Or as the drill sergeant taught us, “This is my rifle, this is my gun, this is for fightin’, this is for fun”. I appreciate your work--without you, my 4 old paid-for cars wouldn’t work!
You are spot on about the newer EZ Red ratcheting wrenches...….have already had to replace the swivel head locking mechanism after very light use. Thanks for posting.
My milwaukee rachet driver is the best damed tool I've ever owned, love it
if you ever have the money, get the milwauke m12 fuel 1/4 impact. It's an amazing tool.
There are socket adapters if you don't know
I love my flex head ratchets. Mine are a little different (they swivel in the centre and can become like a straight vertical screw driver), but same idea in that they work with different angles. Well worth what I paid.
I'm always surprised when folks complain about the torque of that ratchet. Power ratchets are not for breaking or tightening, you do those by hand, with the power mostly for running bolts/nuts up and down quickly. They are not impact driven (i.e. which would remove the reaction from your hands) as is that nut driver, so it would be a knuckle buster if the torque were any higher. I agree with that extendable flex head ratchet, use mine a lot, only switching to the regular ratchets when there are space constraints, like, master cylinders and under dash work. Almost never have to switch to 1/2 drive ratchet even on larger suspension bolts, axle nuts, now that's another story.
I'm really liking this channel. Thanks for the info
One of the most recent tools I bought... not spectacular but has proven to be amazingly useful... 600mm breaker bar for 1/2" drive sockets... bought to assist in fitting an emove to a caravan, but has been used lots since.
007JHS could of just said a 2 foot breaker bar
I got a chicago electric hammer drill from harbor freight and i have put that thing through the ringer with loads of concrete work and still going strong. Was unexpectedly impressed with it for the cost. Other than harbor freights central pneumatic accesories i havent had any problems. Ill be going with high dollar brands a lot less from here on.
I just ordered the Extendable 3/8" Ratchet with a flex head thanks to your video. That's a highly needed tool for any DIYer. I already have the Milwaukee 3/8" ratchet is a nice tool to have, for engine work and all of the above, I got mine off Amazon in separate orders too, 35 bucks for 2 batteries/charger and 95 bucks for the bare tool and I agree it's torque is lack luster, but then again I didn't buy it for its torque power I got it for convenience. That My 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 impacts couldn't get too.
One of your beat video so far...😂. I guess one thing I learned is don't operate tools, and record yourself after a case of beers! 🖒🍻
nice tool choices. Seems items have a combination of : simpler, durable, value, multi-purpose, unique, practical, etc. thanks
That 3/8 extended ratchet is a tool sent from God !! Man I don’t even need a swivel sometimes with it
Nothing wrong with your tools getting you excited. I suffer from the same affliction :-) I'm so glad I watched this video. While I had a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter that came with my socket set, I did not have the other ratchet adapters shown in your video. I decided to pick some up and I'm so glad I did. When I found myself working on an old rusty BMW there were numerous instances where the various sized adapters were lifesavers. Thanks for the recommendation!
CUT! Thanks for leaving that in - great info and a bit of humor.
You are great with a healthy sense of humor-nice fall, lol
I see the new garage is working out well. My go to tool is my 24 inch breaker bar on my ' 05 Altima up here in Toronto. Lots of salt on those winter roads= frozen bolts.
He is like a more detailed version of Scotty Kilmer. While Scotty just tells you the results, this guy is a bit more detail oriented. Both are very practical and really think about automobiles in owner terms.
Cal L Scotty is just clickbait
Scotty is a money hungry, self-centered douchebag. This guy is humble and legit.
Scotty is a little bit more old school that's it.
Do not compare this humble guy with that scotty crack head
I don't think there is anything wrong with Kilmer. Everything he says has came true for the vehicles in my household over the decades. So what if he is click-baity, it's still worth watching. Lots of good little tips and I quite enjoy the Chrysler bashing if you are know how much we sank into these PoS. I like Toyota's too, our toyotas have all been comically cheap to drive and maintain. More money in pocket for the kid's future education.
Also what's wrong with making money? He is not getting sponsored, you don't have to watch his content of you don't want Google ads to give him money.
Forgot your Craftsman Bottle Cap Opener. I'm sure it was your favorite tool while filming this. 🍻
I just found your channel while putting together a toolkit for my sons new car. You kept my attention and I enjoyed all the bloopers.while still getting the information I needed.Liked and subscribed.
Metric and 'standard'... made chuckle.
Thanks for sharing.
Great video buying some of your suggestions now Thanks!
Impact wrench is, hands down, the best tool I bought for auto work. I stopped stripping the heads off bolts and immensely reduced my work time because I wasn't taking an hour trying to undo a stuck fastener. When I got one I was like, "Why didn't I get one of these months ago?"
Same bro lmao 😂
hah! This is one of the most helpful vids.. better than Scotty Kilmer's! Keep it up.. we are watching! I like the level of detail too.. there is "enough".
This guy is ine of the best!
Another video that relates too real world situations that we all deal with. This is a great channel!
Gave a thumbs up for the innuendos
M12 ratchet is the best gen1. The gen 2 fuel is just to big ,something inside of me wanted but when I compare it side by side, is hard to choose.is just Less versatile in tight spaces.
You have your sockets upside down in your socket organizer. It seems counterintuitive but they fit better the other way. Took me a while to realize this myself. Not only do they fit better, but you will find it really handy when you are done with the socket to just place your ratchet head over the spot on the organizer and push the button to release the socket right down onto the stem.
rueliotube correct... sockets are upside down. The base of each spindle is sized to fit the corresponding socket... this helps keep them from moving around and helps prevent sockets from being placed in the wrong location
What part of video sockets are up side down? Unless he edited video and corrected them.
Pirouz Farhani At 7:51. The “face” should be down. Still wrong...or, rather, not ideal.
@@rueliotube For this particular socket holder maybe. But for harbor freight socket holders or any standard one the six points hex opening should be faced up not down like how he has them. Besides the readings on sockets themselves are not upside down.
Just fyi the Hansen socket organizers are designed for the sockets to be stored hex side down. Then the numbers on the stick show up better, along with the drive size of the socket being visible (3/8, 1/2 etc). Great videos man, I'm subscribed.
Excellent selection of tools
Awesome like always
Awesome video! Thanks!
I like your laid back style how you present information. Great job! 👌
I really learned something today about collecting and choosing my tools correctly and to add to my tools collection great and awesome video! Thx Ortiz
Love the Humerus side of the channel bro.
Excellent video and great tools. Thanks for the funny :-)
zrkn1 putting a flywheel into a 2000 Ford F-150 what would the transmission mess up
Good tips. I’ve been slowly growing my tool selection and wasn’t sure which ratchet to get.
Snap on there pricy for a d.i.y guy but coming from a professional mechanic who uses them every dah and abuses them there worth the money
@@bjgjnubby5084 BS nothing about Snap-on that much better, other tool makers have similar warranties without the outrageous pricing.
This dude cheaps out on ratchets. You can get a 1/4", 3/8", AND a 1/2" ratchet on the "Professional" line from Harbor Freight for under $50. I've never broke one. Even if you do, they have lifetime warranties and will exchange it for a new one right there on the spot. They look good, I've never broken one or had an issue with any of mine that I bought a decade ago. I've put them through the ringer too using them professionally virtually everyday. Don't use reducing adapters either. They dont take much to break. A 3/8" are made the torque applied on a 3/8" ratchet. If you need to reduce down to use a 3/8", just buy a long handled 3/8" $20USD. Its something you buy once but have forever. Most of the time, you use it more than once. If he can afford to buy long handled ratcheting wrenches, there's no reason he can't afford long handled ratchets to do it right
Amazon is good, but Harbor Freight has the lowest prices for sockets, adapters, extensions and wrenches.
None have failed on me yet.
P V make sure not to use them or the China(harbor freight) store will disappoint you
Lol nice... The bloopers are funny
This dude is great
Really good video
Thanks for the video. The newer Milwaukee cordless ratchets have better power but far from an impact. I gave my old model to a friend when I upgraded and he loves it!
1. Yeah, man! Great videos! Lots of help. Especially the one when you examine a used car for sale. Thank you very much for it.
2. I also would like you to start a DIY car repair/ maintenance videos series for complete noobs like myself.
3. Please make a video on 5 most reliable cars under 10,000 dollars.
Thank you again. You are a very knowledgeable man and I will continue to support your channel.
those xl flex extended head ratchet wrenches are super sweet.
Thanks for the links!!!
I personally prefer the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh swivel head 3/8 ratchet. Although the quality of the build has gone down in recent years (plastic seems to be utilized in the mechanism), their ratchets can get the majority of the work done at any angle. There is a huge difference in the design of the head compared to flex head ratchets, and I implore you to investigate that for yourself.
Also, I have a set of Stanley locking flex ratchet wrenches. Just like how you mention that a flex head ratchet that is flimsy can cause you more grievance, a locking flex ratchet wrench definitely comes in handy. I am intrigued by your recommendation of an offset, I'll be looking for a set of locking flex ratchet wrenches with the offset box
Great video .I hope you are ok from the fall 😁
Good tools
Cool video! Power tools make your life a little easy!
I bought me a Gearwrench through socket set many years ago the only socket set I've ever needed
Lolol. I watched it twice and laughed twice as much. Good video
Your list are the best. Right to the point
Very profitable clean up after hacks that don’t have a clue!
You can get a Milwaukee impact driver, brand new on Ebay for 36 bucks tool only. MUCH better than Chicago electric, and it uses the same batteries as the ratchet. My favorite tool of all time is the Milwaukee m12 3/8" stubby fuel impact gun. So small and has 250 ft lbs torque. $199 for the kit w charger and 2 batteries online
AND a case of beer? Lol.
i like the new video style
Amazing tutorial videos absolutely the best channel and a UA-cam star!
I got same box end ratcheting wrench set by ATD tools branded as Platinum similar to Mountain before starting a timing belt job. They are extremely useful in hard to reach areas. Another important feature is reversible lever which prevents ratchet to be locked in a tight place when removing a bolt.
Good to see you back making videos. I hope once you're settled in your new place you'll also continue with your A6 project car.
Keep doing what ya doing, Fantastic help. Liked when you said "Dont Call me".
Great video. Thanks. Wish all Iranians were as cool as you are.
my favourite tool is the flashlight.i got a streamlight stylus pro with a 15 minute charger.pretty good stuff.
Thank you for your videos. I just purchased the E-Z Red redhead expendable ratchet as a part of doing my first DIG timing belt, water pump, and crank/cam seals on my RX300. Wrench worked great on both flex and extra leverage on extension. They have upgraded the wrench so the head locks in place by pressing a button on the side of it. I'm normally a Harbor Freight person but their version doesn't have the head click/lock you recommended. I got mine for $26 bucks on Amazon. Only $5 bucks more than H-F with better features.
DIY
Great channel. Credit for adding the spill, loved it.
He spilled something???
glad to see you again
I see that you're working on a Chevy Cruze with the 1.8 liter Ecotec engine. Good car , but I have to replace my oil cooler on my 2015 Cruze LS. Pain in the ass job because of location , and your tool selection helped me in what to buy to access difficult places. Great video as usual from your channel.
Good video, I've watched your other videos and I really do appreciate your support and time for us folks who don't know to much on automobiles. Keep up the good work
I love my ratchet wrench. Yes it was expensive but as a time saver it's awesome. I do like your socket organiser, clearly visible sizes are great. I paint the sizes on the side of the sockets with a white paint pen. I do like the look of your long bendy wrenches, they look sweet!
Add RnW to the short list of people I'd like to have a few beers with before I die.
good video
ICON TOOLS FROM HARBOR FREIGHT ARE LEGIT . Ratcheting Wrenches are the shit !!! @ratchets and wrenches
Awesome channel always dependable when you need it!
You are putting the sockets on in the wrong direction in the Hansen socket holder. The drive end should face up. Another great tip for these socket organizers is if you put the Deep Wells on the short pegs you can put one set of shallow sockets with the drive size up on the tall pigs ( I put 12 point sockets on the bottom) and 6 point sockets face up on top of the 12 point sockets save Room in the toolbox
Love your vids keep'um coming.....
$100 and a case of beer. LOL that is a lot of money. LOL you are awesome
That ratchet is dope! Haha
I Replace that Harbor Freight Impact with a BOSCH PS4(from a Pawn) years ago. Not only its smaller and shorter(for tight spaces), its also has more Impact. Nothing is smaller than Bosch...
The New PS42 is brushless(i dont have).
Love your uncut video :)
Really enjoy your videos!
I thumbed up and subscribed after you fell in the video.
you won't be dissapointed. he's hilarious. But I haven't seen a video from him in a while.
6:47 Best Part!!!!!
LOL!!! I agree. :D
This guy should have his on TV show on the learning channel. 👌
i have that same compressor. great video.
Good info great video as always. Thanks
7:50 you have the sockets upside down. Turn them other way around, and they fit better and the size is more visible
Great video!!! My favorite tool is actually 2 tools, my 1/4 drive Milwaukee m12 & my 3/8 m12 Fuel, my goodness do they save time & arm pump!!! Subbed!!!
For the impatient: the action happens at 6:42. Great video, by the way.
Since you already have the Milwaukee, get the stubby impact.
Or if you don’t want to spend 200.00 Dewalt has the new 12v xtreme impact wrench for 99.99
i prefer the black and decker impact gun.
Ahhh I have an ecotec engine too 😆✌
Ur funny as hell and informative I wanna b like u when I grow up
Nice vid bro..... love those tools.... but I know it's pretty expensive....
my tool that gets exited no thats not the one. 😂😂 im dead
The Hanson socket organizers are okay, but the rods that ID and support the sockets break very easily. I gave up on them and now use magnetic trays or socket holders. They provide better support when moving them around, there's no breakage and it's easy to remove/reinstall sockets with one hand compared to using those thin rails socket sets come on. I use Mechanic's Time Savers (MTS), but there are several brands out there that would probably work fine, too.
Can't believe you don't put a big hammer in the top five!
Golo1949--Part of having a big hammer is knowing WHEN (and especially WHEN NOT) to use it. If something won't come off easily, first ask yourself "why?" and try to logically find a work-around. Check UA-cam and other resources; maybe you missed a cotter pin, there's a bit of corrosion or something else equally basic. If you've exhausted all the possibilities, then use the extra force. Remember: With great power comes great responsibility (otherwise known as "You break it, you pay for it".).
4lbs mini sledge for the win lol love mine
I thought of a top 5 before I played the video and you had all the same tools Id pick Lol.
holy shit that extendable ratchet is cool, didnt know something like that existed
you do a really nice job
you are awesome, i am following your channel, interesting .... thanks for your work
