I don’t have a Kalan. But i own BR540 and Instant crush. I don’t see a lot of relation between these two. BR is airy. I can wear it during the summer. IC is warm, more sweet. It’s definitelly better for the colder months. Also in terms of projection, IC is a 1000% winner. I love both. But I think, IC is my new favourite.
I own 2 of the 3. MFK. 540 smells nice but gives me a headache after awhile. Instant crush is softer and tolerable with no headache. Kalan instantly made me sick. I’d rather wear nothing then Kalan which is upsetting because I love the house. Personally i prefer Instant Crush to the original 540 rouge. The ambergris note in mfk540 does bring me alot of ambroxan vibe which im not a fan of, i need to try Kalan tho, it sounds interesting

I have both the B 540 and the Kalan and I totally don't see any relation between the two... the B 540 is a great scent no doubt about that but the Kalan is a totally different universe... Totally agree with you on these three. I’ve sampled all. With Instant Crush I only get the similarity in the opening, Kalan smells latex gloves on my skin and with how strong it is that’s not pleasant. Definitely go for the original.
Daver, I disagree on performance of BR540. It has incredible projection/sillage. The forums are divided on its performance but I'm in the beast mode camp for sure. Can't speak on Kalan,but Instant Crush was a total let down for me. Nice enough opening, not the quality of BR540 but the mid and drydown are so completely boring to me. BR540 is way ahead overall imho. Great video!
It really depends on your skin. On my skin Baccarat Rouge does not last nor project at all. I'm very disappointed because I love the scent and I feel like I wasted my money.

Most people in the comments seem to hate Kalan, but imo Kalan's one of the best things I've ever smelled. You rly need a developed olfactory palate to fully appreciate it, because it just smells like a muddy mess to most people who aren't used to it.

$300 for 2.5 oz , is the EDP formulation of BR540. The extrait imo is the better version and is $425 for 2.5 oz. that’s the pill you really have to swallow. But worth if you love.

Not tried Kalan but BR540 is my new favourite frag and I was intrigued to try instant crush and was soooo disappointed, should be called instant headache, it's the first frag I've ever washed off lol, that heavy ginger mixed with the florals left me feeling nauseous and the stuffs so nuclear it gave me a headache, the whole time I was thinking why does this get compared to BR540 which is so interesting and transparent.
I got a sample of kalan, a sample of 540 and a bottle of sunset in heaven. 540 is amazing, I love my sunset in heaven. I immediately didn’t like Kalan. To me I love the look of the bottle but that scent never grew on me.. just my opinion
I prefer baccarat rouge over kalan but: I do not see kalan being any way a clone or associated with BR 540. Maybe for 5 minutes? After that kalan is far more spicy, masculine, even earthy than BR 540 ever thought of being. I feel Kalan falls into that noir anthracite lane where you either love or hate it. It is very very masculine, no cotton candy unisex vibe to me anyways. I cannot speak on instant crush. Good video though as always.

I bought Kalan because I'm a Marly fan and Crush because I thought it would be a great flanker for 540 which I love. I had to get rid of Kalan and Crush because I hated them so much. They take the sexiness of 540 and both seem to add dirty, skank, and animalic killing everything that make 540 great. Both of these fragrances also had great reviews but the problem with reviewers is that they review so many fragrances they don't have a chance to really live with them for a while. When I first sniffed Kalan and Crush I liked them but it took a few days of wearing before I started hating them. They are awful.

I have instant crush too and it's gorgeous and has been working wonders for me.

Kalan is pure pepper and something sour on skin. BR540 is chemical af with some plastic notes in there. BR540 Extrait however, is something else. Bitter almond at its best. I don't see how those three could ever be in a same category since they are all completely different fragrances. Bin Weezy I have the regular EDP. At first I thought it was weak but 12 hours later I would still get whiffs of it. Then I noticed when my wife wore it, I could smell it projecting off her like crazy with only 2 sprays. It’s a tricky scent but believe me, other people can smell it on you.
well, there are plenty of fragrances reviewers will review even though they weren't free. Also, they have worked with reviewers before--me for instance. I think in general the reason why Bond doesn't get much love on UA-cam is just that their brand isn't as popular as it was 5 years ago.
I have both... they don't smell alike at all not even close. Oud for Greatness smells like a pure soft Cambodi Oud while B540 smells like TK No. 4 in my opinion.

I have both... they don't smell alike at all not even close. Oud for Greatness smells like a pure soft Cambodi Oud while B540 smells like TK No. 4 in my opinion.
