Could you please talk about hip lateral distraction / pathology's or current / past medical history you would not use this mobilization technique of hip lateral distraction? I'm trying to understand why moving patients leg away from your body could be injurious to the patient. If the therapist does not have the hip lateral distraction belt in the hip crease? If the belt is six inches lower on the femur and the therapist does a Faber or Patrick's test, flexion, abduction and external rotation and putting weight on the belt. I would think that would injure the patients sacrum if they have any pathology, osteoporosis / osteopenia? What tests of the hip would you say are "Prudent tests" to be done before hip lateral distraction. If my patient can't do the squat test. Can't do the stork test on the leg I want to perform on "hip lateral distraction on" . I would want to do Faber / Patrick's test to see if patient in figure four complains of pain in the sacrum. Then look for sacrum distortion? If the sacrum is over an innominate, do mobilization then repeat Faber / Patrick's test. If Patient still has pain, refer back to physical therapy referring physician. Help.. just trying to understand as a student.
Bro I’ve had so many problems with osteitis pubis and can’t get my hip flexors sorted.. a specialist once told me to stop exercising and move on.. I literally can’t do continuous exercise without them hurting so bad I’ve to rest for days on end. It’s been going on for 2.5 years please help
Love this technique, use a pillow between the strap near the groin! You are amazing 😻 love your vids!
And or a wider belt too, gait belts work well too!
I use this and love when it used on me as well. Thank you
