Glad you followed the Japanese decree in 1938 that stated " the Hinomaru shall remain pure of all blemishes" also the accurate primer used. My grandfather was a maintainer for japan during early days of the war when they were based in Thailand. You're the only modeller ive seen that actually builds IJA and IJN aircraft. accurately.
Oh wow that is incredibly interesting!! I definitely did quite a lot of research into this one so i’m glad it paid off! Thanks for the kind words😁
@machmodels before he passed a few years ago he used to tell me about his life during the war. Japanese had a bomber base and fighter base here and they bombed China During the flying tiger days. Also not many people know Thailand had a war against France during WW2 in 1940. He used to say they painted the Hinomaru every day. If there was stains or chips they were punished.
One critique is possibly overkill on paint chipping. Depending on when the model is depicted. Japan had some of the best paint of all nations during ww2 up until September 1943 when an 7.0 earthquake destroyed the main plant. After that multiple manufacturers made paint which was lower quality.
What incredible knowledge! Thank you so much for sharing all of this, if I ever do another Japanese aircraft I’ll be sure to reference this comment!
If i’m being honest I must agree that the chipping went a little overboard… it was just so satisfying!! Thanks again😁
@machmodels my father builds models for the local air force museum so I understand what you mean when you say you do research haha.
it'd be accurate to chip it too, as there historical photos of japanese planes with some chipping on the hinomaru, thus plenty of people build them accurately, are you the guy who was going all over modeller's videos saying their models were awful because they chip the hinomaru? I remember you.
Very nice, that redish color really gives the chipping depth and character. There really is something special about floatplanes.
Thank you! That was the plan to add another dimension to the chips as sometimes they look a little too boring with just the bold aluminium shining through😁
At first I thought the chipping was overdone, but looking at reference images, it's spot on, well done!
I can see why you would think that! But all of my chipping was done off of reference images😁
really cool effects with the oil paints, congrats for the build.
Greetings.
Thank you! Glad you liked it😁
Hi buddy, fantastic build and paint job. You have done the kit justice, a very nice aircraft indeed. cheers Gary 🇬🇧
Thank you very much Gary! Glad you enjoyed it😉
That's quite something....... very nice indeed. Beautifully produced and presented video too 👍🏻👌🏻👏🏻
Thank you very much mate! Glad you enjoyed it😁
Great job, love the chipping. I will have to give that a go!
Thank you! It’s a really simple yet effective technique, let me know how you get on!👌🏻😁
Nice work Luke, outstanding.
Thank you very much!! Glad you like it😁😁
Super work Luke! Seriously love the look of that weathering
Thank you Joe! Glad you like it😁😁
Impressive build and awesome chipping effect!
Thank you very much! Glad you like it😁
Impressive! The chipping and paint fading are exquisite!
Thank you very much! Glad you like it😁😁
Fantastic looks great I love the weathering effects 👍👍
Thank you dude! Glad you like it😁
Pretty awsome build. The chipping and the overall paint job, really like what you did with damage stencil decals, scary to watch, but the effect was very convincing. I have a motorized Tamiya version of this aircraft havent built it yet. Since its motorized i want to display taking off or touching down so im researching the water effects (splash or wave) and what it looked like.
Anyway great looking build congratulations.
Thank you very much! It was scary for me as well… rather tense buttocks! Wow that sounds like it would look great - let me know how you get on👌🏻
Nicely done!
Thank you very much! Glad you like it😁
An absolutely great build! Not to mention this upload schedule is downright impressive! You should defo be proud of this build!!! 😁
Thank you very much mate! Haha yeah the videos do seem to be rolling out pretty steadily at the moment😁
Nice video build xx 😊
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it😁
Wonderful! 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much mate!😁😁
I would like to see a F1M Pete build. I'm fascinated with the history of amphibious planes in the South Pacific
from the late-1930s on.
Are you familiar with anyone who does a kit?😄
Very well done! And amazing video work, I’m excited to see the next one!
Thank you mate! Glad you liked it😁
awesome work of art
Thank you so much mate!
Fantastic paint job. Looks great. LLooks
Not much of a paint job left!!! But thank you very much😁
Awesome stuff!
Thank you very much dude!!😁
Nice work. Really enjoyed the video. 😊
Thank you dude! Glad you enjoyed it😁
Great build and video.
Thank you sir!😉
Awesome build and awesome video as always 🎉 great job on the chipping
Thank you very much bud! Really appreciate it😁
IMO, that's the ONLY way a Rufe should be finished! Well done.
Thank you sir!😝
Very nicely done. I'm not really a fan of of Japanese aircraft, however I do like the Rufe, so guess I'll have to add it to stash.🤔👍👍
Thank you very much! Definitely a unique subject but a joy to build so I must recommend😁
Perfect ❤️
Thank you very much! Hugely appreciated😁
Hello! Great job and coloring. Tell me the height of the model, on a transport cart. Will it fit on my shelves, with models?)
Thank you! Unfortunately I don’t have a hold of my Rufe at the moment, a friend is keeping it for a while! I don’t believe it is anymore than 15cm tall though!😁
Thank you for your help, I would like to know for sure. I want to buy and make this model, but I'm afraid it won't fit on my shelf, I have a distance between the shelves of 12-13 centimeters...@@machmodels
ffin gorgeous that !!!!
Thank you very much dude! Much appreciated😄
Love it bud!🤩
Thank you dude! Glad you like it😁😁
Отлично!)
Thank you!😁👌🏻
Interesting thing to note, when chipping with hairspray/chipping fluid, you actually don’t need to be fast, it’s a myth. Your paint chips slightly easier when it’s only been put down for a short time but I’ve done chipping hours later with no bad results.
Well how about that! Thank you very much for letting me know👌🏻
Fantástico! 🏆👏
Thank you! Glad you like it😁
@@machmodels 👍👍👍
What color is the inside of the cowl? Is it black like the outside? Would you happen to know?
I believe I painted mine black but I’m not sure if that’s historically accurate!😁
Amazing went to hannants and was given your card
Thank you sir! Hope you enjoyed it down there!👌🏻
Wow another vid
Haha yeah! Too fast?!
хорошо покрашено, но есть ошибки - на главной стойке имелось выходное V-образное отверстие маслорадиатора, а также отверстие для выхода гильз....Переплет фонаря внутри имел черный цвет....
Thank you! Really appreciate the information as well, I’ll make sure to take it into consideration for the next one😁👌🏻
Maybe one day you could try an airliner kit
Perhaps! Not really my flavour unfortunately👌🏻
Wait you paint all parts before assemble?
I had to paint a couple of the parts before hand as if I fitted the photo etch at the same time I’d probably paint over some of that lovely detail… if that makes sense🤣
第5航空隊所属 キスカ島?
Ehhh I think so… although my knowledge of the scheme isn’t brilliant!
oh dear another so say expert on you tube
I don’t think I ever called myself an expert! If I did I really apologise because I don’t consider myself anywhere near the level of an expert!
@@machmodels your right your not but you still expect to make money out of it
@@derekryan4299 ehh no this channels main purpose is to document my builds and talk about how I get on with a kit. Rather rude to assume that I do this for revenue🥲
@@machmodels fine you may go your dissmissed
Extremely strong British accent.
Haha! Hopefully that’s a good thing?!🤣
"As per se"...just stop with that. Great build besides the overuse of that term.
Okay! Thanks for the feedback I shall try stop😁
