After reading your comment, I now want to see that one futuristic _Sonic CD_ special stage with the _Blade Runner_ -esque metropolis at night repurposed into the Neon Night-Riders level from the Super NES port of _Turtles in Time_ , but with Sonic running along the highway destroying Foot Soldiers on hoverboards and gyrocopters, LOL.

It really is a shame, really... While I haven't really heard the entire Japanese soundtrack for Sonic CD, I'd say that both soundtracks sound REALLY good! I personally have preferred the US soundtrack much more due to how atmospheric it sounds compared to the JP soundtrack. Not to mention, SEGA put a lot of effort in both soundtracks, so I don't clearly understand why some people dislike the US soundtrack 'cause there clearly IS effort put into it. It's also not nearly as bad as Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (its soundtrack is just so bland and forgettable) and Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (try listening to its soundtrack... if you can even call it a soundtrack. It's REALLY bad)... not even close.

It's a shame how many people are closed-minded to the US OST. It's just as good as the JP one; just has a different atmosphere.

I only recently listened to the US soundtrack and I adore it. Its so atmospheric...
In both regions, Stardust Speedway was TOP tier. So GOOD!
