which he cannot strategize against: The Force
I think his encounter with Bendu and the prophetic downfall knocks some sense into him that there are things beyond simple tactics and strategies
I love how he almost speaks like the G-Man and has since Rebels. It gives this other worldly aura around him.
Thrawn walking up with that beer gut lol 😂
Lars Mikkelsen's portrayal is breathtaking. He doesn't have this angry expression like in Rebels, instead a highly calculative and calm one.
Rebels fans have waited 5 years for this very moment and it did not disappoint. Although I think Thrawn looks a little goofy, I can get over it with the 11/10 performance. Such a badass entrance!
Yeah I think Lars should have got the gym for this role. But nonetheless Ill take what I can get. Thrawn is so badass.
Yeah the belly and posture could have been better
Contrary to most of the others I have nothing against the belly or the posture (the character is supposed to be around 70 after all). The makeup could be waaay better however, he looks as if he simply had a blue paint on his face.
@@SMiki55 Around 70? He was pretty young, maybe in his 30s, in Rebels. So he's in his 40s, maybe in his 50s tops?

I hope when the Ahsoka show ends, we get another spin-off about what happened between Ezra and Thrawn when they went into this galaxy.
The way that Thrawn doesn't object to the presence of mercenaries and considers three days to be "an acceptable timeframe" is quite refreshing to see in an Imperial...like the opposite of the Bridge officer in Empire saying "Bounty Hunters?! We don't need their scum!" or Vader in ROTJ threatening the Death Star crew to work even harder than they already are in time for the Emperor's visit
In a room with 2 fallen Jedi, 3 night sisters, and a company of Stormtroopers, Thrawn is still the most intimidating presence.
The coolest troopers I have seen ever since Disney took control.
Thrawn working with the night sisters? Ho boy we in trouble.
These are the most badass frightening looking stormtroopers I've ever seen. You can tell they've been through a decade of hell and have come out of it hardened and extremely devoted to Thrawn.
I heard rumors that they are basically zombies revived by Night Sister's magic at this point
MandoVerse empire remnant is a joke, they will be done dirty. Andors empire is done sooo much better.
It was so exciting to see thrawn in live action, and by the voice actor too
I just love how the organ is now linked to Thrawn and *only Thrawn* within the Star Wars universe. It's his instrument, and it's so cold and strong and powerful in a menacing way. It's Thrawn, just a perfect choice. And Lars Mikkelsen, muah, what a delight! 😍
I love the vibe of Thrawn. It's so serious but so cool.
I always put Thrawn above Vader and Palpatine combined. That guy sends chills down my spine…what truly makes him incredibly ominous and spine-chilling is the way he holds himself. There is nothing more terrifying when someone wins with pure strategy, evilness and silence.
I was born in 90 and fell in love with SW around 96. My introduction to Thrawn (and the expanded universe) was through the SW Encyclopedia and the Character Guides. His character is absolutely flawless. I caught a little bit of him in Rebels as I half watched the show and I haven't read the newer books despite having them on display next to a beautiful copy of The Art Of War. I can't wait to see him live action. His voice is perfect and he's straight up the Star Wars Tsung Tsu. Someday maybe I'll read more!!! Long Live the EU, in Dave Filoli we trust, THE KING HAS RETURNED, bring on the Hier To The Empire!!!
I wonder if Thrawn’s legion is under control of Nightsister magic…
We were so robbed of this being the sequels it's not even funny
Lars is so, so, so much better in live action. One thing I never particularly liked from either Clone Wars or Rebels was how every character's head moved around while talking. Here, Lars gets to deliver his performance with measured stillness. It's beyond perfect.
"You would not be the first."
The man was perfectly cast.
Lars is such talent loved his performance as Thrawn in Rebels and he.and Ray Stevenson are clearly the best actors of this show
The Heir to the Empire is back!!!
Baylan Skoll is the best creation Disney has made since Mando. There I said it!. RIP Mr. Stevenson
I told myself, if I dont hear those pipe organs when Thrawn shows up im gonna be MAD....they did NOT disappoint! 😍😍😍
I think lars mikkelsen was the perfect casting for this role. Not only because of his voice but his appearance as well. In the time of rebels i imagined thrawn as looking much younger and with sharp features. But now in this show, he is an older man (or rather chiss) with a face that is more lined. Like his ship and his crew he has been through much and has seen better days, but he is still here and hes not going away without a fight
So I don't know what it is. But I think that line "you're quite right" is just to me the ultimate in being Thrawn. Like when I heard that line that was the moment to me he felt like the book version of himself. This one line read is what I've waited for all these years since I first read Heir to the empire all those years ago. That was the voice of Thrawn.
Sean Kiner popped off with the music here.
THE HEIR TO THE EMPIRE HAS RETURNED
Man... Baylan has been a great antagonist from the beginning, but when Thrawn appeared on scene, it was a cold blood entrance, even to anyone who has no idea who Thrawn is, will be amazed by his presence.
Calling it. Thrawn's leading an army of Undead Stormtroopers.
In captions they listed as night troopers so 100% reanimated soldiers
They do escape the galaxy but Thrawn dies by Ezra in the finale
Also, Ahsoka and Sabine will survive
@@ErykRollThrawn survives.
No leaks mention his death. Only his victory.
@@TheEmperor2004 shhh
They seem battle hardened stormtroopers. At last, a competent imperial army
They're dead
Episode 7 could’ve been Heir to the Empire. Episode 9 could’ve been The Last Command.
The Thrawntroopers looked dope
Honestly, before he appeared I was thinking he was gonna be dead. That Morgan was being spoken to by something worse; like Aboleth or another ancient Sith we haven't seen or that was made *for* the show. But when I saw him walking through those troopers, and when I saw his *face*, I couldn't have been more excited... I'm so, SO glad I was wrong about Aboleth appearing in this case.
“What was first just a dream, has become a frightening reality for those who may oppose us.” Lars Mikkelsen absolutely nailed that line. I’m beyond happy that he has a chance to truly bring Thrawn to life.
10/10 episode for me, especially as a rebels fan. And seeing a whole new galaxy was AWESOME. I hope we get to see more of this galaxy in future star wars shows.
If he didn’t disappeared, would he have challenged the senate himself?
Him challenging Palpatine?
Unlikely. It emerges from the canon novels (specifically, _Thrawn: Treason_) that Palpatine was the only one (not even Vader) who could get the normally imperturbable Thrawn unsettled, however ephemerally.
Wasn't sure about his look at first, but once he started speaking I was like "That's Thrawn!"
Those dulcet tones, that blue skin, the blood red eyes piercing your soul, not demanding but asking you to give him the information he wants...
Oh, yes.
Thrawn has returned.
He really fell off his exercise regimen😂
Spending many years in a world once reigned by the Nighsisters of Dathomir kind of made Thrawn and Ezra go a bit crazy in a way (they really want to leave Peridea).
Our lord and saviour has returned. Long live the empire
I loved how they didn't clean the armor, they proud to wore the damaged armor like it was a medal of honor, those troopers seen some sh*t, a lot of sh*ts
The stormtrooper knitsugi armor is awesome
Legends or Canon, Thrawn is one of the best villains in the Star Wars franchise. So calm and collected, always anticipating his enemy's moves, and of course having the most perfect strategies.

You can tell Thrawn still finds himself on the back foot when it comes to matters of the force (That he has nightsisters as his specialists on the matter at all shows how big a concern the matter has become for him since his exile)…
You can hear the slightest edge of confusion and curious uncertainty.
You can tell he's also a little pissed at the Nightsisters and their "loose thread." It means there's a variable he hasn't considered and it annoys him.
Everyones favourite space bluberry is back. I really didn't think his ship would still be flying.
I love the grimy look of all the Stormtroopers.
the sequel trilogy should've had been Thrawn as the main antagonist
