3:58 If you have met all the specialization requirements for a particular career, but when you look to start a company in that career yet the game doesn't offer that career as one you can start a company with, it means a.) You don't own a plane suitable for that career AND b.) You don't have enough credits to start the career along with buying an aircraft suitable for that career. At this point in the video you can start a cargo company for 10,000 credits and you already own a C172 that can perform the Light Cargo flights, so that company is available to be started. You would need to transfer your C172 to the new company, but it can be started. Selling that initial C172 was a major mistake because they offer that first used C172 at a highly discounted price.
My recommendations for starting a career are:
Save the starting of a career company until you can get a cargo company started. Flightseeing, skydiving, and Skywriting just don't earn reasonable amounts even as a company.
Buy the discounted C172 and use it to build up your funds.
Use the initial funds gained to maintain the plane back up to at least "Good" status on all categories, then just do the daily check-outs until one of the categories drops below "Good" status.
Repair any categories that aren't at least "Good" back to new.
DO NOT SELL the initial discounted C172 until you have saved for and purchased a new aircraft to take over the job.
DO NOT repair everything after every flight. Just the flight surfaces alone rack up 60,000 credits in repairs after 1 flight. Don't panic though. It appears they're front-loading labor costs into the first flight after a repair.

10:43 (skipped to landing) When you are on final in a C172, you want to be at about 60 knots with two notches (20°) of flaps. The flaps extension speed is 85 knots, so cut the throttle and fly level until your speed is below 85 before extending the flaps. The flaps help keep your speed down while you are in a descent so it's always a good idea to have at least SOME of them extended when descending to the runway. You still have one notch of flaps available if needed to keep you slow if necessary.
PERSONALLY, I prefer to be at 60 - 55 knots when extending flaps, this slows me down so I monitor my speed and adjust the throttle to get me back up to 60 - 55 knots before pitching down to descend. Pitching down will increase my speed so I again adjust my throttle to get back into the 60 - 55 knots area. Elevator trim is set to 12% again as I find that setting good for my take offs AND landings. At short-final (about a mile out) I bring in the last notch of flaps and adjust pitch/throttle to maintain 55 knots. As I approach touchdown, once reaching the runway threshold is assured I cut the throttle completely and glide the rest of the way. The full-flaps stall speed of the C172 is about 45 knots so I'll flare just above the runway and hold it until I start to hear the stall warning, then ride the edge of that stall warning down to the runway.

9:48 These are personal preferences with the C172 - not absolute rules - and you can feel free to ignore them: On take off from a paved runway, I don't use any flaps at all unless it's a short runway and usually have elevator trim set at 12% up. I'll set up the autopilot ahead of time to climb to my intended altitude using FLC with a climb speed of Vy (best rate of climb) - in the C172 that's 74 knots. I'll have the HDG bug set for the departure runway heading and the autopilot set to use HDG when AP is activated after take off.

10:15 "Should I turn these off?" In Career Mode you are the only aircraft in the air, so having your landing lights on while climbing isn't going to help or hinder you any. Real-world practices, though, want your landing lights on ANYTIME you are below 10,000 ft msl and flying. That said, Career Mode will gig you if you land at an airport without the landing lights on. You can decide what to do based on this information. Personally, in the C172 I leave the landing lights on while flying because I can't go much above 10,000 ft msl even if I wanted to. It's not a pressurized cabin and without supplemental oxygen you're already suffering mild hypoxia at 10,000 ft msl. Does the sim model hypoxia? I'm not sure how they could, but I like to keep my flights somewhat realistic so I don't take the C172 up to its service ceiling.
Edit: Oh. You meant the visual assistances (DOH!) If you have a good handle on the moving map display on the MFD (the display to the right you didn't do anything with) you can probably turn off the visual assistance. But if you have a hard time figuring out where you need to turn, then you probably should leave them on.

I have three recommended control settings you need to include somewhere on your controller: "Add Fuel", "Increase SimRate", and "Decrease SimRate". The Add Fuel control adds 25% of your max fuel anywhere during the mission - basically in-flight refueling for your plane/rotocraft. The SimRate controls let you speed up the sim on the boring parts so you can avoid skipping. Skipping greatly reduces the "No Skip Bonus" credits you can earn on a mission. As an example, a recent Light Cargo delivery mission in a C172 earned me 126,160 credits:
    38,870 Base income
21,030 Reputation Bonus income (I have an "S" rank reputation)
66,260 No Skip Bonus income. I didn't skip at all and used SimRate to reach the destination relatively quickly.
(Note: Asobo has already indicated they didn't want SimRate to be usable during Career Missions, so expect this to be disabled on some future patch. I fully expect "add fuel" to get disabled in Career Mode as well.)

I crashed my Cessna and couldn't fly it anymore. So it was out of commission. But yet they took insurance money from me. So I sold it but it wasn't worth anything just got rid of it set the insurance payments would stop. Now I am stuck flying as an employee ! Going to take a lot of grinding to get money to buy a new plane !!!!

I keep seeing this in YT videos. It really wants you to follow the steps in the mission window in the upper right. If you try and skip stuff you've got a good chance of not completing it.
Also your controls seem a little twitchy. Controllers are hard to fly with unless you tweak the axis sensitivities down a bit. Try about -.55 for pitch yaw and roll with no deadzones and see if that makes flying easier. (easy enough to reset to defaults if you don't like it)
I have experience that issue of the ATC button not working though. Really annoying. You can often just go to the next step and take the demerit though.

@@Solid-Lippy While it's a bigger deal with something like an Xbox controller with it's short throw on the sticks and triggers, it applies to all controllers you fly with. I've got a Honeycomb alpha yoke and Thrustmaster pedals and spent a bunch of time turning down the sensitivity on them too to make tiny precise control movements easier.
It is a lot easier to fly with a stick though and if you if you spring for the full hotas system easier still. I've also got a Thrustmaster T16000 stick and throttle that I'm quite happy with. Throttle's got a ton of buttons and axis that are great in flight sims.

First id make sure you are doing free lancing missions. Transport missions pay all more than flight seeing. Next I would make sure you don’t have any crew turned on when you manage your company and then I would focus on grinding the freelancing missions until you have enough money to make a new company. Lmk how it goes for you
