This world is overpopulated as is, and if the current generation is, do not learn from their own mistakes, and the mistakes of their predecessors, Then we should not be repopulating as much, or just pretend we've gone sterile, it's best not to bring new life into this world where there are more issues to deal with and adding more mouths to feed will only enhance that. The cost of living and the cost of even having a kid these days is rising, it's hard to afford, you might as well go broke at that point. I say it's best to let the population decline and the birth rate decline as well.

    • @nicksieben7701
      @nicksieben7701 27 днів тому

@Samuel-vw2wy You can blame the educational system across the USA for not pushing towards trade job education and blue collar opportunities, along with the wreckless spending of government funds, primarily for the US military bases and operations over seas.
We need to focus on our own country and also get our people in line. The constant complaining and weakness of the focus groups, social justice "warriors," cancel culture groups, liberals, and other flawed idealists and groups are also to blame.
Perhaps that's the wake up call the USA, along with other countries need to get their people to properly WAKE UP, stop with the stubbornness, lies, selfishness, lack of awareness and coherence, greed and complete idiocy that has been plaguing society.
If the failures and depletions of our society doesn't help to educate and properly motivate our citizens to take action that benefits all and ensures our country's future well being, then we're doomed to fall hard and possibly die off. If this happens, so be it, humanity can be seen as an infectious cancer anyways.

But if she spends her time and energy on having and raising a child, what can she get? Is there financial compensation? No. Can she get respect from people around her? No one has realized the problem is simple: seniority. Once you educate women they get into careers. Have a child, though, and in almost all countries, your job goes poof. Your accumulated seniority? Gone. Here in Canada I observe a mini baby boom among the one group that does keep their job and their career: teachers. If Japan or Korea want to fix birth rates they have to mandate companies to guarantee the jobs and seniority of women who leave to have children. Nothing they are currently doing will work.

The only people worried about population decline are the people hoarding money. The wealthy thrive off the working population. They would rather do everything to fix this "problem" except adjust their business structures or policies to include the working people in on the profits they produce. Children are expensive. They like to target the education of women as the problem when it's so much more than that. Most families cannot live off the income of one parent. Women have no choice but to work. The best way to reform it is to pay people based upon how many children they created, who are currently paying into the system. I’m 34 with three kids so far, and several of my cousins are choosing to not have kids. They also have much higher incomes than I do because they’ve chosen to not directly invest in the next generation. You can see the unfairness of watching peers go on more vacations, retire earlier, AND get larger payouts from social security, right?

Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter, energy and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to "TRY" to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor. Why import fossil fuels when wind and solar energy can be produced locally and solar energy can power electric vehicles. We need solutions not just sympathy.

If governments worked to create a world that felt sustainable (wrangling matters of climate, technology, war and oppression, etc.), maybe people of child-bearing age would feel confident enough that there would be a worthy world left for their children to actually have them. Right now, it seems like a lot of those people aren't confident the world will last long enough for them to grow old much less to inspire bringing in a new generation. In the meantime, we need to recognize the current structure as the Ponzi scheme it is and find a new path forward...pronto!

Institute artificial wombs to produce babies. Lots of women die in childbirth and have other complications. Low sperm counts from endocrine disruptions and visa versa for women. Women raise the kids, loose their jobs, financial security , and do the bulk of housework , cooking, dr visits, school events, stay home with sick kids if working, and basically are doing two jobs. Why would a woman choose this? No affordable childcare, no baby care until child age 2, and limited social security due to lost work years while raising kids. People can’t even afford to support themselves at this given moment and it’s been like this for years. There’s lots of talk on this topic, but nothing is ever done. It all comes down to. It’s your duty to your government or your nation. Guilt tripping women . They even refuse to sterilize women but will readily do a vasectomy on a man. So you can see this entire picture is out of balance . People are not dating, having sex, nor getting married and these are young people from like age 20-30. There are multiple stats on this. Now they are refusing abortions to bring the population numbers up. The technology sector could do this if they are doing it with premature babies at this point . It’s an evolutionary biology issue. Women globally have shifted from indirect resource production through their husbands to direct resource production. Both men and women prioritize survival through accumulation of resources, and as long as women directed that through a man, families formed and children were born. The Industrial Revolution began decreasing the value of children to the male as children became net costs instead of net assets. Moving the male’s work to a factory in exchange for a paycheck eliminated the female’s ability to support the male’s resource production. That collapsed the value of the female in the coupling, which then in turn collapsed cooperative coupling between men and women, which then reduces birth rate. Women working is a response to the underlying issue. But the headline here is this: the human species may not reproduce when the male and the female are both individually pursuing resource production instead of the female indirectly pursing through the male. It’s an evolutionary biology issue. The female has never in the history of humanity sought and achieved direct resource production as they are doing today, and as a result, cooperative coupling is collapsing. We can’t fix it.

If there is woman who has 8 kids, and 3 people who have none, when the 4 retire they each will take their share of the payroll taxes of the now adult children which maybe is 20% each (so 20% x 8 is 160%/4 is 40% of current wages paid as retirement). The mother who did the work should get 160%.. . .. . I admit everyone pays property taxes for schools and families do get some tax breaks, but its the $100,000 a year of unpaid labor of wiping butts and yelling at kids that is the main contribution the parent makes. We should say childless people do not get social security and medicare. Anything else is robbing from parents.

    • @RedFishBlueFish-si9he

If you provide the economic benefits of childbearing to women, fewer men will marry. That is what is happening now. And if men don’t marry, fewer children get conceived and born. The fundamental problem is that children ceased being an economic benefit TO THE MALE of the species, and then as the female sought “partnership” model marriages, it further depressed the value of the female in the union TO THE MALE as the “partnership” model requires the male to shift from resource production to support of the female. That is the crux of the problem. There is no basis in human evolutionary history for the male supporting the female’s direct resource production. You can shift all sorts of public funds to women all you want, but that will not create any marriages. In fact, there is a ton of evidence that state handouts to women INCREASE divorce rates. Finland tracks this quite well. Paying women for their role in childcare would be a catastrophe as that would result in no additional children, while increasing divorces. The fundamental problem is that women shift to resource production when they are not able to rely on male resource production, and since the value of children collapsed, the male is disincentivized to cooperate. This puts women in a bad spot, having lost their ability to align their reproductive strategy with their resource strategy through the male, they are seeking to achieve it directly. And in doing so, marriages collapse as there is no incentive for males to marry.

@@RyanrobiWomen can’t just stop. They are switching to direct resource accumulation because the value of the children they create to the male has collapsed, and so the risk to them of the cooperative model is too high. Additionally, too many males are refusing to enter the deal since the bargain to them has historically been the children and the wife’s participating in his resource production, which no longer works. As a result, some women are attempting to create synthetic value through overt sexualization and others are switching to direct resource production (or using sexualization to create resources, unfortunately). We may be able to put social/cultural norms in place that push the female to prioritize the cooperative model, but we cannot solve for the underlying problem that the children and her labors are no longer additive to the male. Eventually, however, the institutions required to support female direct resource production will degrade and collapse as a result of female participation in them (see, e.g, the ongoing collapse of education), which will result in a massive imbalance.

Let’s imagine we will ban abortion and the education for women and change nothing else.
Will the men be happy to support women and all the children? Don’t see many young men dreaming of becoming a head and supporter of large family nowadays.
What’s in it for men apart from regular sex life, that women are unable to support themselves and cannot help with financially supporting the children.
Back in the feudal days women brought dowry’s and majority of the population lived rurally.
Birthrates are dropping not because of women’s access to education but because because majority of people live in big cities.
