Honestly, Handsome Jack's voice actor (Dameon Clarke) is one of the best I've heard. The way he smoothly goes from cold-blooded and serious guy to a humorous jackass (which suits Jack's character) is perfect. The laughs that he can't contain during his dialogues feel so natural that they actually manage to get a chuckle out of me. The best part is that it's Handsome Jack who can't contain the laughs, but the actor manages to replicate them into the character so good that it's just beautiful.

@Melissa Waterman fun fact, Jack is the hero of borderlands 2. Back in the pre sequel at the end he saw the entire future that we, the players, played. He could have avoided it all, doing different stuff so that he wouldn't die and live to win with the warrior but he didn't. He followed the future he saw
2:53 why does this bandit gun part make me laugh so hard, I never noticed that when I played the game, and seeing an example shown while Jack says it, is just so hilarious to me, I'm dying
AtomicToaster I like the concept of the calypso twins. I disliked the streaming aspect of it. I could have written a way better script for them. I would have liked to see Troy turning on Tyreen and maybe killing her to become stronger because she always seen him as inferior. Just a thought though.
@@colin5376 I am conflicted by them. I'm not finished with the story so not too sure how things are going, but honestly, I feel there is lost potential. But with a villain with Jack, it was going to be difficult to beat. Don't get me wrong, they've got a bit of story to them, but they don't have too much in the way of personality. And any chance they get to show conflict between the two (like Troy's inferiority complex or what seems to be dislike of Tyreen because she is the center of attention). Moments like that would've added depth but they just end up seeming, eh to me. But I still liked them because they're interesting. However, what is interesting is that we're at five out of six, and after what happens in the Vault on Promethia, 4 out of six. So there is one new Siren that came into existence, and one that is alive we're yet to find out about. This has nothing to do with Jack as much as it does with lore, but I find this interesting to say the least.
@@colin5376 I feel that if Gearbox had the Twins set as DLC bosses with their personalities and way of making fun of the typical streamer/vlogger, then they would have been better off. They just don't have any substance compared to Jack and honestly reminded me of some of the DLC final bosses from BL2; Base level of backstory, but don't really have a story to tell. Most of the story you even hear about the Calypso Twins doesn't even come from them, it comes from Typhon DeLeon lol
Everybody is bashing the villains in Borderlands 3, but let's get real here for a sec... Handsome Jack was a masterpiece of a villain, and I highly doubt we'll get another memorable villain like him. Jack was just too damn well written in such a way, that it will be ages before we see another villain like him to appear in a Borderlands game.
@@Lynaugh1211 I think that was the point of the twins, though... to be annoying and obnoxious to the point of people hate them completely, and I guess they managed to deliver it. Not that I'm saying I like them or anything (some of their dialogue lines are kinda funny tbh), but I agree Jack was pretty much flawless in every aspect.
Calypso Twins could've been good with better amount of lines and more heart to them. Also BL3 could be better without a screaming brat known colloquially as "Ava"
Handsome Jack was such a good character, he will probably go down as one of the most popular and well-written video game villains ever. I'm actually worried what the franchise is gonna be like (especially now that they have announced Borderlands 3) without him. They've done everything they could to keep him around: gone back in time, cloned him, digitized his personality and stuck it in some dude's head. He's pretty much the face of the Borderlands franchise at this point, so what's it going to be like without him? Hopefully Gearbox didn't write themselves into a corner with this.
Well i think they actualy let go of him after TFTB. Since we saw Rhys this probaly mean that the Events of the Game are offical Canon. But the thing with Jack was that he was not completly wrong we he first said that he is the Hero. I mean Jack actualy started as a Hero who wanted to make Pandora a Paradise but he got backstabed and betrayed by everyone he trusted and loved. But still Jack actualy stand up to his Ideals but just take them to the extreme by considering nearly everyone an Enemy. But in the End he become totaly twisted and so focused at his own goals that he toss everything he still had away just to reach that goal. But in the End he was as he said not completly wrong while you as the Vault Hunters are just there to get as much loot as possible Jack actualy try to create a Paradise. Well whats left to say besides. You meet him as a Vilian you saw him as a Hero and you end the twisted and crazy remainings of him for good at the end.
Well they probaly can not top him. But thats because he was not only a great Vilian he was much more if you look at everything. I mean he was not completly wrong when he said at the begining that you are the Vilians and he is the Hero. I mean he actualy started as a guy who wanted to make Pandora a better place. But then he got Backstabed over and over and over again which lead to him adepting a very chaotic sense of Justice. But in the end while you as the player was just there for the Loot he actualy wanted to make Pandora a better place. Well at the end you meet him as a Vilian you saw him as a Hero and you end what what was remaining of a twisted broken man in TFTB.
@@susakuzero the thing that made people betray him was his thirst for power but the merith kicked his hunger for power off and that hunger grew and grew and it scared his friends away and instead of helping him they left him and tried to kill him
As a villain, Jack utterly destroys the Calypso Twins. Jack's lines and jokes have aged incredibly well and are still funny over 7 years later, while I see the twins aging like milk left out during the summer in the Sahara desert.
It would actually be better if the guy who voiced Jack, Dameon Clarke himself, played him. Not only does he have that sarcastic vibe in his voice, but also the guy enjoyed his role so much, that most of his tweets were as if he was Jack himself. BTW he also looks like Jack, so it would've fitted.

In real life, crazy ppl don't think they are crazy. They just think it's everyone else that can't see their points. That's what makes good bad guys. That they think that what they are doing is good and the best for everyone. This guy is one of my most favorite villains right up their with Darth Vader and such
I would’ve like if the grandma quest ended in you actually seeing Jack’s grandma alive and well. Maybe having some sad line like “Where’s my little angel?” and then Jack either getting really uncomfortable or saying “She sends her love gam-gam”, maybe as an attempt to make us rethink Jack being a villain for the final time.
Well i mean that is not completly far off. Since Jack was actualy completly twisted and broken after the Pre Sequels but he never realy saw himself as a real Vilian. And in a actualy crazy way he was never one.
The battle with bloodwing always gives me anxiety because back when the game was new and no one really knew how to optimally beat the game me and a few friends spent quite a bit of time fighting bloodwing and about halfway through the fight, it glitched out and bloodwing endlessly switched between Corrosive and Electricity while also being invincible so we had to listen to Jack yell "Corrosive!" and "Electricity!" for about 30 minutes while we tried to fix it, but ended up having to restart the whole damn thing.
Dorelaxen well then he was a bad villain because I didn’t like killing him at all. In fact I felt like betraying Lilith (particularly after playing the pre sequel).
Dunno about you, I wanted to kill them both. Jack killed a lot of innocents and made them suffer. Lilith and Moxxy are the ones that made Jack total crazy instead of just leaving him alone. While I understand Moxxy's motives, I do not understand Lilith's.
@S&W M&P15 AKA Riley the Onni fan She was one of the closest people to Jack and she knew him much more than anyone except Angel. She knew Jack way too well and she knew if he will get so much power, he will start spreading chaos. Lilith didn't know any of this and she just thinks he is evil. In the end, it began way too worse than expected.
@S&W M&P15 AKA Riley the Onni fan Well, that scene was actually stupid. I would understand if she would try to kill Nisha and Wilhelm... And maybe Claptrap. But I don't see a reason to kill Athena, Timothy and Ms Hammerlock. I guess all VHs were supposed to be a sacrificial goats.
@S&W M&P15 AKA Riley the Onni fan Alright, let's stop just at the words "this scene was stupid". Maybe devs tried to show that all characters in Borderlands are scumbags. But that wasn't a good way to show it.
To be honest I can sympathize with Jack. He did try to get rid of evil on Pandora because even though they tried saving the world, the Vault Hunters and the Crimson Raiders are not good guys. They betrayed Jack when he need their help, Lilith punched the Vault Symbol on Jack's face when she had no reason to, and they killed several hundred people including Jack's daughter. Sure Jack may have done his share of horrible stuff but that's what human beings do. You guys can agree of disagree with me cause I don't really care if you do or not cause that's you're decision, not mine. I just wanted to get that out because I really hope Lilith dies in the third game because she is undoubtedly the worst character ever next to Claptrap because he is annoying as hell. Also: Jack can buy a pony made of diamonds but he can't buy decent pretzels?

Honestly, Handsome Jack's voice actor (Dameon Clarke) is one of the best I've heard. The way he smoothly goes from cold-blooded and serious guy to a humorous jackass (which suits Jack's character) is perfect. The laughs that he can't contain during his dialogues feel so natural that they actually manage to get a chuckle out of me. The best part is that it's Handsome Jack who can't contain the laughs, but the actor manages to replicate them into the character so good that it's just beautiful.

I refuse to acknowledge the calypso twins as villains. Not after this guy owned the term.

Succeeding BL2 will always be a hurdle. And that is an everlasting nod to Gearbox
Well i think they actualy let go of him after TFTB. Since we saw Rhys this probaly mean that the Events of the Game are offical Canon. But in the End he was as he said not completly wrong while you as the Vault Hunters are just there to get as much loot as possible Jack actualy try to create a Paradise.
