Ah these are some of my favorite videos! I have a little story to tell: You probably don't remember, but for the longest time I was planning on taking in the school's leopard gecko and making his care acceptable. Sadly, because of covid that did not happen. B U T, the crested gecko at school did get taken home, and when the girl couldn't take care of him anymore he was given to me. When he came to me he was so hot and dried out he almost died. Every night for about 3 weeks I would make him a water bath and soak him for 20 minutes every 3 hours. I had to sit with him every night to make sure he ate his food. He had nothing but 1 plant in a 10 gallon tank. Now, he's very active and plump and I've never seen him healthier! I just bought a new tank that is around 25 gallons of space, over double the size of his current home. I'm planning on making it bioactive and using a deep heat Projector! As we speak the sticks and bark I'm using are disinfecting. Thank you SO much rebecca, without you and your wonderful videos this little guy would probably be dead. I hope one day I can save the school leopard gecko too! If you read to the end, thank you. You're a real trooper. ♡

Eco earth isn’t great since it tends to be dusty and hard on their joints. It’s also very unnatural. Reptisoil, Scott’s organic top soil, or a bioactive mix would be best.
3:00 i have the smae Temperature controler, i can’t get it to go above 85 even if it’s set to 100. I plan on getting a deep hear projector for christmas but for now i fear my gecko is not warm and that’s making her not poop. Could it be the bulb i’m using or the setter?
One thing I have to stress for enrichment and hides is that fake plants are at the dollar tree! Vines, flowers, rocks, and more are all stuff you can buy in bulk and would make every reptiles happy!
Hello i don't know what to do I am afraid of my baby leopard Geko he bit me once and when i handle him he tries and jumps off my hands and runs away any tips?
Babies are naturally skittish. Slowly get him used to you and your presence. Don’t try to handle them right away. Hand feeding is good to gain trust. Take your time, it’s hard now but soon they’ll be crawling all over you.
Babys are always going to be skittish its a self defence thing if their always running away they cant be eaten so dont worry its normal and them biting isnt a big probolem
hii! so i got my leopard gecko last monday and hes already settled in i have a nice tank for him, but today he made a weird noise when we were spraying the moist hide he looks like he wants to shed soon but im a bit confused
Hey, so I heard you talking about using sunlight for UV and d3 supplements. I use a UV light AND d3 vitamin powder twice a week. Is that too much, or is there such thing as over vitamining?
There is a possibility of your gecko overdosing or suffering from affects of too much vitamins. If you have the correct percentage of uv exposed I would reccomend getting rid of the d3 in the vitamins
Yeah I wouldn't bother with the D3, as you're providing UV (as long as it's correct) the gecko will expose as much or as little of itself to the UV in order to make vitamin D :)

Hello!! Have any leopard gecko friendly Christmas present 😂 I want to make her first Christmas at my house nice for her this year. Any recommendations?
hey!! :) I was gonna ask if a heat mat is completely fine in a wooden vivarium, I just bought a heat mat and the back says that it isn't suitable for wooden vivariums..:(
Is it a good idea to put a little area of slate in my vivarium for feeding, so that it cant accidentally eat the substrate if it misses the insect? I know this isnt likely anyway and im gonna be using earthmix arid but it still kinda worries me lol
Hello! You may remember me commenting on your last vid, I have a supergiant leopard gecko and four wood frogs, my supergiant, in his last home was only fed crickets, how could I switch him onto other food? I have tried to feed him horn worms and mealworms and he didn’t even recognize them as food. I’m not sure what else to do because the crickets well, I have a slight phobia to them and they stink, and they just drop dead sometimes..
I've been looking for a way to incorporate probe thermometers but haven't found any realistic tips on making that possible with a glass-walled and sliding wire-lid vivarium. They cannot be drilled into like the wooden types, of course, so there must be another way to use probes without sacrificing the ability to shut the sliding lid properly. If anyone has any experience in upgrading to probe thermometers with this kind of set-up, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
im currently saving up for a leopard gecko and planning to get 260 dollars the least so i have everything i need for them. If i was to get a heat pad do i need a lighting light or what regular light could i use just to light the tank?

At the moment i dont have him but i will in about 2 weeks ago i have everything set up and clean for the little guy but im still not sure when dusting his food with d3 calcium if i should dust it with d3 everyday or if i should only dust about ones or twice a week (i dont have a uvb light btw)
Hi not sure if i will see this ,i know youre not a vet ,but my Leo is a female and hasn’t eaten in 9days I’ve been giving her supplements by getting her to lick my finger and offered her a variety of different foods but she just has no interest in the food ,do you think I should try her with the pangea liquid type of food paste or just bring her to the vet she also seems to be losing fat in her tail but not her stomach .
I would suggest going to the vet, but yeah maybe wait like 15 minutes for her to reply but if she doesn’t in a little then you should probably go to the vet. I’m so sorry for your leo i hope their okay 👍

I’m watching you with my axolotls (Heureux, Axel and kippy jr) (kippy jr is named after my skink who died last thursday) I’m looking at getting a leo and your so much help, your amazing and now one of my fav pet tubers! I want to get a leo but I have an axolotl tank how would I make the temperature work with both of them?
Aw thank you. Sorry to hear about Kippy, was he very old? I know Axolotls can't get too hot, so I'm not sure whether the leos heat would impact that, i'm not sure 🤔
@@leopardgeckotalk Thanks though, Axolotls like the water temperature to be in the 60-68°F / around 15°C. What ever the air temperature is the water temp will be 2° less, so if the rooms 20° the water will be 18°. But also I have a chiller so that makes it 4° cooler, so that’s 6° cooler in all. We keep my house around 21°C/70°F and so with that my tank is usually 64/65°F or 17/18°C. Would that room temperature be to cold for the Leo, because I can’t really up the temperature much.
If you’re talking about leopard geckos: You don’t need a heat mat, overhead heating is better for them. Arcadia’s deep heat projector or a halogen bulb are the best options. Just keep in mind that halogens need a dimming thermostat such as herpstat. You don’t need UVB but it’s highly beneficial for them.
Thank you for sharing, the video was entertaining. Perhaps some day I may share my leopard geckos setup. Unfortunately, in the US Arcadia products are not available due to covid. I tried ordering a replacement bulb and was told the site did not update their inventory page and we're out of stock. :( So, I guess I'll have to find a temporary alternative for now. Thank you again for sharing the video!
There’s ZooMed, they have good quality UVB bulbs. If you can’t access DHPs then just know that regular basking lamps are actually better because they imitate the infrared heat waves of the sun more.
Someone please give me a solid answer. Do I use UVB or not. I have a blazing blizzard morph and I've been told it will burn them if I use a light and UVB lighting isn't necessary if I'm giving him D3
Hi! i'm getting my first leopard gecko soon and your videos help ALOT. But when it comes to UVB i'm a bit confused. I want to use the one you use, Arcadia pro T5 shade dweller, but it's only about 30 cm long, and my terrarium will be about 90 cm, does it have to cover the whole terrarium so i'll have to buy two, or is one enough? also, do i place the heat mat inside the terrarium or under? love your videos!
Using one 30cm bulb will be fine. Overhead heating would be much better for your gecko. Get Arcadia’s deep heat projector or a halogen bulb (keep in mind that halogens require a dimming thermostat such as herpstat).
You can use either a lamp or a mat. However, the best options are a halogen bulb connected to a dimming thermostat, or Arcadia’s deep heat projector. They’re far more natural and beneficial than heat mats. They produce infrared a and b like the sun, allowing for deep tissue heating.
I know im like 9 months late to the party but i have a question/concern. My gecko is all day in the humid high but at night will go under the hide on the hot side. My gecko very rarely goes to the cool side of the tank where there is a hide. He only goes there to poop. Is that normal?
@@Ky-wp7iu try to upgrade as soon as possible. You can often find cheap secondhand tanks on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. Or just use a large plastic bin
You can upgrade at any time for your leo. A 40 gallon or larger would be best, 20 gallons is only the bare minimum. Just be sure to provide plenty of clutter and coverage.

Hi Rebecca great video 😄
Glad you are settling in!
Thank you!

Maybe when you handle him hold him in the tank and get closer and closer every day
Babys are always going to be skittish its a self defence thing if their always running away they cant be eaten so dont worry its normal and them biting isnt a big probolem
Just keep trying to hold them they will get more tame over time
they will just be like that when they're young
I could see this kind of videos e-v-e-r-y day!!!!!
I have to upgrade mine to a 20gal. After I move and get more stuff for it
Ah nice :)
hii! so i got my leopard gecko last monday and hes already settled in i have a nice tank for him, but today he made a weird noise when we were spraying the moist hide he looks like he wants to shed soon but im a bit confused
Maybe you just spooked him?
Hey, just wanted to ask how your Ants are doing? (If you're still having trouble, I totally recommend Crematogasters!!!)
Thank you for making another great youtube video! You rock!
Thanks!
Thanks! I was surprised to see how healthy he was after watching the videos about getting leos from large pets stores. I still can't believe they had a 10 gallon for 3 to 5 leos. 😑
My gecko is finally happy. Can u believe she was digging her cocopeat. Thanx to you. And what can I do to make her more happy?
Hi, im looking forward to owning a leapard gecko really soon! I wanted to know if gnats were something they could have apart of their diet.(since they’re easy to breed)
the non flying one of course
My gecko is in the one in the thumbnail 😍😍😱😱
I’m freaking out
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I’m so happy
2:32 Oh I’m not going to keep them together I just Quarantined him because I didn’t want any like viruses or parasites to spread to my other gecko😊
And thank you for picking mine😁
Aww awesome, the one with the super cute eyes!
That's great to hear, good practice when getting a new pet. :D
Hello!! Have any leopard gecko friendly Christmas present 😂 I want to make her first Christmas at my house nice for her this year. Any recommendations?
hey!! :) I was gonna ask if a heat mat is completely fine in a wooden vivarium, I just bought a heat mat and the back says that it isn't suitable for wooden vivariums..:(
Love your channel keep up the great videos
Will you be doing more of these in the future I really want to know if my set up is good
Is it a good idea to put a little area of slate in my vivarium for feeding, so that it cant accidentally eat the substrate if it misses the insect? I know this isnt likely anyway and im gonna be using earthmix arid but it still kinda worries me lol
Love these videos💚
Thank you!!

Hello! You may remember me commenting on your last vid, I have a supergiant leopard gecko and four wood frogs, my supergiant, in his last home was only fed crickets, how could I switch him onto other food? I have tried to feed him horn worms and mealworms and he didn’t even recognize them as food. I’m not sure what else to do because the crickets well, I have a slight phobia to them and they stink, and they just drop dead sometimes..
you could try dubias
even worse of a fear of them, and how would I even get him to eat them.. he doesn’t recognize that it’s food.
You don’t need probe thermometers. Temperature guns are great for surface temps, and you can use Acurite (on amazon) for ambient temps.
Is a gecko okay to be in a day-lit room like Holland’s if I still supplement vitamins with d3?
im currently saving up for a leopard gecko and planning to get 260 dollars the least so i have everything i need for them. If i was to get a heat pad do i need a lighting light or what regular light could i use just to light the tank?
Your videos are edited really well - its the one area im struggling with atm. Love the videos though!
Aw thank you :) It takes practice, my first few videos were awful lol, think i was using a very old version of windows movie maker 🙈😂
Ha - I’m struggling with a crappy samsung galaxy tab A 😂
What’s the morph of the leopard gecko in the thumbnail?? Love your videos❤️
How do I enter to get tank review
Yess I love these videos
I am thinking of going bioactive in my leo's cage. Should I use some sort of substrate (and if so, what kind) or dirt or something of the sort?
For my bioactive I use organic soil mixed with sand. It’s miracle gro performance organics and quickrete children’s play sand.
I had some questions about leopard geckos and how much d3 calcium supplement i need to give my baby leopard gecko daily. At the moment i dont have him but i will in about 2 weeks ago i have everything set up and clean for the little guy but im still not sure when dusting his food with d3 calcium if i should dust it with d3 everyday or if i should only dust about ones or twice a week (i dont have a uvb light btw)
Dust with calcium every other feeding and vitamins every three feedings. Or Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding.
Thank you!
@@juliemullins4564 No problem! 👍
@@FishLeFish going to bring her to the vet tomorrow hopefully she will be okay
@@FishLeFish hi sorry for keep replying but she just ate one dubia roach ,do you think I should still take her to the vet?(just looking for an opinion btw)
I have a 20 gallon long fish tank but it isn't front opening and no lid i'm concerned and don't know if its bad or good to keep my gecko in it
Hi!!! I’m so early!!
@@leopardgeckotalk Kippy was 3 months 4 days old, I hatched him 😢
@@leopardgeckotalk Thanks though, Axolotls like the water temperature to be in the 60-68°F / around 15°C.
Thank u for every thing u do
If you use UV do you still have to feed Earth Pro A
Do you need a heat Matt as well as a uvb light?
If you’re talking about leopard geckos:
You don’t need a heat mat, overhead heating is better for them.
Thanks! Sorry to hear that. It's such a shame, they're awesome products.
@thecasualtrollingpuma That's true at least for the US, not sure about UK, but prior to the pandemic they did restock. I've been checking around.
@@gryllidaeperkcal1369 Thank you for your response, I am looking for UVB at the moment. So, I guess ill take a look.
@@leopardgeckotalk Yes they are really good products. Whenever they do restock I'll be sure to pick one up.
Someone please give me a solid answer. Do I use UVB or not. I have a blazing blizzard morph and I've been told it will burn them if I use a light and UVB lighting isn't necessary if I'm giving him D3
I got a leopard gecko last year tomorrow is the same day we got him so I got him presents 🥰
Hi! i'm getting my first leopard gecko soon and your videos help ALOT.
@@moonlark5039 hi! Thank you for your reply! I actually ordered arcadias deep heat projector yesterday as i found out it’s better! :)
Is it safe for a 4-6 month old Leo to have Eco-Earth or Reptisoil substrate?
very greatfull for your help in videos i now have a very happy leo named godzilla
Megan’s leopard gecko is the exact same as mine same morph and everything
So I made a bowl out of clay for my leopard gecko to drink out of and I want to secure it with mod podge like that glue stuff would that be dangerous?
Should I upgrade my juvenile Leo to bioactive for Christmas (he will be like 7 months old) or should I wait till he’s like a year old in may, my bday
It's up to you really. 7 months would be fine, but a few months later will also be fine :)
@@leopardgeckotalk ok thx
Do I need a heat lamp for my leopard gecko or do I need a heat mat or do I need both?
You can use either a lamp or a mat. However, the best options are a halogen bulb connected to a dimming thermostat, or Arcadia’s deep heat projector. They’re far more natural and beneficial than heat mats. They produce infrared a and b like the sun, allowing for deep tissue heating.
So I don’t need both of them
@@Lanena13 correct, you don’t need both of them.
I know im like 9 months late to the party but i have a question/concern.
My gecko is all day in the humid high but at night will go under the hide on the hot side. My gecko very rarely goes to the cool side of the tank where there is a hide. He only goes there to poop. Is that normal?
I have a Leopard gecko and I would like for you to give me options on my tank how would I got about doing that?
Ready to upgrade my gecko to a 20! Im so happy and always wnated to do it
I strongly recommend 40 gallons or bigger, 20 is only the bare minimum.
@@nightinggale6470 i never got to upgrade to 20 but thanks
@@Ky-wp7iu try to upgrade as soon as possible. You can often find cheap secondhand tanks on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. Or just use a large plastic bin
@@nightinggale6470 we have a large plastic bin! Thank you for that suggestion I will upgrade as soon as possible?
at what age or how many months should i move my baby gecko to a bigger cage ?
I have my 2 month old Leo in a 10gallon, what is an appropriate age for her upgrade?? And also for my crestie?
You can upgrade at any time for your leo. A 40 gallon or larger would be best, 20 gallons is only the bare minimum. Just be sure to provide plenty of clutter and coverage.
