Have to respect any man willing to work in a shop what appears too hot for the dog. I built a visor for my 51, i think it was the favorite part of my build. Just subscribed!
@@RatRodBobBuilds had to fix my dump trailer in my uncooled building the other day. Felt like i was in a pressure cooker. Welding in that heat was no fun.
Looks great. You're an artist my friend. Loving the look. Look forward to seeing the bare metal treatment on the rest of the car. Be safe and stay well.
I wanted a small lip around my fresh air vent that we spoke about earlier. The shape is mostly flat so i cut a 1/2” plywood buck and routed the edges with a 3/8 rounding over bit. After cutting a piece of 20 gauge i clamped it to the plywood and the began lightly tapping it into the curve, i heated the corners and tapped gently, shrinking the metal easily. After about 90 minutes the curved edges were formed. Careful grinding and filing of the bottom edge perfected the shape. Thanks for showing me how to do this. What fun. Larry in Arizona
Enjoyed the entire video. Your sun visor looks awesome. You never cease to amaze me with your talents and knowledge of metal working. Stay well and see ya next time.
My 55 olds delta had its visor mounted with a gap between the visor and roof that way the air off the windshield could flow over the roof. It also helped the wipers work better.
gettin done Bob,you truely are a master of making anything you want and making it work,it,s called creative genius and damn if you aint got it in spades, stay safe bro and keep on gettin it,precite ya
Hey Bawb That sun viser makes a world of differance in the look of that truck ! I believe had I been building it I would have left some space between the viser and the cab top so it is not traping air as you fly down the road. You can still work in some airflow iffin ya have a mind to. Nice job Bawb, Thanx fur lettin us look over ya sholder. Be Safe and Well
Bob that visor turned out fantastic, the side pieces and round rod made it, it's brand new old, ha ha, if you offered that countersink punch for sale i would buy one, that is sweet
@@RatRodBobBuilds You are a handy guy , I have the Fulton visor on my 53 truck, I think it makes the truck, though about making one for the 55 truck, but then again I better not mess with it for now😆
Great job building the visor Bob i was thinking about adding round rod b4 you added it and then you did it . i used that ospho on a really rusty 50 chevy fleetline i am building for a customer , after watching you use it on Charlotte . your bare metal paint how to on Charlotte was the first one of your videos that i watched .. i watched all your videos after seeing that one . you do great work and you got me working on my projects just about every day now . the newest car i have is a1960 , the newest truck is a 97.
Hey Bob I started using that “Rust preventer stuff” like you are using, I got some spilt/splattered on my concrete floor, it sure bleaches out the floor.
I hear ya! I do the same thing sometimes when I use it ... get some on the floor that is ... makes really nice white spots. By the way, muriatic acid will clean concrete too!
Hey there Bob, another great video. The visor looks great. I watch you work and get a different idea on how to accomplish the details my projects, thanks
Visor looks bang on good Bob 👌 you may have to add washers under or louvers to allow for wind exhaust to escape.. Most truckers almost lay them flat with the windshield to prevent wind vibration & noise... Looks good guess we'll have to see 👍
Next video is the antique look paint on this cab ... watch for it!
Wife and I are sure liking the way the truck is turning out!
You have showed me more about metal fabrication than any channel I’ve watched. Thanks Bob!
Lookin’ good Bob. Maybe quarter inch round re-bar on the edge of the sun visor would look good with the stitches!
Another fine example of craftsmanship, you are truly a metal artist, Bob. Stay safe my friend. Thanks for the vid and the knowledge.
Thanks brother for hanging with me thru thick and thin. Folks like you are my inspiration!
Thanks Bob, I'm digging it!
I'm about to tackle a sun visor on my own project truck, you gave me some great ideas.
The sun visor looks great. Realy dresses her up.
These are the videos I like, longer and lots of details... the way ya did when I first found ya 👍😎
Awesome, thank you!
School was a blast ! Rat Rod sun visor Nice lines easy looking on the eyeballs Kool Thanks for sharing Rot Rod Bob Some fine work .
I like your countersinking tool. Great job on the visor!
A true Rat Rod artist love the way you work and the results! keep on keeping on!
Even though it's a rat rod, i like that you still pay attention to the little deatails, like the curve in the visor.
Love the channel RRB.
Love it cooks like an OEM installation even the slotted screws - superb retro fit.

Thanks Frank for that sub ... means a lot. At my age it's too hot to even get out the house. LOL. Heat waves happen every year ... it'll pass.

You are an artist, I enjoy your video's inspired me with my 1929 model a tudor
Great job, its just a Rat Rod 🤯. 🇫🇮🇺🇸
a little round rod perimeter will keep it from floppin' round on the wind. so you don't look like the flying nun!
I was going to say the same thing!
Just like the corners
You mentioned the flying nun. It dates you and me. Sally Fields
Ha haa ... good one!
I used 1/4 round in the front of mine, and 1x1/8 flat in the back. It twitches at 60 mph.
