He said it was the most peaceful and it was indeed, before the Hamas attack. Either Hamas + Iran were so good at hiding their plan, or the Israel + US intel were incompetent at that time. This is the problem with negative peace, that there's always something brewing under the surface.

The last time a war was fought on American territory, was the 1812 war. The US sits securely between 2 oceans, and is impossible to invade. The only way its "national security" can be threatened, is 1) if it does not defend the borders, or 2) by going out of its way to seek a great power confrontation, and getting its wish. 🚀 🚀 🚀 💥

Mr. Sullivan, you say an entrenched terrorist group with hundreds of miles of tunnels is a challenge and then there comes a "but" which slams Israel for the devastation. That's called cognitive dissonance. Israel is conducting a war with terrorists enmeshed in the population and it makes it nearly impossible to conduct a war without a lot of fallout and that is to be expected. I would ask those millions of civilian men to take some responsibility for helping to reject their leaders. Give them some credit for the destruction we see, not Israel.

    • @mowsefmow8177

i tend to give more credit to the civilized, western bulwark nation with a seemingly infinite number of bombs, which they've been using for two years to destroy the entirety of gaza and beyond. Of course it's a difficult issue, but if you actually believe Israel has done everything in its power to allow humanitarian aid to get to the people who need it most, you're delusional

Where else would Hamas fight from? lol where could they possibly go where there isn’t people??? They have been imprisoned since 1991! In 1995 they put an electric fence and then a brick wall. In 2007 they built a better wall and getting a permit to leave was nearly impossible. Except permits for cheap labor to build illegal settlements. An entire generation who’s never left, seen a train, an airport, a football stadium, fished beyond the “get shot barrier”where no fish would ever be(I’m a fisherman it’s a sandbar out there), they’ve never travelled anywhere and had gotten lost and stumbled upon that nova festival. You sir helped Netanyahu make OUR country, Jews, and Muslims, less safe, and ashamed.

The analysis of Jake Sullivan presented here is, regrettably, disappointing in its naivety. The metaphor employed, comparing a hypothetical American attack on Canada in which the U.S. military would become bogged down in Manitoba, is an inadequate and flawed means of illustrating the complexities of Russia’s war in Ukraine. This analogy neglects the geographical reality that Ukraine lies at the crossroads of Europe, while Canada's border extends into the Arctic. Furthermore, it fails to address the strategic significance of NATO and the looming specter of nuclear conflict.
Sullivan’s argument regarding China's potential alignment with the "axis of evil"-encompassing Russia, Iran, and North Korea-versus its position among America’s allies is particularly misguided. This simplistic dichotomy overlooks the intricate and multifaceted geopolitical and geoeconomic considerations that drive China's foreign policy. In doing so, it fails to grasp the broader context of America’s own obligations, especially in defending Taiwan.
Moreover, Sullivan's diplomatic failures, particularly his inability to negotiate with Netanyahu for the release of hostages in Gaza, are conspicuously omitted. His handling of such critical issues has, regrettably, left American foreign policy in a precarious and diminished state.

Ukraine is not Canada and Crimea is not Ottawa. There is much more strategic purpose in Putin having its warships and airfields in Crimea and along the "former" Ukrainian Black Sea to threaten the EU. Also, a lot of minerals and industrial potential in the occupied Donbass region. Not even close to Ottawa geopolitically.

Great Britain Empire fall occurred when the Moral compass was lost and depended solely on mass injustices and stick & stone policy.
US Empire is re-taking the Great Britain role today.
Russia & China will emerge, the same way, it emerged during European Colonialism era as Liberators and Champions of the new Decolonization era, coming from a higher Moral grounds than the colonial genocide US-Israel.
US would not be able to keep her dictators for long and future young democracies will side with their Liberator, Russia and China.
Let us recall some stats here:
    - Assad killed 20K civilians.
    - US's Biden-Bibi killed 45K civilians, starved 2M population & 50 year of breaking UN, ongoing colonialism & continues International Law breaches.
Who's the butcher and the moral here? how dare he speak in straight face!
Remember, Jimmy Carter got even the H-group to accept 2-state solution, but Israel never accepted the UN's 2-state resolution & US has been vetoing UNSC. Remember, US deliberately trigger wars, even when Egypt offered 1971 Peace before hand (although you don't need to offer peace to request an end of illegal colonialism), US SOLELY vetoed UN 1972 to trigger the liberation war 1973 deliberately.
    Translating actions into words: Thus,
    US supports Israeli Colonialism.
    US supports ongoing Ethnic Cleansing.
No Eisenhower balls to sanction Israel ever again.
US needs to look in the mirror and see Great Britain falling after losing the moral compass.
As a wise Eisenhower once said: "A people that values its privileges above its principles, soon loses both."
