My mom passed away last month and she looked Amazing! Mind you I got to see her before and after the prep! My mama looked “Snatched!” Brows and all!!! You did a good job!!!!!!!
Thank you! My condolences to you and your family! 🤍
Hey all! If you want to see the photo pause the video and you’ll be able to see it. Out of respect for the family and people who may have wanted to hear about the experience and not see the photo I only left it there for a few secs.
Where is it?
Yah what time stamp can we find it at??
I just think it’s crazy that the funeral home didn’t have a solid place to do makeup! That’s an art, and it’s honestly one of the most important parts of the funeral! If the makeup isn’t good, they don’t look like themselves! You did amazing!
Elijah-James mac this is very true and my thoughts exactly! Thank you for watching ❤️
They have a place for professionals in the prep room. If there are additional bodies in the room, families or people who aren’t funeral home professionals aren’t allowed. They don’t have dedicated spaces because it’s typically the funeral home professionals that apply makeup when I first started I thought the same thing.
my grandmother just passed and they’re asking me to do her makeup. i’m extremely nervous but i know that i owe this to her. thanks for this video 😔
prkjjmiin I’m so sorry to hear that! I know you will do great. ❤️ thank you for watching I hope it helped ❤️
See that heart broken have to do you’re family member that’s something I could never cause I would break down in tears
How did it go? I was just asked to do it for my aunt
I know u did great hun
Aweeee thats amazing that you would do that for her! I always thought of it as, she's taken care of me her whole life, let me do this for her one last time kind of thing. Hope it went well and it gave you some closure!
You did a great job! I did my mother’s makeup and my stepbrother’s mother too. My mother’s eyebrows never looked so good, lol. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I did the same thing I threw out the makeup and brushes. My friend owns the funeral home where they both had their wakes. He said whenever he needs someone for makeup he’s calling me.
Tara Angel sounds like you did an awesome job! My condolences to you and your family! If you love to do brows like me the eyebrows are an instant slay lol
@@faceofamodel whats wrong with you looking at dead people and giving them make up and making money from a video about it
You did a beautiful job! Today I’m doing my sister-in law makeup for her home going and this video was very informative. Thank you
Thank you so much I’m glad I could help! Thank you for watching ❤️
This was a very helpful video. I'm gonna help my friend dress a body on Tuesday. I was a lil shaky, but this helped me to remember that it's mind over matter!
My best friend passed a couple of years ago and her family asked me to do her makeup. I couldn’t I immediately said no I was too distraught. I hope she understands I love her dearly but I couldn’t do it.
Bless you honey. My best friend died in 2015 in a car accident- she died of internal bleeding so her face etc. was ok. Me and two other best friends did her hair, makeup and grooming. I worked on her makeup and she had pcos which made her get facial hair that was her biggest insecurity. I had watched her pluck every day, so I knew it was important to her. She looked beautiful, but I don’t think I could have done it on my own. I am positive your friend’s family understood. Maybe if they asked more than just you to work on her it could have helped you. That’s huge pressure to put on one person, and it’s not for everyone. I hope you’re healing from your loss 💗
This was so interesting to watch! And she looks so stunning. You did a great job and I can only imagine the peace and closure the family felt from seeing their loved one look so naturally beautiful even in death.
Falon Long thank you so much Falin, thank you for watching love ❤️☺️
Thank you for sharing this. I'm going my grandmother's makeup tomorrow. 🤍
Thank you so much for sharing your story. This is something I’m trying to get into. Thank you
Tiffany Watson no problem thank you for watching!!
My 19 yr old was asked and will be doing makeup on a family member next week!! Thank you for the insight 🙏☺
I love this video!! I’m going to mortuary school this fall and I can’t wait to work as an undertaker and do great makeup on on the deceased ❤️
Thank you! Can you keep me updated on your experience and how you like it?
Absolutely!! You did a great job on the lovely lady, makeup was beautiful!!
Thank you fir sharing this. I just left a viewing today and my friend looked nothing like her usual self. It was so hard to see, but I wanted to understand what goes into the process of mortuary makeup. Thank you for what you do 💖
Super Blue Blood Moon this was my first time ever but it was quite an experience.
You did a great job. What a gift you gave the family in a very difficult time. Your kind, professional, compassionate response to their need was above and beyond. Your video will help many people. In a time where people feel helpless, you gave them back comforting control. I say keep on keeping on! God bless you girl!
Thank you so much!! Thanks for watching 🤍
This is such a beautiful thing you can do for a family. I’ve personally asked my best friend to do my makeup because she is the ONLY one who knows exactly how I like my brows and highlighter etc.
Thank you! Thanks for watching! Thats actually not a bad idea to think about who will be doing mines 😭
Thanks so much for this! I gotta call like this today! I’m very nervous but you convinced me to say yes! God bless
I’m so glad I could help love I have another video I filmed a few weeks ago I’ll link it for you to check that one out as well in case you were wondering about products or anything.

I get to do my big sisters make up for her funeral. Thank you for this video
Condolences to you and your family ❤️Thank you for watching! I’m glad I could help 🙏🏾
Thank you for this! I’m doing a dear friends makeup tomorrow before her viewing & I’ve been super nervous. You did an amazing job!❤️
Did you set her face with anything when you finished? Did you add lashes by any chance?
Hi sorry I’m late I didn’t add lashes I believe I don’t really remember because they put sunglasses on her. I set her face with Kryolan translucent powder
You did a great job! I can tell you first hand doing makeup on the dead blending is challenging because the skin isn’t warm anymore. I had to do a client of mine that had just turned 30. Next week I have to do my Aunt she requested before she passed ❤️
Thank you so much! And you’re absolutely right! How was your experience if you don’t mind me asking? Condolences to you and your family🙏🏾
@@faceofamodel It was Similar to yours lol. I was a bit Nervous not only because she was deceased, but she was a actual friend to me. I literally did her hair a week prior before she passed. I have since went on to do others. Ive done a teenager, and a few other adults I’m kinda emotional 🙂so it’s never easy, but it is a rewarding feeling when the family is happy!!!
Yes! I agree! I’m super emotional as well but I don’t know what happened that day. I went into full work mode 😩
Very interesting. I just finish doing my grandmother a couple weeks ago. You did a great job!
Wow! You did an amazing job!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you! ❤️❤️
I believe that you done an excellent job on the deceased and the way you described how people were giving you the complements about her make-up and how her family loved your work.
Thanks so much Susan! Thank you for watching ❤️
You’re awesome. She looked great. Amazing job
Thank you!! 🫶🏾
This video has really helped me..My mum passed away recently and I'm doing her makeup for her..So thankyou for sharing your experience! x
You have NO idea how much your video has helped ease my mind! I am a makeup artist . But have never worked on the deceased. Recently, someone very near and death to me passed . I have always done her makeup so her son asked if I would be comfortable with doing her makeup for the funeral. I had so many thoughts . I have looked for so many videos but yours answered each and every question/worry I had. You had the exact same thoughts I had lol. Except this will be a bit emotional for me as she was a friend. Thanks again for your video!’ Blessings
Wow! I’m so happy to hear that I could help. I’m so sorry for your loss. Let me know how everything went for you. I would love to hear it. Also, thanks for watching ❤️
You did a great job. Her skin looks so natural and alive.
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm also a professional MUA and I'm doing my aunt's makeup for her funeral in a couple of days. Giving more confidence and what to expect. Also its beautiful to see so many ppl in the comments have done or doing a family member's makeup. Peace and blessings❤
Thank you! and Thank you for watching I would love to hear how it went!? Yes I agree I didnt know this video would have so many viewers!

Same . My anxiety is through the roof .
@@dwildon1 it wasn’t that bad. Once you get past the initial nervousness, you’ll realize it’s not bad. You’ll get through it
@@tairejai6028 u are right it’s like soon as I walked in she wasn’t family anymore she was a client. Soon as I got in my car I broke down !
Beautiful work!!! Also, the perfection of your eyebrows is a work of art! I would absolutely consider burial instead of cremation if I had you to do my makeup!
Wow thank you so much, what a compliment 🙏🏾🤍
Beautiful job, her skin looks so natural and smooth.
Thank you! ❤️
She looks amazing!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
You did an excellent job 👌🏻
You did an amazing job!
Nurse Lisa thank you so much!
My mom works in a funeral home and loves it. She's always had compassion for others and this is great for her. They care not only for the deceased, but the families as well. Each client they have is treated with the utmost respect and they continue checking with the families making sure they are ok.
You did amazing !
thank you so much!
I was wheezing at Wet N’ Wild 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Also - her lipstick looked great. Very natural
Melissa Minakakis girl i was confused ok 😩
Modestly Quesha it sounds like you handled it very professionally and helped this family have a good experience seeing their loved one for the last time

Tamala Santa Anna thank you soooo much love! Thanks for watching ❤️
Where would i need to pause at
Wow you did awesome. She looked really good.
Thank you so much! ❤️
I’m not a makeup artist by any means, but it’s so interesting to watch this video regarding your experience. As someone who’s worked around the dying and deceased, it really is mind over matter.
I remember my step-father’s funeral many years ago. One of the first things I noticed was how much thinner his lips and nose were. It’s so crazy the physical changes that occur that changes one’s appearance after death, especially black decedents. I think you did a beautiful job and it sounds like you may have calling in life sis. Best of luck to you and everything you do!
The photo is at 11:21, y'all, and she looked beautiful. Excellent work!
Thanks ❤️
Amazing job!
You definitely did a Beautiful job!

Thank you!
You did a very good job on her i would be nervous about doing that you were so brave to do makeup for her even though she was dead
Thank you so much! thank you for watching
I was asked to do a extended family members makeup for her home going. Did the funeral home require you to have a cosmetologist license or a specific sort of training certification?
Thank you for watching! They did not love.
Thank you for sharing!

Hi I’m am Artist and this video has helped me tremendously.. my first makeover on a deceased person is tomorrow and you really broke the ice for me thank you 🙏🏽
I’m so happy I could help! Wow! Thanks for this comment! ❤️ it’s literally nothing to worry about. I actually just did another person a few days ago and I believe I’m interested in a job as a mortuary makeup artist
What did you prep/prime her skin with? And did you pat her foundation on, and did you use powder?
cheryl blackfitz I believe I used makeup forever primer and I used a brush and a cosmetic wedge for blending foundation. I use translucent powder to set.
I think you did a wonderful job she looked very beautiful ❤️
Thank you!
This is what I am going to school for in May 2022, You did an amazing job girlfriend. Much Respect!
Thank you so much and blessings to you in school ❤️
@@faceofamodel Thank you so much that means a lot 💕

My great aunt is in hospice… So it’s any day now! Helping my mom plan the funeral. To cut cost I volunteered to do her makeup! I did ALL my younger siblings and cousins! From prom to weddings!

Girl you did great 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌💕💕💕💕💯💯💯💯💯💯💖💖💖💖💖
Thank you! 🤗
Wow she look so beautiful an at rest. She was glowing! I need your help please! I am doing my grandmom hair and soft makeup soon. What shimmer on the eyes an face did u use? My grandmom never wore makeup at all. Just lips, blush or powder. I want a nice glow and soft lip. What do u suggest? I dont want her face to look dry at all.
Hi love I suggest you use a cream or stick based foundation and a light weight setting powder to set, but not actually setting the makeup as in baking but just dusting powder until you see a “natural like” skin appearance. As far as shimmer I used an eyeshadow and added a few lightweight glitter particles nothing extreme but because she’s older I’m sure neutral shades will be good. Or just make her look as close to natural as possible. Really limit and be careful of the amount of product you use. If you want to get a feel for it go and do it as early as you can so that you can fix anything you don’t like/ get an understanding of the skin texture. Use products sparingly though, that’s worked for me. For lips, try to go with something that will mimic the color of her natural lip shade. My condolences to you and your family! I’m sure you will do an awesome job.
@@faceofamodel wow I appreciate you so much Queen. This was so informative and helpful. Will do! Thank you so much for the help and the prayers, condolences. That was my Queen, my baby. I am truly going to miss her. 💔🙏🏽🙌🏽
@@faceofamodel I also wanted to know if you suggest I moisture and prime the skin as well? I want her to look slightly dewy or just glow. Did you use off brand products that were affordable for the deceased lady makeup?
I used primer from makeup forever and foundations from kryolan
I only used primer I believe I’m not sure if I moisturized
Thank you so much for this ! I just got hired to do a funeral for the first time and Before watching this I was nervous
I’m so glad I could help thank you! And thanks for watching ❤️
My cousin recently passed away and I was asked to do her makeup, and I was a little skeptical and nervous!!! But watching this video put my nerves at ease 😍❤️❤️❤️ so thank you.
I was just asked to do makeup for my aunt so thanks for the tips
Go sis!!!!!!!!!!! 😁
Do you mind if i ask what products and types of sponges you used? some tips too please?
prkjjmiin of course not I used cosmetic wedge sponges. And some cheap synthetic brushes from Bh cosmetics but you can also get them from the beauty supply. I used kryolan makeup for foundation.
You can prep like regular skin prep. Then skin is different because it’ll be cold and feel like clay but it will still help the makeup adhere well when using products as if the person were still alive.
Oh yeah you had her face on point!!!!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you so much!!
I’m doing my Nanny’s make up for her funeral soon, thanks for this video.
no problem! I'm glad I could help!
U did amazing 🥲 I came across ur video because I am in charge of doing my auntie makeup because everyone loves how I do makeup I am nervous and am looking for all the tips I can get glad I know I can go to Sephora and do my thang

What products did you use? You really did a Good job!
Thank you! Kryolan
How long does it take to learn this? I have 0 experience with make up or restorative art or sculpting.
I’m an makeup artist I have no experience with mortuary makeup aside from this experience.
U did a great job
Thank you so much!
I don't think I could have done that I'm very emotional person I don't no if I could have kept it together
I'm doing my first one to mow do they good
The make up looks good
Thank you love ❤️
How did the skin texture feel?
Its really cold with a mixture of our skin texture but also like clay.
Where is the photo so we can see your work? It says photo included?
11:22 ish
I'm going to do my sister's makeup for her funeral. I watched other videos on the subject. And they said you can't use regular makeup. Is that true?
I used kryolan products but I have saw videos where people stated that they used regular makeup and it worked for them.
@@faceofamodel thank you💛
I was asked to do my cousins makeup for her funeral. She just passed couple days ago. What I wanted to know was what kind of makeup you used. I see you said a cream foundation nut which one.? Did you contour and highlight? Like did you do anything different that you would normally do on a live client. I am extremely nervous and I know it’s gonna be hard because I was close to her. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
I used kryolan makeup she was na older woman so I didn’t have to do any contouring abs highlighting just try abs stick to doing more natural makeup nothing too dramatic and don’t over think it it’s nothing to be nervous about. Try and make the person look as natural as possible because they are already deceased but you can only do so much so keep that in mind as well. Sorry for your loss.
@@faceofamodel so I can use maybelline foundation. Do you think I need to do a light contour and highlight.. did you use mascara
Thank you
Where is the pic?
Hey hunny so I just got offered to do this for the very first time too service is on the 17th I’m freaking out but after watching your video I feel a lot better about it especially knowing you can just use regular make up. Any recommendations or tips you can give me? And how much did you charge, if that’s ok to ask? Please lmk I would really appreciate it. Blessings Thank you 🙏
Yes it’s nothing to worry about! I used kryolan makeup. I forgot how much I got paid I believe about $200 if I’m not mistaken. They also took me to get the makeup
With funeral makeup you can really charge more
I’m glad I could help! ❤️
Thank you so much for your help 🙏🙏
Hey hunny real quick sorry it’s so late but I’m looking up this kryolan makeup and it’s pretty pricy and these days I’m on a real tight budget lol you recommend any other make up that’s more affordable that will do the job? Lmk thank you 🙏
U did a good job. I have to do my aunt and I wanna make sure I’m ready
Thank you! How did it go?
You did an awesome job. I'm a makeup artist and I was asked to do makeup on a deceased person. I was just doing some research and came across your video. I saw a glimpse of what you did and it looked amazing. This was encouraging. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! And Thank you for watching! It is not as bad as it seems. I believe you’ll do great!
