I downloaded the EaseUS Partition Master and when I hit Format, I got the message "Unable to perform conversion because the disk is in a read-only state. It didn't work for me. sigh

For anyone who is having trouble.. do as they say and take your time. If you have multiple USBs connected.. do not click disk 2.. click your own. Also if it is still not working, re try and make sure it is the same way they have done it and keep going back if you need to. It was not working for me and I was typing it a little wrong. Works again now :D I never really put a thumbs up, unless it actually works and this does.. Thank you

it's not working with me, every time I try to format my write-protected flash drive using EaseUS Parition a message "The operation is not complete because the media is write-protected" always pops up. How to solve this?

same problem by clearing the attribute , i think it's because of a non authorized file inside the drive like when you wanted to copy or move the file

After i follow youre use of the free version of EaseUS Partition Master, i right-click format on the pen drive. it cannot "execute operation", it says 'The operation did not completer because the media is write-protected' please help

It says Read Only : NO is the cmd but still when I am trying to format it , it says that it is write protected, and there is no NEW FOLDER or file option available in the USB . Can you please help?

It didnt work for me sadly, i followed along though with hopes that it would.. its still write protected, my coworker was copying some files over that I needed and it just randomly became write protected.. i have another flash drive that did the exact same thing and none of this worked for it either

I have followed both of the cmd command and the software you mentioned but unfortunately I am unable to get rid of the problem..... write projected in my pen drive.
cuando intento bootear ese iso que dejaste no arranca se queda la pantalla negra con ese mensaje "Minimal BASH-LIKE LINE EDITHING I SUPPORED" PARESE QUE EL ISO ESTA MAL
Worked for me, so thanks for the help. To those still having issues with it, you need to unplug the USB once you've completed the steps, then plug it back in. It appeared to still be write protected for me at first, but it just needed to 'reset' so to speak.

This worked for me teh first time it happened.
Not sure why this drive became write protected again, but going through the same process again, it did not work this time.
I tried the COMMAND PROMPT method as well... did not work
At this point I am furious as I have many important files on this and can access them all, but cannot add any more or delete anything.
Why is this happening with this drive?
It didn't work for me and I cannot format the drive as I would lose all my files. I even used software to try and recover the files and that didn't work. All my files are still on the USB drive but I cannot open them or copy them as there is a padlock symbol next to them. Any other way to overcome this problem?
You missed one step after this process remove the pd and insert again it will works

Thanks it worked in my case.
I removed the sd card while formatting it in linux and one partition on it became unallocated. Though disk management didn't detect it but diskpart and easeus did. At last I formatted the unallocated space from easeus and it worked. And I was doubting this video the entire time after seeing comments but anyways tried it. Maybe others are having different issues.
Thanks for this but I still can't fixed my flash drive . I can open and still access the files inside my drive the only problem is that when I copy a file from my laptop to transfer it to the drive it won't copy and appear to be write protected. I have tried it several times 😢

When I right click on the disk in EaseUS the Format option doesn't show up. Only Wipe DIsk, Initialize to MBR, Surface Test, and Properties

its a month later but I got it to work using following; Open a command Prompt as administrator (cmd.exe)
Type Diskpart and press Enter
Type List Disk and press Enter
Type Select Disk X (where X is the disk number of your USB drive) and press Enter
Type Clean and press Enter
Type Create Partition Primary and press Enter
@@englishwithnataliaandriy3935 I think it can not be done unless you are the same PC that put the write -protection there in the first place. In my case it was a PC at target where I took my drive to print photos. That PC is apparently gone since I tried putting the USB drive in one that was in the same spot but it didn't fix it. Why can't someone write a universal routine that can quickly fix this problem? They would make a fortune charging a buck for it.

Chances are that if you cannot format When you first put it in and you get the prompt to format it you cannot format it that way Then you may need to go into Disc management where sometimes USB would have a partition dedicated to being protected and then the other portion or other size might be unformatted so when you format it if it's smaller than what the USB size is then it's probably that it's unformatted at all so check your disk management As you may find that it is Not initialize Or format it as if you got it a new hard drive
I did everything and nothing happened. The last action with the ease partition master says the operation did not complete because the media is write protected.

It didn't work for me. When I am trying to format from that easeUS software it's still showing not able to format since the disk is in write protection
Ease US Partition master does not format. media is write protect. PLs help. Tried all 3 ways as shown by you. Rededit,, diskpart shows read only No.
This was the only video that helped me fix the problem by differentiating the choice between 64 bit and 32 bit in the Registry Editor. I tried all the options (same as here) in several other videos (who seemed to have copied each other) and it failed because their systems were 32 bit and mine is 64 bit. Thank You! However now I'm scratching my head wondering how my system got write protected in the first place.

You must add another command after clearing attibutes that is 'exit ' for saving the changes
And Eject the pendrive and insert again.

If you still fail, I found the unforeseen way that works for me. Just change to a new card reader.

Should have check the size (capacity) of the disk before selection. I always remove extra extranal drive when i do steps like this to provent disaster.
