- Here's everything we know so far about Alaska Airlines flight 1282 that had to make an emergency landing when a defective door plug of the aircraft ripped off in flight. The Boeing 737 Max has been under public scrutiny for several years following multiple crashes and malfunctions. ABC News Senior Reporter Emmanuelle Saliba has more.

I used to work for Boeing. As soon as I pointed out the SAFETY Flaws (many), I was let go. They even told me "Don't Be So Neat Picking" and asked me to revise the document. IF I was asked to testify in the Congress, I would. Lack of Leadership at Boeing. There are so many Managers .. a Manager has his manager and his manager has another manager to report to. 3 freaking steps to report to 3 different managers. Red Tapes at Boeing !!
Just shows how incompetent Boeing is they fire instead of resolving the issues.
Also explains why the 777X had so many delays because of all the problems Boeing failing to fix pretty much they rush all the planes for profit as they panic when they see how competitive Airbus is.
@@randy1189 I feel like Alaska should have kept their older Airbus a320-200 and the new a321neo the new 737 max is a disaster only the older 737-800 is good
Ya ok 😂 I can prove your lying! Maybe use a vpn so I can’t find ur fb 🤡… now I will forward ur info to Boeing so their lawyers can contact you for spreading false information
@@exposenetworklimited4497right. Like an ex employee would come to UA-cam to file a complaint. 🤣
What "flaws" might those have been?
Now imagine how many missing bolts and problems the 777x has.
8 were confirmed to have same issue.
wow, that iphone and its case don't have any stretches even though it fell from 10,000 feet+ above the ground. Impressive!
Yep and sometimes people drop them off the couch onto the carpet and the screen cracks. Sooo many factors, but in this case I guess it just bounced on the grass and maybe landed on its back side which spreads impact over a larger surface area.
What puzzles me is how the finder managed to access the phone? Even in airplane mode surely by default the phone will auto lock after a while and require pin/biometric to access?
Boeing is the sound you make when your plane falls from the sky.
lol 😂😂
That was the premise of an old Mad Magazine cartoon. Lol!
Door plugs are just like butt plugs, all fun and games until too much pressure builds up! 😬
😆
You win the comment section🤣🤣🤣
I’m dead 😂 ☠️
LOL!!
Lol. Boeing said don't fly that thing over the ocean, it might not make it across. lol
I'm sure you know that what you've said isn't true, but for others who may be reading, it was Alaska Airlines who downgraded the aircraft from ETOPS status, not Boeing. Also, the only reason that water was mentioned is because Alaska Airlines only has ETOPS routes over water. There are some ETOPS routes that stay over land, but not in the part of the world were Air Alaska flies.
Can we please stop putting money above safety and health? :(
sadly that will never happen, money has made humanity evil and stupid. 😞
So why were the only seats empty to ones next to the panel, did the airline know something was wrong, or just coincidence.
Good thought…
Is DUCT TApE on the insulation and seal normal protocol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Max 8
Max 9
Max 10?
Max 11?
When will Boeing learn?
It wasn’t MIDAIR. The plane was only at 16,000’. Just after lift off.
Only? 😂
That makes sense. Had they been at a higher altitude, there would've been bodies flying out of that door.
That’s the definition of MIDAIR.
@@travisinthetrunk not even close
if they weren’t mid air... were they midground?? midspace??😭
THREE WORDS: SUE ALASKA AIRLINES!!!! I heard they offered these people $1500 and refunded plane tickets! For THAT traumatic experience!??? The NERVE!!! I'm sure a lawyer is on top of this case as I type.
4:47 “we found the door plug.” Really? How about instead, “The door plug was found. We appreciate who found it and let us know.” It seems she wanted to take credit for something she didn’t do.
Calm down
It is a miracle no one was sitting there. I ALWAYS find a window seat, and I'll change my seat multiple times to find one where I'm not sitting next to someone, if possible. I'm in disbelief.
Nothing new here. So it looks just like a journalism class project.
😒.. Redundant plug door also risk or dangerous...
🤨
I liked my own comment
I like your comment too
@@agentbb007 @laska907 I liked both of your comments..
claim emotional and psychological damage, big check
What is this trend of building newer planes ? we've flown B737 , B747 , B767 , Airbus A300 , A320 etc... for decades , they made their proof , there's just a few tweaks and hardware upgrades needed . But now ,whether it is Boeing or Airbus , they are building new planes with weird alloy that melts like ice when flames lick them , in addition to that, they put tons of electronics and unreliable sensors on their new planes , it is not a surprise if pilots get confused in the cockpit and crash their plane
That pilot was a GD boss!
NTSB “we dont know”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂how
I've only flown Alaska air 1 time
Wow. The iphone fell from more than 10000 ft and works just fine
3:47
Lol why
Those 737 Max's have been a curse from hell. Get rid of those damn things!
P.S. How was that guy able to unlock the iPhone? Did the owner not have a passcode?
I don't think he unlocked it
I live in AK lucky I was not on that plane
I can smell class action lawsuit!
Welp, I guess if it’s Boeing, I ain’t going.
lol, if you are reading the news this morning, check out the Airbus 319 that diverted to Tampa for door issues. If it flies, no matter who made it, at some point it will be broken.
@@Part_121but the door didn’t come off and there was a warning to pilots as well. Boeing no warning or anything, after their MCAS problem they can longer be trusted
@@meatballq6801 As far as I know, no one had officially provided the maintenance records for this aircraft's complete history since Alaska Airlines took delivery. Many airlines, I worked for 2 of them, take their brand new planes straight to a 3rd party maintenance company for modifications, before the plane makes its first revenue flight. Some of the larger airlines will park it on the ramp and do modifications themselves. This particular tail did not go into service for several days after delivery, so you can bet someone, other than Boeing, was doing some sort of work to it. The "auto-pressurization" warning lights don't necessarily mean anything. Most of the time they will get that light due to a faulty pressurization controller, of which there are 3. In all previous flights, when the auto-pressurization light came on, they were able to still pressurize the airplane and continue the flight, by having the FO control the pressure manually. A physical pressure leak should still leak, regardless of the pressurization controller doing the work, so, while the lights could be related to the door, no one would consider that when troubleshooting a brand new plane. This is why NTSB investigations take a year to complete. Nothing can be assumed.
No sir. You didn’t open up a random passenger’s phone and see confirmation that it was from the flight. You don’t have said random passenger’s passcode. Virtually nobody leaves their phone without some sort of unlock code. Media sensationalizing it and making people say things that aren’t true on camera. You also expect me to believe that a teen took a selfie with a random passenger in the middle of a crisis.
Which one would you prefer Boeing or Airbus?
I would prefer ABC didn’t use high school students to make their UA-cam videos but to each their
Airbus. No longer Boring!!
Fokker! ✈️
Airbus. It’s smoother, more quiet, and actually feels powerful
Meanwhile Alaska Airlines is fulfilling its quota of mincing sashaying ground crews
1 out of 4 bolts missing, it is quality issue. If 2 out of 4 bolts missing, maybe it is big quality issue. If ALL 4 bolts missing, it is a sabotage. If you understand airplane installation and parts distribution procedure, when the install worker with hand full of extra bolts, he didn't forget to installing it. I hope FBI involve in investigation. I don't believe repeated error and omittions. It is NOT hard at all to find who/the worker was responsible to install this door panel.
If you cannot find a single worker's sloppy work, or alleged sabotage with quality control, that is even worse.
No sir, there is no sabotage. Everyone knows that production is rushed to meet the targets because of stock value of the company.
"Our top priority is quality", my ass! Your top priority is profits.
Don't know why they are playing with the life of the people on this Boeing 737-900 series, i guess every time this long nose aircraft type is having some issues.:(
DEI comes first at Boeing!!!
Yeah blame women and minorities for an issue that is attributable to bad executive management from the McDonnell Douglas merger.
get a de-esser filter on this audio lmfao. SSSS SSSSSS SSSSSSSSSSS
Alaska Airlines. Again.
Lol
Made in malaysia😂😂
Boeing is unsafe
Dont play with our life ,I hafe already lost my abti on the flight crash in ethiopia, make sure and be thruth about what whe are flying with, this is bigger then taking a flight, 😢
This is why I don’t fly.
What is a lifetime of trauma worth? Everyone on that flight will suffer trauma every time the need to fly for business, Xmas, ect. For those whose business relies on flying they may end up loosing a high paying job because they simply cannot step onto anouther airplane without immense suffering and panic attacks.
Americans 😂😂
if Boeing.Max.isNewModel() and (Boeing.Max.hasSoldTo(AlaskaAirlines) or Boeing.Max.hasSoldTo(UnitedAirlines)):
Stocks.short(Boeing.Stock, ETA2Q)
This is why I don’t fly.
