I was brought up with bubble and squeak too we have it every Boxing Day with all the leftovers from Christmas Day with the rest of the turkey yummy yummy Rik lovely 😊
Hi Rick I have been laid up at home after a month in hospital. I have found you YouYube cooking videos absolutely fascinating. I am now the proud owner of a HYSA air fryer. Magic bit of kit. Really enjoy my time in the kitchen now, thanks to your refreshing ideas. I am recovering well with my dodgy knee moving around in the kitchen. The best medicine anyone could give me is your wonderful quick recipes. Thanks again. 80 year old veteran. Chip
A true classic Rik ...... I've never had any since my early teens and boy have I longed for it ever since ...... my Mams fry up as we called it was totally delicious .... thanks for doing this Rik
Thanks for sharing this. I have had it and still make it for years to have as our tea, sometimes with sausages. Love how you have used cabbage as that is proper bubble and squeak! I use to cook extra vegetables on purpose just so we could have it. I watch and love all your videos, but have to comment, that as being hard of hearing, I find that background music sound distracting.
Yes, I don't use any music anymore! That when I fist started and I thought it had to be made that way - No more! Love how you make more veggies, I used to do that! Best, Rik
Have always wondered what Bubble & Squeak was and thought the name was quite funny! Will definitely give this a go, next time I have leftover mashed potatoes.
Yeah dont worry about Pork bacon etc - its about the fry up of leftover mash potato and all the veggies -you know another way which is nice fry up the veggies and mash take out half - put some mozzarella in put the veggie mix back on top - flatten it - sprinkle over some cheddar and stick under a grill - it crisps up on top - delicious!!!
You nailed it again Rik my mum always made it with mashed spuds and cabbage I have said it before you need your own show to highlight real English food not this hyped up Crap we get that has been aAmericanised it is British food and we all should be proud of our heritage not ashamed 😊f it good work Rik from Robbie and Harley the British bulldog❤r😊
@@BackyardChef mate I’m cooking that tomorrow for me and my baby girl Harlequin that’s her full name ( Harley for short ) she is the most lovable dog I have ever had and if I like it Harley does . Great succulent dish Rik all the best 😀🐾🐾

No, American hash consists of meat, potato and onion, all chopped and fried, the potatoes are not mashed and there's no cabbage. Most Americans either have no idea what this is OR they call it by its proper name of bubble and squeak.
Haven't had this years , now I'm craving it 😍
Have ya had a bubble and squeak sandwich 😂😂😂😂😂 Elvis would love it

I love the recipe, only the bacon for me is to much burn. I don't eat pork but i can make it with beef. Thank you so much 💛.
