Kim Simmonds one of the most underated guitar players ever... you cant beat him, I've followed his music and career for many years.. and he can bring down a house.... I love you Kim.... xoxo
I agree with MrAttPatt....LOVE the version of L Blues on the Greatest Hits Live album...it positively smokes. I think it is one of the finest showcases for Kim's blazing fretwork on any SB cut.
Famous Dave's where I shot the one I posted a couple years later.

Owned every record these fuckers put out back in the day.....Lonesome Dave was the best vocalist, but ya...this Kim Simmons can play the guitar mighty fine..
What he means is they were at the peak while Youlden was in the band. Thats a fact! 'Lonesome Dave' sang it on the record because arrangements had already been made to record that nights show. Nobody bargained for Youlden being ill that night! Peveretts voice has zero character! His vocal is awful compared to the way Youlden sang it! There are bootlegs that testify to this. Besides, I saw them in the Tent at the NJF Festival in August '67 and they played it. And How!
Jimmie Rock: Are you saying it was all down to the brilliance of their guitar players? Listen, why do you think pretty soon after Youlden left, the rest of the band left too???? Because of Simmons and the way he and his Dad ran the band. If it wasn't about the singer, why is it that they peaked with Youlden?

Savoy Brown (Kim Simmonds RIP 🙏💜) one of the best ever!
Fantastic one of the best performances ihave ever heard.
Got to hear them at Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, and Kim autographed my guitar after, yes, they are that good.

It’s great to c Savoy live as their are not many videos live of one of the best men to play the guitbox
That's a Muddy Waters song and his picture is right up there behind the stage on the wall to his right.
DE LAS MEJORES BANDAS QUE HE ESCUCHADO A LO LARGO DE MI VIDA, KIM SIMMONDS SIGUE EN LA RUTA MANTENIENDO EL LEGADO DE LOS SAVOY BROWN

No one else has ever gotten his sound.
Jay Syvester: There's reason for that. He doesn't have a sound!

Is it fuck! This is rubbish! Can't you tell the difference?
MrKenlv57: Only in format! It's a 12 bar. That's the only connection.

Lonesome Dave? You mean Chris Youlden!
its obvious u never saw them in those days
Alan Hobbs: I saw them plenty of times 'in those days'! This is some sad old crap. But hey, what else is he gonna do? Drive a van?
still good but they were at their best when chris youlden was with them 50 years ago.what a voice
Like Savoy Brown was ever about the vocalist....LOL
Lonesome Dave sang it on the record anyway.

This is dismal. Learn to recognise it. There's a lot of it about! You said, What do you mean? I am just curious

This version is in E, which suits better I think. The original one is in G.
Try in in F#. It gives it an edge!
I hate people, especially ones who whistle during a great guitar solo-Go Kim Go!
play louder than those rudes.
...euh..tempo pas très en place en intro solo...
Ilmo Smokehouse did it better, in 71, but who can argue with the great Kim Simmonds!
this is just SAD
Why? why is it sad? Are YOU sad that you can't do this?
stinks.....
??
