I heard one guy say that Tell Mama was different from other Savoy Brown songs. I have to agree, I had Street Corner Talking and this is the only song I remember from it, and of course I heard TM on the radio. Maybe my favorite rock song of all time, but does anyone else think the high inro on the album is a little out of tune, too?
Man, I dug these guys back when they were starting out. I had all their LPS but they never seemed to catch on with the rest of the young people I was hanging with. Probably too bluesy for them, but I wish the band the best.
Beyond the fretboard, going way back . One heck of an under-rated band
Excellent slide work on that Les Paul.
One of the BEST guitarists ever! Heard the original of "Tell Mama" on the Blues Deluxe radio show, recently.
Kim Simmonds still kicks ass in electric blues !
a forgotten group that could play some serious blues.
I ain't forgot them.
I've always loved savoy brown
Gotta have a singer that can sing.
Great old band!!!!!

The singer is Kim Simmonds, I believe....
exellent
All he needs is Dave Walker
Singer/sax player is missing....
Voice is a little weak now, but the guitar work is still 110%!
Kim didn't sing lead on this track - on the original recording or decades of live versions. It's cool to see him sing lead here.
where is the singer?
At the sewing machine factory
not the same without high harmony
