  • Raisina Dialouge 2024 | As the Chinese new year begins, this panel will evaluate the state of the country’s economy, and whether it is still making friends across the world. What are the prospects for the Chinese economy in 2024? Does it inspire the same confidence in investors that it did a few years ago? What are the differing approaches and interest groups when it comes to China policy in the European Union and the United States? Which group has the upper hand in determining policy at the moment? Is Beijing’s footprint in the world - especially in Russia and Latin America - going to increase or decrease in the coming year?
    Speakers:
    Jorge Quiroga, Former President, Bolivia
Noah Barkin, Senior Advisor, China Practice - Rhodium Group, Germany

This mindset of always thinking you are right.
You know what is good for everybody,so want to control their preferences is a very flawed mindset.
How old are most of these Europeans countries and especially the US.
Western civilization and dominance has not exceeded a thousand years.
Both China and Russia are some of the oldest countries....
And you think they will allow the West to lecture them on what to do.
You must accept that not every country would prefer democracy.
Not every country will accept your values.
The important thing is how do we live together despite our differences.

It's very suspected to see that some of these observers are not realising whether China is willing to escalate the tension in terms of Taiwan because the last time when China annexed Tibet, the situation was quite obvious and very sustained or stabled one with India. And remember the "Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai" slogans in the market. But then suddenly China showed its expansionist colours and the world just woke from the dream that time and saw the signs of a new imperialist nation. Now history is gonna witness a new period where the geography of a few nations is going to be reshaped. I personally think that China is only waiting for America's and a few major countries to go for elections and then the show will begin.

India funds 0.65% of its GDP on science and technology research. China does 2.43%, US 3.46% and Germany around 3.14%. in absolute dollar terms the difference is even more shameful. If India needs to outcompete the rest of the world, increase its HDI then we need to value basic research. You dont need a think tank sunmit to understand what must be done.
