Ten months after. I have to say, I never really liked Worf on DS9; I found him a static character personally, and he always wound up at the center of a swirling maelstrom of tiresome Klingon monoculture. Also, "The Way of the Warrior" brought about a shift in DS9. It was still good afterward, but I don't think it was _as_ good; the stakes were raised to a level that a show with such a limited production budget couldn't consistently do justice toward. That being said, I do like that it gave someone, at least, a chance to react to the loss of the _Enterprise-D._ Data just wanted to rescue his cat, Picard chucked his priceless artifact gift from his mentor aside and talked about time being a companion on the journey, and the next time we saw the rest of them, they'd settled into the much drabber _Enterprise-E_ with nary a thought for the dear old gal . . . There was a fun little bit of continuity at the end of this clip, when Quark makes a snide remark about how Worf only drinks prune juice. Guinan introduced him to it on TNG, and his response was "a warrior's drink" :)

What the heck happened to just hearing people out on both sides and people trying to get along trying to do better? Isn't that Star Trek in a nutshell?
O'BRIEN: So if you’re quitting the life, what’ll you do? WORF: That’s what I’ve been sitting here contemplating. First, I’m gonna deliver this case to Sisko. Then, basically, I’m gonna walk the earth. O'BRIEN: What do you mean, walk the earth? WORF: You know, like Caine in “KUNG FU.” Just walk from town to town, meet people, get in adventures. O'BRIEN: How long do you intend to walk the earth? WORF: Until God puts me where he want me to be. O'BRIEN: What if He never does? WORF: If it takes forever, I’ll wait forever. O'BRIEN: So you decided to be a bum? WORF: I’ll just be Worf, O'Brien - no more, no less. O'BRIEN: No Worf, you’re gonna be like those pieces of shit out there who beg for change. They walk around like a bunch of fuckin’ zombies, they sleep in garbage bins, they eat what I throw away, and dogs piss on ’em. They got a word for ’em, they’re called bums. And without a job, residence, or legal tender, that’s what you’re gonna be - a fuckin’ bum! O'BRIEN: Stop fuckin’ talkin’ like that! WORF: If you find my answers frightening, O'Brien, you should cease askin’ scary questions.
I would have loved to have that conversation with worf. I would have looked him in the eye and said “ Change is the way of things, sometimes we have to change to evolve”. “ For you Mr Worf this is fate offering you the ultimate challenge, this is going to be possibly the biggest challenge in your life, now how can you turn that down?”
I think the Dominion war was what really made that pan out for Worf. He saw quite a bit of battle and earned a ton of honor. He even helped save the real Martok and helped Martok regain his warrior spirit.
So how long exactly is this meant to be set since the Enterprise-D was destroyed in Generations? Weeks? Months? A year? Presumably a year or so before First Contact as they're still wearing TNG and DS9/VOY uniforms. Plus O'Brien's dialogue at 1:18 indicates the Enterprise-E either hasn't been built yet or possibly in early construction.
@@hyhena-gaming9986 I think you misunderstand, Generations is the name of the first Star Trek TNG movie, Star Trek 7, where the enterprise d was destroyed, that's what people were referencing, not a period of time
Not many characters can call Worf out like that and get away with it. He knows O'Brien has been through it all. It's the kind of mutual understanding and respect you can only find between men cut from the same cloth.
O'Brien was the one who closed his eyes while transporting Worf to Duras' ship without permission. Worf owes him a big one, and the entire alpha quadrant owes O'Brien for allowing that single act to occur, else Duras would've been Chancellor.
No, it would not be the same. The Sovereign-class _Enterprise_ is, in my opinion a beautiful update and homage to the Connie. Sleek, low-profile, an aggressive yet sweeping design. At the same time you would never want to see her coming at you, you could see the design inspiration in her too. She was powerful, yet graceful at the same time. We knew her for too short a time. The double neck and curved nacelles of the Odyssey-class took awhile to grow on me, but Iles's design looked like a natural progression from a flagship class designed for war more to Starfleet's roots as explorers and diplomats. _STO_ players had over 10 years with the class and her variants. Those who only watch _Trek_ got what, two scenes with the _F_ , and they didn't get her bridge right. I liked Shelby as a Fleet Admiral, but they did her dirty. But the _Titan_ ... That's a mess. Misnamed (she should have been the _B_ not the _A_ since there was a previous _Titan_ , like there was a previous _Defiant_ ), repeatedly beaten up, and renamed when she had her own legacy. If _Star Trek: Legacy_ does come t fruition, I hope they rename her _Titan-B_ . Starfleet can wait a few years without an _Enterprise_, they already have. Make it a good decision that makes sense instead. For God's sake, we're not even looking at 2409, which is when the _STO_ timeline begins, and we're saying the Oddy is old enough to be decommissioned if damaged? Absurd. If that's the case, what about Nog's _Chimera_ ?
I think your overthinking it and the E was too much of the wrong way for the TNG group like they kinda overcompensated for the fact that the enterprise D was always having its warp core blow up and look weak thanks to the writing staff always using that as a shortcut to build up tension when the thing looks like it would take a week for a torpedo to even effect the stardrive at all which was the funny thing about DS9 and this scene, its like the writers cared more for the enterprise D than the TNG group did like hey, WE LIKED THAT SHIP! and they never made her look weak in any of the fleet scenes where they used galaxy's for fire support which is kinda why it being back and this time having all of its weapons installed AND functioning made such a huge impact with the fanbase as the thing got taken out by a bird of prey when they easily could have just headbutted the damn thing and won by default and even in Nemesis, where they had a scrapped refit version of the E that finally looked good what ship would have been ideal for Ramming the Scimitar with given its detachable saucer that's about the size of a planet and they still need to explain how he did it, and where the stardrive came from, like I hope they kinda say he finally got that green warp core working and that was the difference between the all good things and the one in generations that one had the good warp core in it, and the other didnt, and now we finally get that good one back as she should have been granted I will say, the E deserved a better end than one line and a lead on, but intentions count for alot and honestly I'd gladly Trade the E to get her back as honestly the best version of the E ive ever seen was the one in armada as that future ship that comes back to warn of a better borg invasion than what we got in first contact the USS premonition, which is ironically done up in a very similar style to the titan, kinda making that make sense in retrospect also Worf's ship had the name that should have been given to the Defiant's replacement in this the USS Avenger, like the Defiant, and the Avenger, both good names that fit the theme of the names they had for the defiants in the show

Worf was basically a canary (canary in the mine shaft) used to show how bad the bad guys were usually in tng. also, he was also getting denied and not listened to in tng. he's much better on DS9.
Your opinion only, which is wrong.
"Chief--Do you remember the time we rescued Captain Picard from the Borg?"
(scoffs) "How could I forget?"
Yeah, really! Come on Worf, that's like asking a New York firefighter if he remembers 9/11, or a D-Day veteran if he remembers landing at Normandy.
Considering he's also the one who physically apprehended Locutus, it's probably burned into his mind.
He is asking a rhetorical question to advance and justify the conversation and decision.
Klingons suck at small-talk, what did you expect? They don't even have a word for 'hello'.
@@asnaghall They do the translation is " What do you want ? " So yeah suck at small talk
@@oldguy3027 The usage has more to do with a subordinate making a request of a superior, or as a way of saying "Why haven't you started talking yet?! Say something already!!", rather than an actual greeting.

My thoughts
Definitely. Sadly, it is only getting worse.
Lower Decks is pretty good
Blame the pathetic FAKE trekkies trashing Star Trek now just because it's not what they grew up with.
News flash. IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THE SAME TREK! GET THE FUCK OVER YOURSELVES AND ENJOY WHAT WE HAVE NOW!
@@andrewxu3602 Strange New Worlds is actually pretty decent since it feels like classic Star Trek. I wouldn't even dare to watch Discovery or Picard. Why continue Picards story when it was already completed?
As Scotty said to Picard, Worf, You'll never love again the same way with your first. be it a starship or a women. Just gotta move on a appreciate the time you had, and the experiences as a fond memory of life.
Oh trust me Worf, you and your enterprise D family are gonna get one huge chance to revisit the glory days in about 30 years.
I feel exactly like Worf right now. And, like him, it looks as if I’ll be staying where I am too, despite the good years being over- at least for now. They don’t make relatable television like this anymore. The nineties were good years in some ways, too…
See the best in new beginnings and do your best to make every moment count. :) Best of luck to you.
"Those Were The Good Years" ...
yeaaaaaah, remember getting ganked by barrels, getting thrown around by whatever alien of the week you were facing, never being allowed to fire on enemy ships cos Picard wants to try out the latest monologue he has been practicing..... GOOD FKIN TIMES AMARITE!!! xD
And all the other recommendations and suggestions Worf made but kept being rejected.
For a Klingon that's merry fuckin' Christmas.
@@johnwayne8494 I surprised Worf didn't a least once Say "Hard Daddy" when Picard rejected one of his suggestion.
And Wolf still loved it.
However his replacement spine seems to be holding up well.
one of the best trek eps ever...of any series.
TOS was best is starting us on our way, TNG was best in philosophy, DS9 was best in character development.
And Voyager?

Worf my favorite Klingon. A warrior worth following to the end.
"Alexander _is_ much happier living with his grandparents on Earth than he ever was staying with me."

Quarks line "what do i care? All he ever drinks is prune juice", shows that he cares enough to remember what he enjoys
Quark is an excellent businessman and better bartender.
Ohh I adore Worf! More videos with him please!😊
Worf, I miss Enterprise D too. It was a kickass ship, kickass crew including YOU & adventure those of Us in real-time can only imagine let alone play behind their Joysticks like myself. It was a worthy product of it's time & can never be replaced. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭RIP ENTERPRISE D.
Worf will always be my favorite Trek character! Him being such a central character upon his arrival at DS9 is just one reason DS9 is my favorite Trek series.
Worf did for DS9 what Seven of Nine did for Voyager. Well, kind of. He was a good addition.
DS9 did just as much for Worf tbh. Seven carried Voyager though
I wondered where the Enterprise D crashing fell into the timeline. Now I know.
We *all* miss the Enterprise, Chief.
But he preferred the weapons systems on the E. Additional phaser arrays, torpedo launchers!
Thankfully, the D is back in action.
Would have loved more scenes like this, but the way O'Brien delivers the "I thought we'd all end up assimilated" was wince-inducing.
Worf "Those were Good Years"

Tom Paris: *Tokyo Drifts in Space*
Quark driving away good customers and Worf did not even tear up the joint.
Honestly, was that a 5D Chess move?
Quark a Ferengi, known for his good hearing and for listening in on other people's conversations walks up to 2 people just chatting and says something that gets them to leave.
Was he trying to clear the Table for other Customers or for a business deal etc..?
"All he ever drinks is Prune Juice."
Well then, raise the price a bit here, and a bit there..
"It will not be the same! The _Enterprise_ I knew is gone!"
_years later_
"I prefer the weapons systems of the E."
Troi:"WORF!!!"
Well Enterprise-E did become his first command after Picard was promoted to Admiral and left the ship.
Worf is hardcore
It's funny that this clip popped up on my feed. I am in the exact same situation as Commander Worf in my own life at this very moment. My unit is not the same as it was years ago, I feel I no longer serve any purpose, but am an empty uniform. But to do what after resigning? I do not know.
There are times that I miss the Enterprise-d as well to. she was a good ship.
Me too.
The irony of Worf later preferring the Enterprise-E enough to nearly trash-talk the Enterprise-D.
Blame it on the Enterprise-E becoming his first true command.
It's funny to hear a War Story being referenced and you actually remember that war story yourself unlike Black Widow and Hawkeye bringing up Budapest or Supernatural bringing up Omaha still don't know what those two situations are about
Or Constantine bringing up Newcastle

Worf "the enterprise I knew is gone....because stupid Ryker forgot to rotate the shield frequency against an outdated Bird of Prey"
rotating the shield frequencies wouldn't work as geordi visor has been compromised unless geordi doesn't look at that monitor all the time. point is riker could've just ordered all weapons to fire on the BOP and well blow her up old fashion style
Quark: I'm glad you got rid of all those Klingons
Worf: I see the Ferengi has chosen death, which will be a glorious death! For me at least.
"What about your son?"
"I've been ignoring him for years, why start now?"
1:54 ya know, most klingons would just say "dishonored"
he believes in an objective honor that is not predicated on being recognized.
Must be just after the movie generations
Ten months after.
I have to say, I never really liked Worf on DS9; I found him a static character personally, and he always wound up at the center of a swirling maelstrom of tiresome Klingon monoculture. Also, "The Way of the Warrior" brought about a shift in DS9. It was still good afterward, but I don't think it was _as_ good; the stakes were raised to a level that a show with such a limited production budget couldn't consistently do justice toward.
That being said, I do like that it gave someone, at least, a chance to react to the loss of the _Enterprise-D._ Data just wanted to rescue his cat, Picard chucked his priceless artifact gift from his mentor aside and talked about time being a companion on the journey, and the next time we saw the rest of them, they'd settled into the much drabber _Enterprise-E_ with nary a thought for the dear old gal . . . [axy-class starship].
Everyone else did.
this usually happens in the armed services, people get reassigned or moved on to more comfortable positions, its non-negotiable.
Willem DaFuckedUp Not really
Willem DaFuckedUp You’re wrong about that too.
There was a fun little bit of continuity at the end of this clip, when Quark makes a snide remark about how Worf only drinks prune juice. Guinan introduced him to it on TNG, and his response was "a warrior's drink" :)
thank God for star trek
I remember for christmas when I was 8 years old in 1993 i got the Enterprise d for christmas and I was very excited but when I saw the enterprise d crash on the planet on generations it was sad to say goodbye to the enterprise d but then about 2 months ago on star trek Picard and they got the enterprise d back I was happy there was something very special about the Enterprise d she was the best Galaxy class ship in star trek history. Granted there was other Galaxy class ships but the Enterprise D she was the best galaxy class ship
That's the kind of conversation Star Trek fans have now when they reminisce about TNG-era Trek while enduring STD and STP era Trek
Enterprise is now considered "good years" by default.
@@takerdust it's funny how that happened 🤣
@@increasepeace4996 😂 Tell me about it. Instead of telling well written science fiction stories with good characters that Star Trek is known, we have to deal with a "dark and gritty" tone with badly written episodes and very unlikeable characters that just are hateful people and show political bias! What the heck happened to just hearing people out on both sides and people trying to get along trying to do better? Isn't that Star Trek in a nutshell?
O'BRIEN:
So if you’re quitting the life, what’ll you do?
WORF:
That’s what I’ve been sitting here contemplating. First, I’m gonna deliver this case to Sisko. Then, basically, I’m gonna walk the earth.
O'BRIEN:
What do you mean, walk the earth?
WORF:
You know, like Caine in “KUNG FU.” Just walk from town to town, meet people, get in adventures.
O'BRIEN:
How long do you intend to walk the earth?
WORF:
Until God puts me where he want me to be.
O'BRIEN:
What if He never does?
WORF:
If it takes forever, I’ll wait forever.
O'BRIEN:
So you decided to be a bum?
WORF:
I’ll just be Worf, O'Brien - no more, no less.
O'BRIEN:
No Worf, you’re gonna be like those pieces of shit out there who beg for change.
WORF:
Look my friend, this is just where me and you differ -
O'BRIEN:
- what happened was peculiar - no doubt about it - but it wasn’t water into wine.
WORF:
All shapes and sizes, Miles.
O'BRIEN:
Stop fuckin’ talkin’ like that!
WORF:
If you find my answers frightening, O'Brien, you should cease askin’ scary questions.
O'brien has suffered so much yet never considered resigning from starfleet, meanwhile Worf wants to quit because he's homesick for the Enterprise lol.
Don’t worry Worf, in about 30 years, after you kill its replacement, the Enterprise you knew will be resurrected by Geordi !!!!
"The Enterprise I knew is gone!" - Hold that thought, Worf....
Came back to watch this scene after Geordi's reveal.
Worf on DS9 was where his character became more than just “Klingon on the Enterprise.”
Worf... Dad Of The Year...
Don't worry Worfie, you'll stand on the deck of the Enterprise D one last time...
O'Brien was correct. Being ostracized by Klingons means Worf has all the more reason to stay in Starfleet.
I think the Dominion war was what really made that pan out for Worf. He saw quite a bit of battle and earned a ton of honor. He even helped save the real Martok and helped Martok regain his warrior spirit.
I forgot how much of a chipmunk grin O'Brien had.
Those WERE good years.
Andrew Chapman I think it was in early Construction
@Andrew Gold USS Honorius.
Well considering work is commanding the defiant, in the later movies, it can't be generatins later, a generation is 20-25 years
@@hyhena-gaming9986 I think you misunderstand, Generations is the name of the first Star Trek TNG movie, Star Trek 7, where the enterprise d was destroyed, that's what people were referencing, not a period of time
@@samcochran8203 And it was called that because they were bridging Kirk and Picard's generations.
Not many characters can call Worf out like that and get away with it. He knows O'Brien has been through it all. It's the kind of mutual understanding and respect you can only find between men cut from the same cloth.
Yeah the special bond of O’Brien and Worf’s dad
O'Brien was the one who closed his eyes while transporting Worf to Duras' ship without permission. Worf owes him a big one, and the entire alpha quadrant owes O'Brien for allowing that single act to occur, else Duras would've been Chancellor.
After watching Picard season 3 episode 9...
Worf sounds very unhappy here, but he must have worked through his issues because he stayed.
He switched to the Command Branch of Starfleet and was made sector laison officer or something similar.
I think your overthinking it and the E was too much of the wrong way for the TNG group like they kinda overcompensated for the fact that the enterprise D was always having its warp core blow up and look weak thanks to the writing staff always using that as a shortcut to build up tension
when the thing looks like it would take a week for a torpedo to even effect the stardrive at all
which was the funny thing about DS9 and this scene, its like the writers cared more for the enterprise D than the TNG group did
like hey, WE LIKED THAT SHIP! and they never made her look weak in any of the fleet scenes where they used galaxy's for fire support
which is kinda why it being back and this time having all of its weapons installed AND functioning made such a huge impact with the fanbase
as the thing got taken out by a bird of prey when they easily could have just headbutted the damn thing and won by default
and even in Nemesis, where they had a scrapped refit version of the E that finally looked good
what ship would have been ideal for Ramming the Scimitar with given its detachable saucer that's about the size of a planet
and they still need to explain how he did it, and where the stardrive came from, like I hope they kinda say he finally got that green warp core working
and that was the difference between the all good things and the one in generations
that one had the good warp core in it, and the other didnt, and now we finally get that good one back as she should have been
granted I will say, the E deserved a better end than one line and a lead on, but intentions count for alot and honestly I'd gladly Trade the E to get her back
as honestly the best version of the E ive ever seen was the one in armada as that future ship that comes back to warn of a better borg invasion than what we got in first contact
the USS premonition, which is ironically done up in a very similar style to the titan, kinda making that make sense in retrospect
also Worf's ship had the name that should have been given to the Defiant's replacement in this
the USS Avenger, like the Defiant, and the Avenger, both good names that fit the theme of the names they had for the defiants in the show
What the heck is the Titan?
