Prolly my Mana Cost Calcs are a bit off the Border but essentially:
OLD Archmage = base Mana Cost equal to 5% of Unreserved Maximum Mana VS added Mana Cost equal to 5% of Unreserved Mana
If you run a 6 Link with all the Mana multipliers while your BASE cost is high = INSANE Mana cost.
the new version will give ADDED mana cost, means the base stays the same = LOWER Mana cost than before.
And its also doesn't say Maximum anymore, so I assume with regular mana builds mana regen you can pretty much cast anything infinitely if added cost is based on current unreserved mana.
Maybe that actually makes Indigon better, but this require some calculations I'm a bit busy to do atm:)
@@praetorianmk-ii4522 well, indigon requires you to SPENT mana, which was alot easier to achieve with old archmage because of the changed BASE cost
So if you spent 1000 mana per second compared to 5.000 mana. Its a huge difference in ramping indigon
@@mbXtreme But at the same time it was harder to sustain Indigon bonuses because skill cost went up too quickly, and now it might be much more stable. Maybe its harder to hit 2000% damage cap, but if you could cast your spells without limitation of like 1-2 casts per second when you ramp up too much - it sounds like a good change too:)
Hey, don't hate on my Cloak of Defiance :P
clarification about the new archmage mbx.
it now scales with how much your mana pool is right? Does that mean its stronger the less mana reservation we do or it does not matter how many aura with have reserved with mana,?
I think the reason they had to limit it to not work with brand or orb skills is because of the reverse snapshoting trick that OneManaLeft came up with
Hope you remake your arc ignite elemntalist from 3.22. sounds like it will be even better and it already was a really fun build!
Hiero Santuary of T. NOW si great cuase "less mana cost" wont mess your archmage dmg, so now is PURE UPsides.
Also Ivory Tower
Great, last time I did a mana stacker, based off of one you made, it was a blast. So this looks promising, honestly, I might settle on this archetype too.
Hype! I love self casting mana stacking
This is a dope buff, can't wait for the cool mbx builds around it
with the current wording, indigon and mjölnir in particular will still work. but this seems to be an "unintented" buff to manaforged builds. im not too much into them, all i know is they used to reach 15+ billion dps in theory while having over 30k ES. You basicly start ramping manacost with arcane cloak and indigon and keep spaming your manaforged trigger which deals 1% more damage per 1 mana cost.
The changes pretty much sealed the deal on me starting a mana stacker. If my league start testing was anything to go by - this is probably going to feel insanely good from the moment you get the gem.
Can also use zizs buffed souleater gloves for 275% cast speed!
now just neeed a way to play my fav keystone (more mana regen), the agnostic and i can play mana build again x)
indigon is still good for the build honestly , i'd probably go for it or a crest of desire for my arcane cloak if i wanted a non rare helm
The moment i saw this ring i thought of the exact same build.
What do you think about using some setup with Crackling lance? (Also, CL of Disintegration)
“Indigon is basically dead”
I’m just thinking of a hyper expensive arcane cloak and then using Mjolnir to bypass the cost
Yeah indigon won't be off the table.
Definitely not with Mjolner + arcane cloak or perma laviagna's (which looks like there'll be even more ways to sustain now with new belt).
Conner already did some napkin maths that mjolner indigon AM stuff will be very good, much stronger than manabond.
@@Wrongusername2 i played manastacker last league. the damage is insane but the playstyle is not for everyone (coruscating) and pre mb it's really painful at times.
@@tonecruise8277 coruscaing.. i mean you know you don't even have to use ivory tower, can just go mom life initially, no issues with coruscating uptime then.
If you mean that you're kind of a wet noodle and hit like one when arcane cloak is down then yeah no argument there, it's shitty pendulum style crap that GGG likes to promote everywhere for some reason and players hate all around.
Not sure why they don't realize it's also terrible for balance all around.
@@Wrongusername2 hmm, now you could go hierophant with the Mana + ES ascendancy node and try to stack int as your mana + es scaling and you could try to go even as CI.
if you dont spend too much mana after arcane cloak, you wont trigger as much dmg as you did before, and if your mana is not empty manabond drops..... i think its a different build with the same mana concept
Mjolnir seems like it'll definitely be one of the strongest ways to use archmage this league, but that helmet looks crazy!! I also have my eye on that Heist staff that gives you EB effect without EB and Ivory Tower. That could make the cost sustain issue completely irrelevant & then make that new helmet shine really well!
Edit: Just looking at the helm again, this probably wouldn't work since it specifies a spell costing mana, so doing the EB effect wouldn't give you any rage. Dang! Looks like Mjolnir it is!
Indigon might actually be buffed now not necessarily because of the new Archmage but the new Mana Storm Shield works like the old archmage and you can pair it with the new Indigon. Though even without indigon, Arcane Cloak + Manastorm will be a really strong buff. Especially with the shield buffing your eternal mana flask.
Actually ignore most of that, I just realized Sacrificed mana does not count as mana spent. Still a cool shield tho!
Love that my brain went to the same place. Mana rage!!!
didnt the also remove a lot if max mana from the tree?
we need a mana stacking blade vortex scion build, I loved it back in the days.
lol, love the bit at the end downplaying archmage... big hopium that it doesnt get nerfed (fixed) pre leaguestart
wonder if its possible to do some archmage ignite build
same here
Is your buid arc ignite alive?
Dude please make an updated arc ignite archmage guide 😭😭❤️❤️
also buff to arcane cloak as it will have more mana available so more dmg absorb and added dmg
Ravenous Passion Zealot Helmet, will definitely get nerfed. Casters will use it to create some crazy builds...
pair it with a fanaticism battlemage inquiz or something.. lol.. break the game
Did you not keep in mind its a uber reward so its not gonna be something that just drops and now your op you have to at least beat a badass uber
@@whysosleepyjoe2811it'll be 5div in one month lol
@@whysosleepyjoe2811 I did keep in mind that players won't start with it. However, like it's been stated, in one month, players will be trading it to make some crazy builds. GGG will nerf it.
I think they denied orb skills because most of them are duration skills. You can take indigon, galvanic field and no investment in cast speed.
so no bleed bow :(
How come you weren't at poe2 event? :(
Do you think that delving and Fossil crafting IS still relevant with the new crafting?
Perfect fossils are going to be 1D each.
@@LarpingAsALarper why that?
the new Crafting with the Corpses looks pretty RNG, and so i would assume it's great for SSF, but in Trade you'll continue using what you did before.
@@Jandiss the only "rng" thing about it is the base item you get. It legit uses the same idea as fossils. Having better odds for the mods you aim for
@@Lucking00Quality crafting benches from Betrayal are gone. That will likely increase the price for perfect fossils.
the new archmage is way better now you can cast your skills with like 90 % reduced mana cost and still get the full dmg benefit because it doesnt scales with mana spend anymore so... now you can for example play stormburst / divine ire archmage stuff and spend like 0 mana to play it
Archmage wander incoming.
Brand and Orb, im guessing because those are duration skills so they are vulnerable to reverse snapshotting..
Wait, wouldnt Storm Burst be actually amazing with archmage now?
Dude, people scale indigon with arcane cloak.
Yeah, 3.24 is Mana League
Keep in mind that you’ll need to keep tapping Berserk, since it won’t work on left click anymore.
Numlock ❤
thats what Automation Support is for :)
video length is too long! its 13:39 minutes when it coulda been 13:37!
Dude, archmage is completly broken. There is no way this goes live lol. Old archmage BEFORE the (needed?) nerfs was 6% and you had to spend the mana. Now its 19% for ‘free’. Sorry but someone at GGG dropped the ball here. Nerfs incomming
why is the cost so much lower??
old
Supported Skills have base Mana Cost equal to 5% of Unreserved Maximum Mana, if that value is higher
new
Supported Skills have added Mana Cost equal to 5% of Unreserved Mana
shouldnt be new archmage cost the same like the old but you have to add the base mana cost??
im so confused
base Mana Cost VS added Mana Cost
As i understand it, it support Gems scale up your Base Manacost, so if Archmage sets that to be 5% of your Manapool that gets a lot more expensiv really quickly,
While in now just adds Manacost, and there for support gems ignore that part.
Prolly my Mana Cost Calcs are a bit off the Border but essentially:
OLD Archmage = base Mana Cost equal to 5% of Unreserved Maximum Mana VS added Mana Cost equal to 5% of Unreserved Mana

the new version will give ADDED mana cost, means the base stays the same = LOWER Mana cost than before.
aaaaah fukkin 4 years of poe and im still in tutorial haha@@mbXtreme
Hmmm in the current q&a they say its added to the base mana cost. Sooo costs stay the same?? Im even more confused haha
..Because Archmage + Penance brand OP
I remember a time where mbx didn't need to photoshop his arms to make them big. Bro was jacked competing to be a ninja
