Your shows are incredible! Even with completion of my college courses for medical coding, and the official CPC study guide book, I still am amazed at how many notes I can make per video of yours. Thank you!
I'll be taking my CPC exam this month, and am over the moon happy I found your videos!! I'm learned sooo much more from you than I could have imagined and feel very confident now! I want to thank you soooo much for doing what you do!! I'll forever be thankful!! 🙏💜
Just wanted to comment to say thank you for what you do! I had an interview at the beginning of the month for a medical coding position, I prepared using your videos and was offered the job and I start this Monday! I am a new graduate with my RHIT and sit to take the CCS exam this December. I thought it would be a nightmare finding a coding position with little to no experience but your vids gave me the confidence to boost myself.
Hi Victoria, I love your channel, you've been a Godsend helping me through the medical billing / coding waters ;-) I would love to see more of these types of videos, with the updated 2023 CPT & ICD-10 & HCPCS books. I find these extremely helpful! Can't thank you enough for having such a wonderful resource!!!!
I didn't know that the cpt's were arrange in the book from top body parts to lower body parts, thank you !! I always learn something from each of your videos
I appriciate this content, you are very thorough and informative when explaining the process step by step. I am new to coding and try to learn in preparation for the cpc exam. this is very helpful and hope to see more!
I love the case studies and find them so helpful! I'm going to be attending school to get my CPC in December. I would love to see how you go through a complex case with multiple ICD-10 or CPT codes! I've found your videos SO helpful and they helped me confirm that medical coding is what I definitely want my career path to be! I also LOVE your ICD-10/CPT review videos! The sit and study with me kind of vibe those videos have are soooo helpful.
Thank you, I just got my CPC certification and am taking the Practicode to get some more exposure to actual cases. Some have been quite difficult I'm wondering if you would do a more complicated one with multiple codes.
love the case studies! I would have totally missed that this one was just two, not three, different fractures.....I re-watched the video and looked up symphysis fx and i get it now! yay! thanks Victoria!
I work for an ASC/ ortho company as a biller and taking my cpc next month hoping to get a coding position there but i cannot for the life of me dissect what’s important and what isn’t. Especially when There is also anesthesia and implants that sometimes have to be coded as well. so THANK YOU for this video!!! 🙌🏼💕
I am at a point where I seriously confused by all the reason for visit and diagnosis codes, as well as cpt and HCPCS codes. More of this type of videos would be helpful. Thank you!!!
I love your delivery of this case study. Wonderful. Thank you for explaining coding for exams vs coding in the real world as I'm headed into Practicode and still in that rush and find the answer mode. It didn't feel right and I was worried about spending too much time. I hope the speed comes with time and repetition! Thanks so much.
Thank you for doing this video. I am in school right now and actually going over how to code case studies. This video helped me so much especially with the place holder x being used. It makes much more sense now!
Hello! Thank you so much for your videos! They’ve been really helpful! The way you break things down and even read the words is easy to understand. I was wondering if you could do a video for a surgery case study when the procedure(s) done isn’t clearly stated in the “Procedure” section of the Operative Report but you have to decipher what type of surgery was done in the body or description of procedure. Please? :) Again, thank you so so much. I’m currently in school and determined!
Well this was helpful, i paused the video and tried to code it before going through it with you. I got the two icd-10 codes correct even though i didn't yet verify the incident report. I admit the bilateral part threw me off so i wrote something extra i didn't need because i figured one of the answers would be right. Unfortunately the CPT code was completely wrong after I searched it up from the index and getting entirely confused. It's kind of embarrassing how bad i am at cpt coding, yet I'm able to code icd-10 decently even though i haven't used it since 2019. I think this really reflects the fact that i had a good instructor for icd-10 and somebody who didn't teach me anything in cpt. 😵 i feel depressed, but hopeful since Victoria uploads these videos. I feel extremely slow when it comes to cpt coding.
Thank you for the break down and your smooth explanation. No rushing. Very Clear. Almost feeling confident that I can do this. You have yourself a new subscriber.
New to coding. Your channel is the best I've found for coding. Thank you. I recently received a scholarship for a course at a tech college. This college pays for the CBCS exam. We use Bucks Step by Step 2021. Workbook and text book Bucks ICD and Bucks HCPCS. If I can pass the CBCS would I be able to pass the CPC? Have you heard of a comparison of exams? Thanks my new coding family. Oh, I'm scheduled for CPC exam in December. 🤞
God bless you. I am in this course on chapter 7 and struggling with modifiers and surgical cases as well. I have to take the test after my course in December for CPT certification. So how to get practice to icd10 cm and CPT codes
I just passed that this morning after falling flat on my face on the first try. You already scheduled your exam? It would be nice if they had more PA's to practice And you can't start practicode until you finish the exam.
@@Awakenthemasses2016_thetruth is there a limited to how many times we can fail it? Do we get as many attempts as we pay for per year? I'm not even going to attempt the exam because my instructor was so bad that i feel like i didn't recieve an education and I'm not smart enough to figure it out on my own. So i just practice with these videos until i atleast become decent
@@spongebob8445 As far as I know you take it as many times as you pay for. I honestly thought this was going to be 'easier' and the good Lord humbled me real quick! I'm not going to attempt it either until I feel very confident. Maybe look into purchasing PractiCode from AAPC before going and taking the test. I don't feel smart enough to figure it out on my own either! I'm watching the same videos as you are! Be comforted in that; we are all struggling. Be patient with yourself.
@@Awakenthemasses2016_thetruth okay thank you, I have purchased 3 practice test from the AAPC a couple of months ago and failed so far. I thought you had said that you already passed the exam the other morning? Sorry I'm a little confused whether or not you already did or if you are still practicing to be able to.
I am currently learning surgeries in coding in my current position, but the other problem I have is trying to figure out the hcpcs codes to code with the procedures as needed.
I am having a hard time figuring out all of what to code on reports in Practicode. Most of them aren't this operative report style. Most (so far) are ER visit reports etc. I am missing so many because I'm not including all the codes needed for each report. Any tips for this? I passed my CPC (AAPC) in August but it didn't prepare me for reading the reports that's for sure..
Do you have any advice or suggestions on how to pass the CPC exam? Thank you! I just found your videos! Hoping they give me a better understanding of coding.
To clarify, you didn't code the bilateral mandible fracture because the displaced left angle fracture is one side and the symphysis fracture is on the other side which is technically not the right side because of where the symphysis fracture is which is more like the middle of the jaw. I hope I'm making sense. I was confused at first, but wanted to clarify why you didn't code the bilateral mandible fracture
May I ask why you didn’t go to the Index first when finding the CPT code? I’m currently taking a course through AAPC and my instructor is constantly emphasizing the importance of using the Index first 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Fun fact: on my instructor's UA-cam videos she was saying that she usually go straight to the tabular for CPT codes we should be doing that because the index will waste alot of time on the exam, and we should get familiar with the tabular. So during the test she would post i would look up all of my codes by headlines in that specific chapter of what I'm dealing with which was okay sometimes, but sometimes more challenging. When i emailed her for help she claimed that even though the exam is short on time she was only saying to do that for the E/M chapter, and we should be using our index. 😢😭
Also. I get told all the time at work to make a ST guide for residents and students because it's inside surgical knowledge you get from only experience.. I see in the comments here, most people are struggling with understanding what's important and what's not in surgery, would it be beneficial to write down some key points from a Surgical Techs view? (Trust me. We genuinely know more experience situational knowledge than a lot of surgeons outside their comfort zones.. we see it all)
I’m Lost on how you found the diagnosis, you just went straight to the word Mandible. Would be helpful to know the process on how to get there, instead of assuming you went to Fracture in the ICD book
I completely understand where you're coming from, and I apologize for any confusion. This particular video doesn't delve into the very basic process of looking up an ICD-10-CM code. However, I have other videos where I cover that foundational process from the absolute beginner level. Please check those out for a thorough walkthrough. Thanks for your feedback, and I'll ensure to provide clearer guidance in the future.
