I know I am a few years late, but that wasn't his humanity talking. Angel wasn't a daughter for him, only a vital asset to reach his goals. He wasn't crying for his kid, he was crying because of losing a precious object.
God its been years since i played Borderlands 2 and the speech from 27:29 onwards still gives me CHILLS. The emotion in that voice, the knowledge of all you and Handsome Jack have done to get to this point, it's almost terrifying... how can a video game make me cry with so little context
"Funny thing? You wanna destroy a man, you don't need to kill 'em. You just need to kill what he loves." God, I love the foreshadowing behind that line. 27:55 Me and Handsome Jack can relate. We both pretend to be heroes when we really aren't, we both have deformed faces, and we both wear headware that covers our faces.
nope, before it was an Dahl mining and research colony, however when the creatures came out and slaughtered their guards by the dozens, if not more, so they pulled out their top level personnel and unlocked the gates on the mining camps, which used convict labor
Now here's a theory of mine which I can totally see being a twist either in the middle or after credits of BL 3. So here it is: In BL the Presequel Jack saw EVERYTHING including not only his death but the MAP of the other vaults, so with that knowledge and a particularly in depth double of his whose name rhymes with Jimothy who underwent numerous physical surgeries even more so when Handsome Jack was "born" and which greatly effected his mental condition, he hatched an addendum to his current plan for Pandora, specifically if and when things don't go his way. So HJ near the end to awaken the Warrior knowing what's going to happen switches places with his double and watched his apparent "death" and the reveal of numerous other Vaults unfold just like in the vision, and so in the aftermath he set off on his own to awaken, other "warriors" of the Vaults and with his knowledge of harnessing eridium and how it's almost there "kryptonite" he now has an army of Vault monsters at his command ready to do the one thing he set out to do in the first place wipe Pandora off the face of the universe and being order to the rest. That is the "war" I believe the vault creature speaks of. Though hey we'll see eventually right?
tbh i think jack is still the true hero, he wanted to install colonies that could live free of pandora's monsters and violence, but he had no choice but kill off the bandits, they were a threat to everyone. ok he didn't exactly have to remove a poor man's eyeballs with a spoon to achieve that but that is due to his highly unstable background, in fact i think he held his sanity pretty well for everything he had to go trough, he could easily had been just another psycho on pandora or a cannibal vault hunter (looking at you, sal) but his ideals is was kept him relatively sane trough it all. look at opportunity, yes it was dictatorship but everyone had high class life too. it wasn't just some communism like we see IRL it was literaly the perfected version of it. (way better than pandora's wastelands full of psychos and aliens imo)
Wind Element in the presequel I say he was but after being betrayed by a lot of people he was changed and became a villain in all honesty you can count Lilith as the villain for the ps
Please don't make statements like that if you can't even apply basic freshman logic to it. Jack didn't just want to kill the bandits, he wanted to kill _everyone_ who didn't agree with his views and swore servitude. The bandits are literally milllions, killing them all would be a genocide dwarfing the holocaust many times over, and they became bandits because Dahl left them there with no way to earn a honest living. They know of no other life. If you wanna change things for the better, you get to the root of the problem, which in this case is a lack of a social structure and educational system that actually provides for the people. Crime becomes a last means of survival. Life under Jack's rule would have been one of oppression, because he doesn't value diversity and opposing points of views, his truth is the only one to him, because he's the "hero". He was willing to do anything to have his way and never opened the door to input from other parties. He could have tried to reason with Sanctuary, maybe stopped dealing out death sentences based on his own ideals. I mean ffs, he turned his daughter into something she never wanted to be (and that was before pre-sequel) and strangled a man for mentioning his wife. Heroes don't do that, self-obsessed tyrants does. As for the high class life you speak of, yeah, everyone who agreed to be his property, thralls to never question his decisions or be allowed to have any control. Would you wanna live such a life? When you demand that people surrender their freedom you are trying to make things out of them. Things that servers your ends. Pandora isn't great but it got potential to one day get better. People value their freedom and friends more than being inside a comfy cage where you are never treated as a person.
Whenever I finish the main story I have Lilith kill Jack. I can't bring myself to kill him myself. I felt so bad for him. The only time I didn't like him was when he apparently scooped out a guy's eyes out with a spoon while his kids watched and then mocked the crying kids.
Yeah, I can never bring myself to hurt him. Most of the time I play with my brother, so my brother handles him and I get all the Loaders and fake Jack’s. I’ve cried every time we have to fight him
@@Dolgit147 Oof, it's so awkward when someone who either haven't read the story completely or just ain't observant speaks up. Uh, he made his own daughter a prisoner way before that, and he also took pleasure in murdering others through the pre-sequel. They betrayed him because they could see the writing on the wall, in blood as it was, and so could many others, me included, but not you I guess. What really fucked him up was probably his upbringing, but that doesn't excuse everything, and certainly not some of the things he did before being betrayed. Oh, and, he also wanted to use an alien artifact to commit mass murder from orbit. Which is funny, considering the bandits are trying to simply survive more than anything else, while he uses his riches to pursue grand schemes under a heroic delusion. And considering the side to his character he had shown, leaving a weapon like that in his hands was too dangerous.
@@Luxai I didn't say he was knight in shining armor on the white horse before. He was fucked up, yes. But he still acted like a hero. In the beginning of TPS he's trying to save people of Elpis. Then he gets backstabbed by Meriff and we can see that the "Hero" Jack slowly dying, and the "Asshole" Jack starts taking control even more. After every betrayal we see that happening, until Mox destroyed Eye of Helios, where he finally snaps and the "Hero" gets completely erased. IMO, the Borderlands 3 part with Jack is fucked up, because he acts like Jack from BL2, not the Jack from start of TPS. You can hear it in his voice, he already talking like megalomaniac and killer, and in the begging of TPS he talks like regular worke, who doesn't like killing people. Well, I suppose that's what you get when the students writing a plot for your game.
uh, how would you know that? The universe is crazy big and keeps growing,. Heck, borderlands 3 states that civilized life exists in six galaxies. That's... not even half a percent, not even... one percent of a half precent. Basically, if you can imagine a more powerful being it exists somewhere, and I imagine emperoes of entire galactic empires. Jack is a small fry. Also, we killed him. Brutally.
Consider this your final warning -- no, consider this MY final warning. (beat) Turn around and I promise I’ll make it quick for you. (angry) But I swear, you take one more step, every soul back in Sanctuary will die staring at their own lungs as I rip them from
Whenever he talks to you i just imagine him on his office chair half lying on it and spining around xD

Did you play borderlands 3 now........tyreen and Troy I couldn't wait to kill but I couldn't be able to try kill him again
I'm really trying not to like him, buT IT'S HARD WHEN HE KEEPS CALLING YOU CUTE NICKNAMES, DAMMIT-
I can agree with this 100%
Thanks Pumpkin ;)
@@handsomejack2956 LET ME TELL YOU, WHEN I SAW THIS NOTIFICATION, I LITERALLY SCREAMED-
@@vickidagurk3773 Yep I’m a real charmer.
@@handsomejack2956 sup jack president of hyperion gaming's saddest death gameings best villain and hero
"I'm sending everything i have at you, E V E R Y T H I N G" i remember that particular voice line very clearly cuz it kinda scared me tbh
_//HE WAS REFERRING TO THE VAULKT HAUNTERS IN THE PRE-SEQUEL AND I NEVER REALIZED OH MY GIOD_
tbh i think jack is still the true hero, he wanted to install colonies that could live free of pandora's monsters and violence, but he had no choice but kill off the bandits, they were a threat to everyone. ok he didn't exactly have to remove a poor man's eyeballs with a spoon to achieve that but that is due to his highly unstable background, in fact i think he held his sanity pretty well for everything he had to go trough, he could easily had been just another psycho on pandora or a cannibal vault hunter (looking at you, sal) but his ideals is was kept him relatively sane trough it all. look at opportunity, yes it was dictatorship but everyone had high class life too. it wasn't just some communism like we see IRL it was literaly the perfected version of it. (way better than pandora's wastelands full of psychos and aliens imo)
Wind Element Far from a hero, he ended up causing too much pain. He had potential to become a hero but he lost his way..
AND HIS KIDS WERE ALL LIKE,
*A-WAAAAAAYH*
3:32 I really, really love the way he sarcastically says the line
Whenever I finish the main story I have Lilith kill Jack. I can't bring myself to kill him myself. I felt so bad for him. The only time I didn't like him was when he apparently scooped out a guy's eyes out with a spoon while his kids watched and then mocked the crying kids.
Yeah, I can never bring myself to hurt him. Most of the time I play with my brother, so my brother handles him and I get all the Loaders and fake Jack’s. I’ve cried every time we have to fight him
There should be a mode or game where we can play as Handsome Jack. Not sure if you guys think the same, but I think it's a fine idea.
Wallet Head.
Shut up!
Hahah.
Pre-sequel
That's gonna be hard seeing how jack's character is really amazing and will be hard to do when you play as him.
He was the GODDAMN HERO for real. Drastic but... hero. I didn't want to kill him. :(
I got a flakker from the final boss shot it and killed him by mistake...
He wasn't, and you need to learn basic philosophy.
@@Luxai he kinda was. Until Mox, Lil and Roland ruined his sanity even more then his grandma.
Well, I suppose that's what you get when the students writing a plot for your game.
the fact that he is the most powerful man in the universe at that timeline is seriously so attractive
uh huh..
Vrillon mad at the puss Huh?
uh, how would you know that? The universe is crazy big and keeps growing,. Heck, borderlands 3 states that civilized life exists in six galaxies. That's... not even half a percent, not even... one percent of a half precent. Basically, if you can imagine a more powerful being it exists somewhere, and I imagine emperoes of entire galactic empires.
Jack is a small fry. Also, we killed him. Brutally.
No it's Salvador
Hearing this without the added radio static is really weird but so awesome

Consider this your final warning -- no, consider this MY final warning. (beat) Turn around and I promise I’ll make it quick for you. (angry) But I swear, you take one more step, every soul back in Sanctuary will die staring at their own lungs as I rip them from
After finding out Angel was his daughter, I had to stop playing for a few days. You can guess why. That happen to anyone else?
Nah. Not really. But why tho?
It’s not his daughter. He took angel as his daughter
