I have an update! I did buy the saw! I got my Hercules saw stand out when I noticed that one of the black plastic housings with the locking levers that guides the extensions with was cracked. How this happened was I was cleaning the garage and something close to the stand slid against it and it toppled over. The stand was in its collapsed state sitting on its wheels. I called Harbor Freight and of course you can’t buy any parts for the stand other than the two mount clamps that hold the saw. So here’s how I fixed it. When looking at the part installed, it was cracked on the lower right part of the bracket close to the formed bolt hole. I cleaned the housing with rubbing alcohol. I spread open the crack and ran super glue along the edges. I have a small drillpress vise that I clamped the housing, with the backside, which has hollow sections in it facing up. I left it that way all night. The next morning with the housing still clamped in the vise I mixed up some JB Weld and poured it into the recess where the crack ran through to the top. I made sure to get all the bubbles out and let it sit for about two days. It is solid as a rock now and turned out perfect. I then cleaned up the outside of the housing where the superglue did ooze through and sanded it up and painted it with a semi gloss black. If you still have the owners manual that came with the saw stand, I believe it’s part number 77 that cracked. It’s kind of a pain, but I now store the stand with both of the T supports removed from and both extensions slid in and flip the levers down to hold them in place. That way, if it would happen to tip over again, it should be protected. Sorry this is so long.
JB Weld is great stuff and I have used it to fix all kinds of things. Have you tried any of the DAP 30 minute CA glue? It comes in a red cap bottle. Its a great mix with Fast Cap Spray Accelerator. It has the same advantages as CA glue but it will allow you to work with in a minute or two before it sets up. In 30 minutes you can plane boards that you have glued together with it. I buy it in 6 packs. Hard to find in local stores.
I think you did a great job. I am thinking of picking this saw up tomorrow. I had heard in the past the saw wouldn’t stay in adjustment. Most of the reviews I’ve read is the saw is dead on out of the box. I like your idea of removing the saw before setting it up. I didn’t know if you had a review on the saw itself? Again, great job explaining the problem and the fix.
I think it's harder to remove the saw before set up. It kind of defeats the purpose of the stand I have both of these items. I've had no trouble. You're right that the damage done was because you put all the legs down before starting to tip it. I like them both and recommend them both.
Thanks for the info! My son has the same saw. He uses a portable table to put it on. I agree the saw is top notch and the stand is also I did find after moving the mounting brackets where the saw was now balanced when it was placed on the stand made the whole operation a lot easier.
If you slide your saw all the way to the front to store it it will not flop off when you unlock it I have the same set up and love this thing
Yes. I found that to be true and that is what I did as well. I thought I had said that in the video. I have slept since then.

@@MarkJonesRanger no I haven’t tried that. I will definitely keep that in mind.

The saw is a great saw. My son also has it in his Construction business. It's heavy but it's solid and right on.
