Wrong. That's not Southern, at all. After your black friend says, "I like watermelon," would you reply, "That's the most black comment I've heard all day." ?
❓🤔❓ As someone born in North Carolina, then moved to Pennsylvania in 1980 at age 12, I've never even heard of Whataburger...... It kinda sounds like a made up TV show burger joint, like "Burger World" from Beavis and Butt-Head. Come to think of it, "Whataburger" sounds even faker than Burger World! That's it, I've convinced myself that Whataburger is completely bogus!
Whataburger doesn’t seem to care anymore. I’ve eaten it all my life and my mom was from Corpus so I’m old school with it. It’s like they step on each burger now before they sell them.
I've never had a bad experience at Whataburger personally...could be that location. We're just gonna have to agree to disagree on this burger issue- but we're still having a good time! ✋
Only ate what a burger once, San Antonio. Was told would rock my world! Even if i hadn't heard your rant on it, i would still describe the food as baffling. I kept eating, thinking, how can this hamburger not taste like anything? Eleven years ago, havent gone back once. I wanted to like it, i wanted to have a good time.
Whataburgers are legendary here in Texas. One, if not the best, burgers around. Try em now, because the family just sold the whole shootin match to a big company. So far, they are still great, but thats bound to change as profits take over.
Whataburger is indeed just another fast food place, as you say. But, at least here in Texas, it’s 24 hours. So at 3:30am, it’s a life saver. Love your comedy!
For the record, Whataburger was originally a Texas thing and used to be awesome. They started branching out to other states and then got bought out by a group from Chicago, of all evil places. They aren’t that good now.
Dusty, I'll tell you a secret I learned many years ago (pre-Internet Era, in fact): _The best burgers are usually in local places._ Forget the big chain restaurants if you want a decent burger. That goes double if you're looking for a cheeseburger. Whataburger, McD's, etc...none of them will achieve burger excellence. Sonic Shmonic, they're not too great either. The whole corporate franchise model forbids culinary achievement. You want to look for a place owned by a _local_ citizen, that doesn't have any other restaurants under the same name outside the city it's in.
I was born and raised in California, lived for almost a decade in West Virginia, and now I’ve lived another decade in Texas. My burger experience is extensive. I’ll tell ya. Texans LOVE Whataburger. In my opinion, their onion rings are great. Their burgers, not so much. The buns are a little weird. Kinda chewy. And there’s always an ever so delicate hint of dishwater smell about the buns. The burger patties themselves are probably supplied by the same company that does school lunches. I don’t know, maybe the dishrag smell comes from the meat patties. But as a colon cleanse, highly recommended.
Dude! The Whataburger grilled chicken sandwich with white gravy!!= I used to get them all of the time. 😃 I used to live in Phoenix Arizona none are in my Vegas now though 😢
My wife has hyped up In n Out burgers for years. We finally drive 4 hours to Dallas and I finally tried it. I wasted 400 miles of gas and my life for mediocrity.
Ive heard so much about it online. People hype it up like its the chick fil a of burgers. Im in florida though so ive never tried it. Thanks for saving me the trip to california or wherever the heck in n out is.
I was born and raised in L.A. and there are lots of other great burger joints in Southern California other than In N Out that you all need to check out if you ever come to visit Los Angeles. Here’s my list. 1: The Hat Burgers and pastrami’s in the San Gabriel Valley. 2: Dinos Chicken and Burgers in Lincoln Heights. Dino’s has an amazing double pastrami cheeseburger. 3: Legends Burgers in Glendora Ca. Great food, great restaurant. 4: Baker’s drive-through locations In both San Bernardino and Riverside county’s. They also have great burritos and one dollar taco Tuesdays. 4: Bobs Big Boy In Burbank Ca. The Big Boy double cheeseburger is amazing. 5: The Habit Burgers. 6: Jack in the Box Jumbo Jack burger. 7: Carl’s Jr. Burgers. You can yelp all of these locations.
you are so dang funny...so happy utube took me here...moved from southern califonia to southern missouri for my retirement gift...only thing i miss is greasy jack in the box 99 cent tacos...man i love them greasy tacos..we have a whataburger in town...never been
I grew up in western New York where there are tons of one off burger joints/hot dog stands. They’re all much better than any chain burger joints. Bill Gray’s has several locations but they’re really local to Rochester, which is the home of the Garbage Plate.
Never tried Whataburger, but there's so much competition in the burger market. Had a good burger at Fuddruckers the other day. A place called 80/20 in Norfolk is excellent if we're going a pricier route. By the way, couldn't help but notice the Harry Belafonte spirituals album on the wall (My Lord, What a Mornin') - some great music on there!
"So we good" is the fast food equivalent of "we're having a good time." She wasn't asking, didn't want to risk it. Jim Bob's fried shrimp are the best. They got Jesus in 'em. I think running into you at random in Opelika would be one of the high points of my life. But there's a lot of dudes that look like you in Opelika, so I might not know if it ever happens.
Love the content, especially the shoutout to Jim Bob's. Few things: haha, yea man, you're eating the junk food but protecting your daughter for the reasons you mentioned... just lack of self-discipline, which we all struggle with. Food poisoning wouldn't take that long to take effect. 4-12 hrs is standard.
I'd say the same thing about 5 Guys except it's twice the money. So if I was given a choice between the two I'd pick Whataburger. Diarrhea and a little more money in my pocket.
Boy I’m about to give you something extra mustard!!! I hear you loud and clear Dusty. You don’t like TEXAS! Well I was watching your UA-cam videos and I never noticed a stop by our state or a polite mention. Fair enough compadre…
I used to love Whataburger. The one in town was always slow, but they started taking 20 to 30 minutes of waiting in the drive-thru for food. I went a few times and then got tired of waiting so long, so i tried to go inside the restaurant to place my order. It still took like 20 minutes. So, i thought id get a head start and place an online order about 15 minutes before i got there, and it STILL took 30 minutes. They were never busy when i ordered my food. Even if they were, there is absolutely no reason a FAST FOOD restaurant should take 30 minutes to make your food. Ill never go to Whataburger again. Well, not that one. Maybe if i go out of town ill get it.
I 1000% agree What-a-burger is the worst fast food I have ever had. I can remember there was a friend of mine back in high school and she lived for Whataburger. She would talk about it every day during lunch she was gonna go after school and get her a burger. She wasn’t going to eat no cafeteria food I had Whataburger one time and it was, the worst burger that was probably a quarter of a half of a quarter thin and the lettuce was was brown and slimy the cheese was not even on the burger it was mostly on the paper. It was absolutely disgusting horrible worst place ever.
I worked at a 24 hr a day factory. Only place close was Whataburger. We could feed the troops with Whataburger for those late nights when we got called in to fix the machines and some of those folks didn’t bring lunch. It was pretty darn good when first made, but we often had to wait to eat so it was cold and not so tasty. Still Jonesing for a hot one fresh made. They don’t suck.
I'm from Texas and now live in Columbia, TN and I never understood Whataburger. I believe it's just because it's been around so long and it's a Texas original. People from Texas get real excited about Texas originals. It's the same hamburger patty as Sonic's.
The last time I had Whataburger was 1987? 88? in Albuquerque. The gristle, or the bone chip? I dont know what sat worse with me. We never went back. That and we moved. That cuts ones ability to try again.
You need to have Patrick Mahommes QB CHIEFS and part owner of Whataburger as a guest and talk whataburger since he's spearheading a huge movement of the chain in Kansas City
Whataburger breakfast burrito is so good but I rarely go, i made the mistake of getting in the wrong drive thru lane, for 45 minutes I was stuck watching countless cars go through line B while no one moved in my line. Never ever again.

You didn’t go to one in Texas, that’s the problem, before they were bought out it was always the place to go, more people there than at chick fil a and McDonald’s

It's true. Whata's Popularity among Texan raised folks has certainly declined because of it too.
Its true but still the best fast food burger imo
I heard the same. When the founding family owned it it was really good. I know them btw - very kind people.
