- Comparison of Borla Atak Catback and Corsa Extreme Catback on a 2018 and 2020 Camaro SS 1le.
Full Accel drive off, startup, idle, revs. Personally for the price and functionality and sound I would still stick with my Borla Atak. BUT Corsa has nicer tips. Respect to both systems and companies as they produce amazing products.

For the record I actually prefer the borla for sound and cost. Corsa for tips.

Thank you so much for doing this man. I just got a 2021 Camaro ZL1. I'm going to get an axleback but with NPP. I'm was looking at both the Corsa Extreme and Borla Atak!!! I know Corsa NPP is on backorder for a good bit maybe 3 or 4 months out.
But I think I'm going going to go with the Atak NPP with the ceramic black tips. BORLA 11925CB
I'd suggest the borla. I really like the sound and they just work. Corsas prices are insane tbh. Wish I had got the gloss black tips too. Maybe next time haha

Yes Npp and yes it does. The closed valves take out a lot of the bass and puts it about stock level sounding. Inside the car closed valves is really quiet on the freeway. Like you can't even hear the engine

Ya honestly man they almost sound the same lol. Thank you! It's just a GoPro 7 with a rode mic. Record in 2k 60fps max iso 1600 and sharpness medium on linear view. The rest is stock settings. I'm shamefully using shotcut still for editing 😅. I almost never do video filters or enhancements. I actually have been wanting to up my quality so I really do appreciate it. ❤️🙏
@@Hot-1LE I haven't heard of shotcut. I went down the rabbit hole of color correcting my MTB videos with Davinci Resolve. I'm not sure I'd use it for moto vlogs but it is really useful for the high contrast lighting I see on the trail.
Ya know I looked into divinci. I used light works for a bit but ended up back to shotcut. Appreciate the info man maybe I'll look back to divinci, always looking to improve the process.

I have a 2014 2SS 1LE.. I just ordered BORLA catback exhaust.. I’m waiting to see the difference. On Wednesday .. I hope it sounds louder. And more poppy
yea i have the Borla-ATAK carbon tips and love it. expensive but worth every penny!
@Hot 1le Did you notice any performance difference good or bad with the Borla catback? I have the Atak Axle back on my 18 2SS. Love the tone. The Axle back is also 2.75" pipe vs the 3" on the cat back.
Pretty sure borlas catback is 2.75 they might have a 3in option. Honestly no difference power wise. The stock catback is fine but may want to change it if when you start modding or adding headers.
14 1SS here. I’ve been wanting Corsa for the longest time just because I love Corsa. But I’m not sure which to choose from. I just like my burbles and pops. For now it’s just straight piped

Just bought a Borla Atak axle-back with the npp valves and then the Borla X-pipe with the AFM valves connection to complete the cat-back. Borla recommended this setup for me since my car is an automatic, something about the AFM stuff. Anyway keep up the great content, can’t wait to get exhaust installed!

No. Corsa is bot Borla. I would never purchase anything but a borla atak car system. It’s on my 18 ss and it stands o it. Corsa sounds no where near as good

I just picked up a npp borla atak set up used never installed for $1200 since my neighbor wants to start reporting us since she knows the 4th is coming and she thinks my car is gone😂 it’s at the shop getting upgraded axles(broke one), diff lockout and line lock. Wait till it comes back with this bad boy and the headers it’s been had. This vid definitely makes me feel like I made the right choice

I had a Borla on my 10th gen civic Si coupe and I loved it but it blew a hole in the mid pipe lmao I’m so conflicted on getting another for my SS
Borla atak is not as loud but sounds WAAY better... had the Atak on my challenger RT and loved it!
I have been undecided what to put on my 2022 ZL1, Corsa or Borla. After watching your video I like the sound of the Borla better and I bet you can hear the supercharger wine a bit better with the Borla too.

Appreciate it bro. An exhaust shop that was totally incompetent. I'm going to pull the catback out and out the stock back in they did that bad. Axle backs staying might remove some cats.

I have the ataks on my 5.0 and man they sound great, so I know on that 6.2 the ataks are the way to go.

Pretty easy. Ask around on the forums or Facebook groups for camaros in your area
I'm ordering my camaro and idk if I want the two mode exhaust or after market.. I currently have a 1le on order but I got told after waiting 2 months, I can no longer get a 1le.. I'm 16th in line still and if I don't get a VIN before they close out then I may not get my car 😢..so now I'm going to put a regular 2ss on order.. I really want those burbles and you said they come with the factory tune correct? So I would not need the factory exhaust to get that right?
They both pop but NPP flows a little better so a little more a bit louder etc.

I am at $3k less than a 1le and all I added was the gen2 splitter/rockers and NPP exhaust... its stuff I can live without like the Recaro seats, mag suspension, eDiff... but for that small percentage more money, I wish I could get them with the 1LE.. Im not ready for these cars to go away 😭😭 its finally hitting me that this is it..

Did you originally just have the axleback? If so how much louder did the mid/x pipe make it from borla.
Yes originally had the axleback then added the catback portion. It made it maybe another 10 percent louder. Not too much but it deepens the tone.

I had the xtreme and got the Atak bc the corsa sounded good but didn't have the crackle and wasn't even close to being as loud. BUT...... The atak is impossible to be quite with. If you wanna be inconspicuous sometimes go with the corsa.
Really? My borla is quiet when cruising or just moving around at lower rpm. I did keep the npp valve version though. I do think I remember the corsa idling a little quieter but haven't been on the freeway in the corsa.
@@Hot-1LE do you have headers and the full system or just axleback? The corsa is almost identical in sound until around 4000rpm. Then the borla has alot more crackle and sounds more like a drag or race car. The corsa has a very clean ballenced sound and dialed in very well. So when your at higher RPM it's a more controlled sound. Where the borla sounds like it's straight piped at a higher rpm or something. I'm not doing a very good job of describing it. The Borla blats with more time in between the crackle and the corsa is more of a steady sound.
@@Hot-1LE and the video dosent do the borla justice. The Borlas exhaust note is a louder crackle that's so loud the cameras mic actually cuts out.
Ya man I use good Microphones too and it's hard to capture the true sounds of it but it does sound a lot better played back on good speakers. That's good info about the corsa vs borla thanks man I didint know all that. I definately need more comparison but only had the time that I did. We completely forgot the flybys lmao. Oh my system is the catback. The corsa is extreme with secondary cats removed.

Will the pops and crackles go away if you changed the entire cat system (ATAK)?
Nope it usually makes it more noticeable. This of course depends on the setup you choose, year of your car and any tuning/e85. But on a otherwise stock car it'll just make them occur more often and be more noticeable
Can you get the 19-20 exhaust tune to get the burble/crackle for the 16-18?

I just bought the atak for my 15 1LE i must say not what i expected. I think the stock ones are louder honestly! I was told they get louder after you burn the layer of carbon inside the pipes. Idk i shoulda just bought headers instead 🤦♂️
Ya it does get deeper/louder with carbon build up. The atak are louder for sure not by a huge amount. At first it'll sound kinda tinny and raspy. If it's pure noise increase you want from here either remove the secondary cats, or go headers.
Im old, and my eyes seen the tips about the same. your Bolra sounded better in my opinion....I have the cat back kit in my Mustang's trunk, to be installed tomorrow....they have a slight different sound, but similar depending on add ons.
To be honest I like the borla sound as well. I haven't heard anyone drive off in my car yet 😅 you will LOVE them. I had s-types on my GT. The borlas tips are rolled, where corsas aren't and have a sharper angle on the tip

Depends on the place usually 200-400. It won't void your warranty since it's after the 02 sensor. Does open it up a bit. No real HP gains but definitely louder

Yooo I’m getting a 2ss in summer, if I want this exact sound (the yellow Camaro) I know I have to get the corsa extreme catback exhaust with secondary cat delete
I had one question, do i have to remove the mufflers and resonators first and then put the corsa on and delete the secondary cat or do I just leave the mufflers and resonators on?
Just depends how you want to do it. If you can find the corsa catback that removes the secondary cats (they stopped making that in 2020 so find used) you can just unbolt from those cats and remove the whole thing. Cutting makes it easier to get the mufflers out but not required can do it all in one go.

@yuvrajtoor5643 you can do it however you want. Remove the secondary cats first and leave stock mufflers. Or remove mufflers and put the corsa mufflers on. Either way

Tbh the lt1 engine is raspy no matter what you put on it. Atak will enhance that and style will be less. I actually thought Corsa was a little more raspy since it has the secondary cats removed. But idk really just get what sounds good to you haha
Corsa is meant for the 5th and 6th gens. Bail the cats and slide a big cam in there. Nothing, i promise you, will sound better

It's going to be very hard to find the Corsa that deleted the secondary cats. All the new ones cut the pipes after the cats now. No tune required. Since your an auto you'll need the afm delete
