  • ORF hosted a Book Discussion on ‘India's Moment: Changing Power Equations around the World’, authored by Ambassador Mohan Kumar. In India’s Moment, veteran diplomat Mohan Kumar, who has represented India in multiple international forums over his career, examines the shifts in global power equations over the decades and traces how India’s position has evolved over time. A central contention of this book is that India has moved, slowly but surely, from being an alleged naysayer to becoming a putative partner for the world in key multilateral negotiations.
    Speakers:
Amb Mohan Kumar, former Indian Amb to France; Dean, Strategic and International Initiatives, O.P. Jindal Global University
Dr Samir Saran, President, Observer Research Foundation (ORF)
Prof Harsh V. Pant, Vice President, Studies and Foreign Policy, Observer Research Foundation (ORF)
Amb Arun Kumar Singh, former Indian Ambassador to France, US and Israel.
Dr Arpita Mukherjee, Professor, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER)

Is there reciprocity? That question never asked by author . We don't open professions unless there is reciprocity

Everything else was great untill he said farmers dont know what they want, please send this scholar sitting in AC to farm for a day, one honest day of work at a farm.
Every small fluction in rupee, prices of fertilizers, diesel effects these farmers. Every drop of rain, a single pest, a single disease, a single shift in monsoon, draughts and fires, nutrition loss in crops, global climate, every degree in global warming affects these farmers. Yet they suck it up year after year, continue to do actual honest hard work in every climate, hot or cold, make our environment better.
And i dont think, any scholar sitting in a AC next to a computer and mic, has any rights to call farmer's cry for help nonsensical.
    (Correct me if I'm wrong)
And as said beautifully by a famous Racer/Tv host turned farmer, "Everytime a farmer is nagging over something, please get the man a beer, beacause he isn't nagging, he is actually going through hell".
