@@danielaquintana9466 thank you🥰 I did self study. Everything I learned was from taking AAPC practice tests, I had 6 in total; I watched UA-cam videos on topics that were hard to understand; 1 cpc exam practice workbook; and I highlighted my books extensively to where everything that was important stood out to me & added annotations where they were needed to help me remember certain things, like no to use one set of codes with another
I am taking mine in January and a little nervous. I have a strategy of going through the test and flagging all the questions asking me ICD or HCPCS look up and saving those for last and starting with CPT questions first. I have noticed with that I end up having a lot more time than I thought to do the test and not freaking out a lot while keeping an eye on the timer still. I am buying the practice exams as well so happy about that. Thank you for this video its like you knew we were going to be needing this.
The exams get a refresh every January 1st to reflect the current calendar year's code sets. So, even though ICD-10-CM codes might update on October 1st, those changes won't show up in the exam until the new year rolls around. 🗓️ Feel free to use last year's books, but just know you might be at a slight disadvantage. For the full scoop, check out AAPC's official guidance: www.aapc.com/resources/cpc-exam-faqs " What year's code books should I use during my certification exam? Because certification exams are based on the current calendar year's code sets, it’s essential for coders to reference the current year’s code books to ensure optimal performance. We strongly suggest using the current year's books. You may use the previous calendar year’s books during your certification exam, but doing so would put you at a disadvantage."
hey victoria, this was such an informative video! im currently enrolled in the AAPC CRC course and i'm having trouble with my experimental learning tasks. i was wondering if you could possibly post a video practicing very detailed medical records with more than one diagnoses. thank you so much for all of your cool vids!
Sorry to hear you were not successful on your last exam attempt. I have a video where I discuss my best tips for how to tackle your next attempt: ua-cam.com/video/VT05L6X0iUo/v-deo.html I think you'll find it helpful. At this time, I am not offering individual assistance or tutoring.
