This guy has the perfect voice for voice-overs!
Why thank you :)
I have the iFi Hip Dac. Bass is headphone dependent. Bass extension helps with some music. Battery wears down quickly. You have to use the larger balanced port or it won’t sound as good. A good cable like Cardas helps too. I’m using Sony Bluetooth XM5s which have option to hardwire. There are better BT phones - Sony’s noise cancellation is tops. Like to try the Hip Dac on the levinson 5909s. If I were listening at home, I’d be using sennheiser 660 S2. They’re good.
I can testify what you stated on the original signature video
About being a perfect match for the aryas
Thank you so much for the recommendation.
I'm assuming these would have sufficient power for my hifiman edition xs headphones as well?
The ifi signature is obviously three times more expensive.
I'm assuming that between the GoBar and hip dac 2, the hip dac would be better for my particular situation, because the GoBar doesn't have it's own battery.
Keep in mind, my headphones are the hifiman edition xs, and require power.
What about Hip Dac 2 vs Go Blu?
@@joshchacko7729
Both should be fine
@@bradhuskers Dude, just found a new gem - Earmen Colibri. I'm using the Hifiman HE-R9 modded by JM, what do you think?
I am using Xbass plus EQ, no other way around if I want to feel the bass instead of hear it only:)
Every other reviewer seems to be afraid to compare the 2
Great video as usual pal. The real question is can it be justified for purchase if you have the ORIGINAL hip DAC?
If you need the extra power, if you want the different ports, and if you want a different representation of xbass, yeah
@@chuckolatte600
Looks like you recommend the hip dac 2. Over the GoBar, if I have the hifiman edition xs?
So the signature sounds alot better?
Definitely, depending on your headphone of choice matters if it's worth it though.
What da hell 😳
I had to listen to the o'clock part 12 times.
Just my silly ass 🤪 humor
Great review
I know the more ex Signature would definitely be a league above the HipDac2 but would you say its "just as good" especially in its XBass performance? (I have the Signature but it's size - and thick blue cable - is a little cumbersome when I'm casual listening on the go). Would u say the HipDac2's (XBass) bass slam is as satisfying as the Signature's?
Signature is a bit higher quality bass boost but the hip dac has a BIG bass boost like you really have a much bigger bass boost on hip dac big ol thump.
@@soraflame66I got one and its true it has a very strong bass boost, not as good as the Signature's but strangely better than the bass boost on the Gryphon.

I have the hifiman edition xs headphones, used primarily with my samsung galaxy ultra 22 smartphone.
So between the ifi hip dac 2 or the GoBar, which is the better choice for my situation?
The hip dac has it's own battery, while the GoBar I believe, doesn't.
Hey, long time sub here. I was wondering if you could review the ps5 headphones. They claim they are engineered to render 3d sound "as intended" for games. Or are they just regular headphones?
Good question...haven't heard the pulse HPs yet but idk
How is the Hip Dac 2 with closed backed headphones? I'm thinking of pairing this with the JM modded HE-R9 by Hifiman.
Question.
Can I connect with the USB port and enjoy my music, while simultaneously charging it thru the other USB c port?
could you do redo this review with your hands tired behind your back? Your continuous hand movements made me seasick!
im newbie whats the best stack of that ifi dac for headphone and bookshelf speaker?
I have a ifi hip dac 2 for edition xs. If i want to upgrade my headphones to arya v3, will the hip dac 2 power it fine? Or will i also need to invest more in a more powerful amp?
Edit: I run out of the balanced output
Omg what mic for the 560s is that?? I've been trying to find a 2.4 mm mic for my 560s but they all have awfull reviews on Amazon can't seem to find a good one :(
It's the Ablet mic for the HD5xx series. Here ya go: amzn.to/3R35AzH
Liked subd and commented
The finish of these aren’t great at all, the metal case chips and marks far to easily. If there’s the tiniest bit of grit on any surface you place it on, it will scratch it and man does does it stand out. Very disappointing. I guess Ifi want you splash out the extra $50 on their fabric case, which from what I’ve seen also doesn’t last very long. I’d rather they were made from a durable plastic.
Here's my situation.
My headphones are the hifiman edition xs, which need power. I listen thru my samsung galaxy ultra 22 smartphone.
The ifi go bar has no battery, and would drain my smartphone more.
The hip dac 2 does have it's own battery.
Which one would be better for my particular application?
You have already answered the question yourself. Stand-alone battery, i.e. the HIP DAC or another solution with an external battery.
But the XS isn't particularly power hungry. Smartphones can't drive any serious headphone properly, that's just the problem.
LG is an exception with their devices. Unfortunately they have withdrawn from the market.
@@joggometer5393
What do you mean smartphones can't drive any headphones properly?
With the hip dac 2 connected to my smartphone, it should be no problem.
You probably meant the phone by itself?
Exactly.
Mmm, not quite sure tbh. Haven't heard the Go Bar yet (though probably very soon). Not sure I like the idea of it sapping power from your smartphone though.
I just wish I could use it with iPhone without a lot of dongles lol
You can. Just use the old usb➡️Lightning cable
@@ernestoditerribile No, you have to use a lightning to USB adapter, which then plugs in to another usb male to female adapter. That’s two adapters just to connect it the hip Dac.
You only need one dongle and it’s the Camera Kit
@@sundayparam that’s why iPhones go well with ifi and audio quest dacs. Lugging around my mojo 2 with the camera adaptor just plain sucks.
I thought you were black in the other video but now I don't know 🤔
So unnecessary
