My grandparents had their headstone set out years before they died. Just had to arrange the date to be inscribed when the service was completed. I thought was good of them to plan ahead for a marker they KNEW they were going to need. Plus, they got to see the forever product.
Thank you!
My favorite memory happened in real life. My dad was a pastor and was doing a graveside funeral. He got too close to the grave and fell in. He was ok and I never laughed so hard as a kid. Still makes me laugh today. I didn’t grow up in a funeral home but as a kid I got a healthy course in death.
Oh Lord! I'm glad he's ok. Had that been me, that would've scared the crap outta me. But reading it now & picturing it in my mind's eye, I'm laughing. I'm sorry😂🤣😂🤣
Thank you
My dad was a preacher too.
Weddings and funerals are apart of this life
Kari i just checked, it is The Casketeers on Netflix. The owner and his wife are so respectful of the dead. You would like it. They are your kind of nice people.
Thank you
John in the overalls. He looks like Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday in Tombstone.
Oh nice!
That was the first thing to came to my mind when I saw John. And I find overalls to be so tacky. Sorry John
The house they used as the FH in "My Girl" is literally about ten minutes from me
Very cool!
Great video,having too much fun........Kari,love your hair&makeup
Thanks so much!
Yeah the first one plays in Pennsylvania.
But the 'Sultenfuss Funeral Parlor' is 555 East Stanford Street, Bartow, Route 60, 40 miles east of Tampa.
Edit: oh, and Ryan(?) looks like German singer/songwriter Mark Foster. _(you have to google him, if I post links, YT deletes my posts)_
Not gonna lie: Brian(?) reminds me of Russel Crowe and/or Gerard Butler.
Movies about funerals? There are so many...but two that instantly spring to mind are:
- Death at a Funeral (UK, 2007)
- What we did on our Holiday (UK, 2014)
Yes he does!!
Kari remind me of a young Sigourney Weaver
i see that
I started in funeral service in on the west coast in the early 70's and all cemeteries required either a liner or a vault. When a vault was used the base was in the grave and the upper "bell" portion was always held in the yard waiting for the graveside to be finished. The dirt was always there covered with fake grass for the flowers to be put on, and all the sod was cut out of the grave to be placed back on the grave. Would find it interesting that you could have a service in the morning in one section, and then in the afternoon in a adjoining section you could not tell where the service was from the morning except for flowers.
Thank you
I like John's overalls. Back in the day (late 1970's) Brod-Dugan painters overalls were all the rage. HS kids wore them to school. True story.
Very cool
early 2000's was a show called "family plots" about a family run mortuary in Poway, Ca. I liked that show a lot.
OMG I remember that show. It’s was like reality tv at a family mortuary. I liked watching it.
Yes they did a bunch of illegal stuff and got in a lot of trouble
@@KaritheMortician so I guess that explains why the show got canceled. 🧐🤔
When I worked in a dental office I hated toothpaste commercials because it reminded me of work 😂
Yaaay caught you live again. So happy. Such a pleasure! ❤️
Yay! Thank you!
In general movies, shows have been blurring the lines between REALITY and FICTION....
Very true
Brian has a smile like Garth Brooks.
Yes he does
A production company was given the okay by my employer for actors to shadow selected employees for a TV drama series in the 90's. The series was canceled after 4-5 episodes. I watched the 1st episode & thought it was a waste of time. I had forgotten the title of the show, that's how forgettable it was. I believe if they cannot get a true depiction of what is done in FH's or medical examiner's offices, they should leave it alone. A lot of film footage from prep & autopsy rooms is left out of many shows & movies.
Oh dang
Glad you guy's done this video very interesting how would guy's take care of a body with bee stings all over the face?
I would have to see how the tissue felt and some trial and error. I have never had a deceased with that kind of trauma
Now I have to go back to an old favorite movie, “About Schmidt” with Jack Nicholson. There are funeral arrangements and a graveside service, I’ve got to rewatch.
yes!

@@KaritheMortician your very welcome
I have no idea if John is married and I know yall are in different areas but I always see definite chemistry between Kari and John.
How about "Just Buried" with Jay Baruschel? It might be too quirky to have much procedure in it - been quite a while since I watched it.
I will check it out
When I had my mom's foot stone done, the person's who did her stone, asked if I wanted my name on it. I told them "no," bc I thought it would cause bad luck.
The fella must've thought I was crazy.
By the way: they did a very nice job.👍🏾❤🌷✝️
Does the business that made the 'grave marker' charge a higher price for a 'foot stone' than for a 'head stone?' (Curious, and humorous)
Very nice
LOVED "6ft Under!"
Best ending ever
love your shows
thank you!

Kari you resemble joely fisher, connie Steven’s daughter.
Yes I have been told that!!
Love her and you!!! 👍
John looks somewhat like Dean Cain.
Yes nice!
Its funny..but since I have learned much more about the funeral business and embalming process I find myself correcting every single movie or show i watch that has these types of scenes in them..lol..The movie that made me laugh the most about the embalming process has to be Return of the Living Dead..its just horribly funny
Yes it was good!
Do you guys embalm alone or have others present to help
Both. There are times where there's just one person, and times where there are two. Depends on the situations and what is happening that day.
Y’all are funny, but then I have a warped sense of humor.
Thank you!
Watch the videos of reaper company

@@randyfritz2094 I listen to her.
Joan Cusack. Don't know who the guys look like but Kari looks like Joan Cusack.
I can see that!
@@KaritheMortician let me also say the *younger* Joan Cusack because I have not seen one of her movies in about 15 or more years. I meant to edit that earlier but forgot.
Dramas & Fiims generally have an expert on site to pick up on things that go wrong ... not good to miss the faults, irritating ... ☹
Yeah they don't with this business
Kari I think that you look a little like Tina Faye
I will need the funeral home name to send you that bottle of wine.😂
