Starkiller/Galen didn't even survive. He was stabbed through the back, then thrown through what was likely a transparisteel window and yeeted out into space where he *literally died.* He was later retrieved and *"rebuilt"* by Vader. The game said this verbatim.

It wasn't that she "survived". It was that she seemingly was healed over night and had no complications, struggle or physical impairment after suffering her injuries. Luke’s circumstance was significantly different. Notably delayed treatment for severe lacerations, blood loss, hypothermia, frostbite, and potentially other injuries not immediately apparent.
Sabine had a single cauterized wound in what may be a non-immediately lethal location that received treatment relatively immediately. I think her recovery was a bit longer than “a few short hours” since she was treated with localized patches instead of dunked in a full immersion tank.

Lightsabers are not as deadly as people believe.
Physically, the chances of surviving a lightsaber stab to the gut would be quite high. The saber would cauterize the wound. Gut wounds are generally fatal due to bleed out. You would easily survive loosing intestines, a kidney your stomach. Or rather you would only die from those after a great deal of time due to starvation, stomach acid corrosion, or the inability to remove toxins. That could take days or weeks. There is plenty of time to get the medical attention for repair. As for Qui-gon. His spinal cord was cut. Sabine's was clearly not. Qui-gon might haved survived if Obi-Wan did not have to still deal with Maul.

We do have to ask why is it she was able to survive, while the captain of the ship in the previous episode died almost immediately when his was run through. As for the TFU it was a game, where the comic and book took a much more ground approach to the same story. As for breaking lore, the second one did more than the first one ever did. Because it makes sense to me that Vader would seek to have an apprentice to overthrow his master. That is indeed a very Sith thing to do, and honestly, they should have just left Star Killer dead. It's one thing for true sith like maul or Vader to survive crazy stuff no Jedi could, and even though star killer isn't technically a sith lord, his absurd power level on the dark side does justify it in a way none of the Disney characters really have, especially sabine. This is why having varying levels of canon was such a good idea back in Legends. If the lethality of sabres in a video game contradicts the lethality of sabres in a book or movie, you go with the book or movie. Disney decided "everything is the same level of canonicity from here on out," and i really don't think that choice has done them any favors. So as a shorthand to show how badass and scary the monster or villain of the week was, they would have said monster or villain very publicly kick Worf's ass. The problem is that they did this CONSTANTLY, to the point where Worf's supposed toughness became something of a joke, and even became the namesake of this exact trope, now called "Worfing."
Same thing with lightsabers. At one point, someone in the writers' room thought "Hey, you know how we can show just how tough our character is? Have them survive being run through with a lightsaber! Everyone knows how deadly that is, so it'll definitely get the message across that our character is a real badass!" Especially practice in Ambulance to transport patients in cardiolo arrested, freezing them with ice packs at key joints like groin and armpit to slow body Metabolism. They have a saying, they aren't cold and dead until they are warm and dead.

I was not a fan of Starkiller being stabbed by a lightsabre and surviving it at the time, but that said Vader intended for him to survive the wound, even so Galen only barely survived it with pretty much immediate intensive treatment, and he went on to recover over a meaningful period of time in a state of the art medical facility. By contrast, Sabine just gets a bacta patch slapped on her wound in some back alley clinic and is fine a day later like nothing happened. And Reva was even worse, surviving being run through by a lightsabre while only a child, and also surviving being run through by a lightsabre again as an adult and then proceeding to (and I can't emphasise enough how stupid this is) literally walk off that wound with no apparent medical care required whatsoever.
With regard to the 'believability' angle, no one - no man, no woman, no one at all - could 'realistically' survive being run through by some hypothetical plasma blade hot enough to melt through a blast door in a matter of seconds. The immediate area that was struck would be vaporised instantly, nearby water in the victim's tissues would sublimate into superheated steam in a fraction of a second, causing a steam explosion powerful enough to blow a considerable chunk out of their body, and that steam would also be forced into other parts of their body, instantly cooking other major organs. Literally boiling blood would pass through parts of their circulatory system. Even organs further from the initial wound site would be irreparably damaged by thermal shock. It would be certain death such that any survival by anyone would be downright miraculous.
Though with all that said, simply turning on a weapon with a blade that hot would raise every object within about thirty feet, including the ill advised wielder of the weapon themselves, instantly to the flash point of most materials. Everything would be on fire - you, your opponent, any unfortunate bystanders, the whole room - which would make for a very short and inconclusive duel, so 'realism' and 'believability' arguments with regard to lightsabres are probably on shaky ground in any case. The bigger issues are ones of internal consistency of the fictional continuity and how credible the lightsabre is as a supposedly legendary weapon of unparalleled lethality in the Star Wars setting if anyone can survive being run through by one like it is little more serious than stubbing their toe and markedly less harmful than a wound delivered by simple steel blade. The devaluing of the lightsabre as an icon of pop culture, and perhaps the best known weapon in all of science fiction, is what is antagonising so many fans more than anything else.

For Maul, I personally don't mind since it was a journey on its own to get him back to form. When Savage found his brother, Maul was fully mad, surviving on junkers he tricked into falling into his lair, friends with a weird talking snake, and had weird spider legs. He had to go back to Mother Talzen and go through a pretty painful process to get his mind back and get his new legs. Sabine and Reva were both up and walking in a matter of hours. I don't like that Maul survived being cut in half, but one could argue that his alien biology is a lot different that human biology. But I'm thankful it happened, because it took an underutilized character that was little more cool-looking, and gave him several brilliant arcs in TCW. We got no such benefit by seeing Sabine survive -- they could've easily written it in such a way that either implied a less critical wound, or a longer recovery time.

The one with starkiller I did even as a kid find to be pushing it a little because he was thrown in the vacuum of space and was definitely out there for a few minutes before the probe droid grabbed him. But that’s the thing too, pretty much everyone agrees that he was def at least a little op. I mean Vader never brought down an entire star destroyer with the force but he did.
Reva was by far the worst offender of this. Like they took her being stabbed to a stupid degree. I’m sorry but I can’t buy for even a second that she could mange to drag herself halfway across the galaxy, wander the desert and have her scuffle with the Lars all the while with a gaping hole in her stomach. That is just ridiculous. Even starkiller couldn’t handle that. And her grunting and moaning in pain every once in a while doesn’t sell it to me either. Her dying after being stabbed would have been a decent enough and slightly bittersweet ending to the character (even though I don’t like that character)
While I haven’t watched ahsoka yet, from what I see it’s more so that they used her being stabbed as a cheap way to go “oh my god she’s gonna die” to then immediately go “nah it’s ok she’s fine”

The PT and CW show the inherent flaws in mass droid armies. Centrally-controlled droids can be stopped by an attack on a single location (the command-and-control facility), and independent-acting droids still require the same basic structures of communication to coordinate movements and information (just faster to process). Droids can also be salvaged for information and reprogrammed for espionage and sabotage, much simpler processes than the equivalent interrogations and conversions/impersonations needed for living beings. Droids also lack the creativity, spontaneity, and insight of living beings, being restricted to the parameters and limitations of their programming.

Hey Thor, serious question. I watched two different videos, one by J. J. Plagiarisms and one by Geetsley's both dealing with the Clones. J. J. Plagiarisms went into detail describing the Clones as I knew them before Star Wars the Clone Wars. Completely Obedient, No Independent Thought, Pawns of the Sith. Dave Filoni's Star Wars the Clone Wars changed the Clones and that is really shone in Geetsley's explanation of the Umbaran Arc. When I created a Clone Unit for my OC (Before Dave Filoni's Star Wars the Clone Wars but long after George Lucas's Clone Wars Project) I wanted Aberrant Clones that could disobey orders and you had to earn their respect. I designed that based on Pre-Dave Filoni's Star Wars the Clone Wars Clone information, but it's now moot because of the newer show. Can you please explain the purpose of the Clones based on information known between Episodes II and III and then the information Pre-Episode VII. Pre-Filoni clones had independent thinking and distinct personalities. The difference is that in TCW there is no sign of indoctrination or genetic modification because for some reason the clones have hopes and dreams while in the EU their personalities were limited to a military mindset.
But they were humanized. Just look at Fordo, Cody, Nate, Boss, Scorch, Fixer, Sev, Darman, Bacara, Faie, Able, Bly, Appo, Neyo and Alpha.

    Unpopular opinion:
I think TCW was very good in building up the characters of our heroes (Kenobi, Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex, Fives, 99, Padme, Bail and so many others), but it was a hit or miss for the villains. Cad Bane and Aurra Sing as amoral mercs were fine. Assajj had some good character moments and Sidious was also fine. But my biggest issues were with Maul and Dooku.
I hated that Maul was revived / resurrected - i liked Thor's version where Kenobi is left hanging in TPM and Maul is forced to escape to avoid incoming Naboo forces. He should never have been killed in TPM. That said, once he was killed, his death should have been permanent. Like Qui gon's.
And I absolutely hate the portrayal of Dooku in TCW and also the tales of the jedi. A cynical man he might have been, but openly using Force Choke even when Qui gon was his apparentice makes no sense. And Qui gon's death was supposed to have been the trigger for his fall. Not his inherent greed. TCW turned him into a moustache twirling villain with no complexity. I understand the dark side twists you, but he could still have had some dilemma within - which was shown expertly by Sir Christopher Lee in Episode 2.

    • @emberfist8347
      @emberfist8347 Рік тому

Dooku was always hinted at being greedy and having the path of the Sith from the beginning. A recurring theme in the franchise is that people who become Sith show some early signs. Palpatine for example already committed vehicular manslaughter as a teen and was more pissed about being grounded for it by his father than having any remorse for it. Anakin openly felt he could flout the rules, and have attachments, and Dooku was always someone who had a elitist might makes right philosophy due to being from an aristocratic family.

    • @emberfist8347
      @emberfist8347 Рік тому

I have to disagree. Maul in his revival, which makes sense as he needed to be resurrected from his death on Naboo, got to show how smart a Sith trained by Palpatine is. Dooku I also feel works. Christoper Lee wasn’t meant to be play a conflicted villain, but a Saruman The White who is a silver-tongued manipulator. Even in the Jedi Dooku was a elitist because he hailed from an aristocratic family. The Sith tend to have their early personality traits set in stone before they fall. Palpatine was always a sociopath for example and Anakin constantly flouted the rules of the Order.

the following is for the sabine/disney star wars/filoni simps and stans out there!
you do realize that a saber would leave a hole through her body right? so why in less than a day was it filled up and looked like a raw piece of pepperoni was on her tummy?
do you know how hot a lightsaber is in canon? ill educate you!
    lightsaber temp - 16,000-21,300 F
fun fact: the surface of earth's sun is roughly 10,000 F!
another fun fact!: the rough boiling point of water is 212 F (depending on elevation and air quality/humidity)
a fun star wars fact! qui-gon-jin stabbed his saber into a blast door and it began to melt the surrounding metal in less than a second... were talking milliseconds!
(google the female organ placements in google images for a visual reference)
sabine was actually stabbed top middle of her liver and when the saber started to seesaw up and down it nicked the bottom right lung within inches of her heart! ( the hospital bed scene relocated her stab wound to be lower LOL)
the saber stayed in sabine for just about 5.2 seconds on screen... now go back to the youtube video of qui-gon-jin stabbing that blast door in the phantom menace and see what happens within 5 seconds of stabbing it...
now that was durasteel, what would that do to human flesh?
well the liquids in her body within a half a foot around the sabers blade would begin to expand, boil, and burst out of her flesh, organs and blood veins! her flesh would start to melt/burn and her liver/right lung would be damaged beyond repair and would require surgery to replace the damaged organs with cloned ones (which takes time and she would be put likely in a machine to help her breath while being in a bacta tank for days if not weeks!) her heart would be severely damaged by the heat and would also likely need to be replaced eventually...
her liver could survive but unlikely and might need replacing as well!
with all that said, she is certainly dead but, there is a chance she COULD survive... HOWEVER! it would require weeks to grow the replacement organs and perform the surgery. months of bed rest and constant care, and she would be in physical therapy for likely years and after all that she would never EVER be able to fight even remotely close to what she used to be capable of.
the issue is this, starkiller was never canon, and it was a video game, sabine is in the tv show ashoka which is live action AND CANON!
but in universe by the time sabine is ready to fight, thrawn would already of been back in the galaxy and likely nearly finished winning his war.
she should be dead.... OR they should of cut her arm off instead. which would of taught her a valuable lesson, to not be cocky and running off on your own like that when there is likely people who will go look for that orb. her arrogance, loner attitude got her arm cut off and lost ahsokas treasure planet ball.

Or basically being resurrected every time you die. And as usual context matters especially around Starkiller. TFU was meant to be a exaggerated over the top type of game, kind of a Dragonball Star Wars game so you have to take everything that happens in those games with a pinch of salt. But it seems modern writers who've grown up playing these games tend to forget they are games and narrative stuff you can get away with in games are leaking into their writing which doesn't work.
