Great video Phil! thanks for the tag. The main difference between the 2.0 and the 2.5 RMX RTR is the 2.5 has the newer style spur type gearbox and the MGX gyro has end point adjustment. The servo is also placed mounted front to rear instead of left to right and the ESC is placed out over the rear of the chassis, great cars for the money and we actually use the 2.0 RTR as our hire car.
Love how detailed these RC cars are. I see you got the staggered offsets for deep dish in the rear and as much as possible in the front while keeping fitment in mind. Just like a real car. Doooope!
I've had an RMX 2.0 for around little less than 2 years and it's been awesome! I never needed to adjust anything. Although I just had my receiver/controller go bad. Only a $92 fix and now I get a much higher-quality controller! These are definitly one of the best ready to run drift cars you can buy at the $300-400 price range.
Do they come with the radio, charger and everything required or we have to buy all this apart from the car? I hope it's actually all included because i only find it for 450€
@@AnthonyDutter it doesn’t come with the batteries or the charger, I paid around $100 for both. You have to look at all the websites, some are cheaper like $350
I know nothing about drifting, but I have watched some drifting on carpet. This car performed very well in my opinion. For a rtr brushed car I was very impressed. I think the fact that you took it outside and ran it on the parking lot shows, as you said, you can take it outside and have a good time. The car is not cheap, but when you look at the quality if the gyro, steering angle, and the way it's geared for a brushed motor I think there will be people out there buying them as a result of your video. Thanks for sharing.
This video re opened my want for an rc drift car. I grew up playing with xmods and it was almost impossible to drift those. Now these look so fun and can drift great.
@@TomleyRC Certainly! I'm fortunate enough to have a few tracks dotted around me so have been visiting those. Midlands Drift warehouse in bednall staffs and Ronin drift lounge at leicester are relatively central for the midlands and then there is NRD/Rattrap up in wakefield if you're a touch further up. None of them are carpet track and definitely worth a visit as the surfaces are great fun to drift on.
So I bought a carrera go for my daughter for xmas and now here I am watching all your videos 😂 cant wait to order something, kinda between this one and THE truck.
better brushless! drifts hella better then brushed! unless ur new into it you'll go for brushed brushless allows for more wheelspin more angle and overall a better drift when used to it
MST rims are amazing, I’ve got a set on my MK2 Ford Escort rally car in the Heat colour scheme configuration . 😊. That Beemer looks stunningly amazing 😻 and the wheels totally finish it off. 😮
Heehee, I love it! Just about my fave BMW for a start, they have the looks and colour and stance just right for a street drifter. It's ironic that most people don't get that drifting is all about grip, technically. But especially in full size cars, good tires are essential, and of course, practice
This is a nice simple setup from MST. The old 2.0s come with a brushed or a brushless setup but since this is the 2.5 version, I’m guessing MST is gonna stick with brushed setup for the 2.5 version for now until they decide to make a brushless version. I have a Yokomo YD-2 AC RTR version instead of building a kit version but it’s not cheap at all even for a brushed setup only.
i love the drift cars so detailed and soo scale looking you can get so many upgrades and body scale parts like exhaust with flames or smoke. great video thanks 🙏
This video came into my feed. I’ve always wanted a good beginner but serious RC car. This thing looks badass. Gonna check out more videos. I love this car!!
Amazing review. This is exactly what i was looking for! I can get a new remote with gyro trim and its perfect! Price is oerfect too! Thanks again Tomley!
You can make adjustments to the rtr versions, they already are using shims on the upper and lower front arms, pick up some m3 shims and your set! Caster and Ackerman can be tuned out the box and it’s tuned by changing how the top front arms are mounted to the bulkhead and I believe the steering arm itself can be mounted a few different ways. Only warning I have is if you plan to run outside. Throw in the spur gear box
One last thing. You want your front offset to be wider or at worst equal to your front offset. It will make your chassis muchhhh more stable while in angle.
I agree it looks good without all the decals and stickers. Looks like they have them fairly well dialed in from the factory to just throw a battery in it and go have fun.
I missed the E30 boat about 7 years ago when they were still around 5k for a clean title, maybe 7k for a 325is, now they're 15 to 20 which is insane! Anyways I love my RMX 2.0 RTR, I was reluctant to get into drifting but damn once you get good it's so much fun! I have a two car garage that I drift in and it never gets old
