Gary, from what I remember all weapons must be the same on each CFT. Fuel and weapons load will always limit your available Gs. Kill BVR with AIM-120, avoid the merge. Keep available energy high and stay low G. No, darn it, you can't eject the CFTs :)
Just a couple of small points about loadout: under the belly are installed AAQ-13 navigation pod and AAQ-14 targeting pod, both part of LANTIRN (Low Altitude and Targeting Infrared for Night) system, while both bombs are PGMs (Precision Guided Munitions), they're GBU-12 LASER Guided Bomb and GBU-38 JDAM GPS guided bomb.
Hi , Gary . What a lovely Kit . I built an F 15 many moons ago and there were nowhere near as many parts . I painted it a sky blue colour , in honour of the first Eagle I saw fly at Farnborough in 1974 . ( Elton And Kiki were in the charts with , Don't go breaking my heart ) . As ever , a very informative and interesting video . With respect , I think I shall call you ; The kit Surgeon .
@@jaws848 yes I would still recommend it. It goes together really well and comes with a good range of ordnance. Of course the decals are a bit tricky at times but overall it's a very nice thing. I'd gladly make another one!
Thank you very much for the great video. It really helped me with my own build since i didnt really understand the instructions very well. Great video!!
Nice kit. I just bought the Revell USA version. Same kit but different decals. This one is better than the Italeri and the Hasegawa. Thanks for your videos.
Nice job! I wonder if they follow the same practice as Airfix and give models to a team member to make? The SNAFUs with the instructions should have been picked up then.
Thanks for the video! Very helpful. I am new to model building and are wondering you you choose these colours? I am afraid I will buy the wrong colours and they will end up looking off
A very nice build, Gary, and that looks like a good kit. Although I’m not sure if the colour scheme is my cup of tea. It’s good to see someone else using Revell 09 Anthracite. It’s such a useful shade. I’m surprised it’s not used more often in UA-cam builds.
You've really got to use anthracite if you want the decals to be visible! The kit does come with the more usual black markings as well if the celebratory eagle isn't your thing! But the kit is a cracker and the fit and finish put a lot of other manufacturers to shame. Half the time you don't really need glue!
Thanks Jozua! Most of the time I use Vallejo Model Air which are pre-thinned, but they often still need a drop or two of airbrush thinner (71.161). Some colours don't need thinning, like British dark green, but others, like many greys, need a little. You can use thinners or even water for Model Color paint too.
Hey quick question: would you suggest this kit, or a different one currently? It would be my third scale model, after a few years of Warhammer experience, so I'm merely new to this part of the hobby. Edit: I do want to stick with 1/72, simply because of storage.
That's very nice indeed - it's light years ahead of the old Airfix B model I'm building at the moment. As someone who's main era of interest is late Cold War jets, I'm definitely going to have get one of these, even if means buying AM decals to go with it. What I find really interesting though is the breakdown of the kit - separate sides, nose etc, and Sparrows in the kit? Revell has definitely left the door open for other models - it'd be great to see them do an A/B or C/D to this standard!
The way the nose is set up, with the fuselage fillet just behind the canopy, there are clearly going to be a range of versions in the future. Even tiny details such as the tail cones right at the back end - different for the A/B to the C/D. And yes, Sparrows on the weapons sprues instead of AMRAAMs. Cool.
Hi Gary, the F15E turned out absolutely perfectly, great going my friend, not certain about the camo scheme, I like the plain grey schemes, greetings from a Kiwi living in Australia
Cheers Les, these celebratory paint schemes can be a bit wild. You can do it without - they supply a few other decals for the very much stealthy black-on-dark-grey look for the same aircraft.
My interest in this aircraft is the 'rumoured' F15 X (or maybe F15 EX) reputed to carry 22+ A-A missles, I wonder what the difference would be? Enjoyed you tips and build, only wish I had purchased it 2 hours ago when I was looking at it in the model shop!
I think the idea is that it's a missile truck - carries all those missiles and lobs them in the general direction of the enemy then the weapons are controlled over networked aircraft such as the F-22 and F-35 closer to the enemy or by AWACS behind the lines. Especially useful with the new AIM-260 long-range missile. The aircraft would probably have different conformal fuel tanks to carry more internal fuel leaving more space on the pylons for multiple missiles.
Cheers Duncan! I don't always use crew figures but I'd have liked to see what their harder plastic and crisper looking moulds could have done with some crew.

I loved that colour of the early F-15A. What a sensation it caused when it appeared! BTW, I love "The Kit Surgeon"!!!
@@garys_stuffhi Gary, do you still recommend this lit.my local shop has it and seriously considering getting it

@@garys_stuff awesome Gary...going to pick it up 2mrw so.cheers👍
It’s cool to come in from my modelling shed after finishing my Lancaster and sit down and watch one of your great videos
Thanks mate! A modelling shed? One day, one day......
Excellent kit. Awesome work.

Nice Egale. I Build 2 F15J from the JASDF with nice Paitings=D

Glass of red and a Gary video. Top stuff.
Is there a particular red that goes well with build videos I wonder? A Californian zinfandel for such an in-your-face American scheme?

Super build Gary that F15 E without doubt
Cheers Dean!

Another good job mate made in poland new company revell is working with big improvement from them
I'll check out a few more of their recent kits too. The quality is very good.

I loved this kit, I have to say. Nothing terribly complex about it and the fit was good.

Looks like an academy rebox
It was a new tooling by Revell in 2022.
Nice build, well done!
Thanks!
Great video. I have a couple from Hkw to start at the same scale
Thanks man!
A Great video! really informative, and what a great result
Thanks, good to know I'm on the right track!
what decal softener do you use?
I use Microset and Microsol - Microset does a good job but to really get into panel lines I need Microsol.
Awesome :)) shame there’s no crew.
Cheers Duncan! I don't always use crew figures but I'd have liked to see what their harder plastic and crisper looking moulds could have done with some crew.
I’ve noticed must other modellers dont use the supplied figures with other kit makers
1ST comment! also looks to be a great kit nice job!
Thanks man!
It's DEH KULL for crying out loud. You're a Brit are you not?
Yes I am, so it's TRANS FERRR technically. For crying out loud.
What's his problem Gary?? Lol.Just another keyboard warrior. What normal person gives a flying f##k how you say decal?? 🤣🤣
