- Episode two of Tommy's TOANE VAULT, coming in hot! In each episode, I will be talking about one of the righteous 80s guitars in my collection. This one is very, very near and dear to me, for reasons I get into during the course of the video.
Shout outs to Evan Gluck at NY Guitar Repair, Gabe Mera, and Pat Wilkins at Wilkins Guitars. VERY special shout out to Kyle Gaines!

Nice video! The union Jack explorer is the most amazing explorer in history @ least for me….🎉 i got one in mint condition…. @& indeed i read in a catalog many years ago that Gibson planned 159 back then , bit 50 were made…… I knew straight away that yours was a bit off… because i know meine very well, nevertheless….. excellent job mate! Good for you!
My brain goes def Leppard on that guitar too LoL 😂
Right??? Brains are weird. I still do it every time I look at it
@@tommyvonvoigt5240 Bassist Rick Savage rocked that design on some of his basses, so...
@@jonlvstad2861 I did not realize that. That’s cool!
The Union Jack I had back then had a nickle kahler trem and it had a rosewood fretboard. The frets were almost gone and the paint job was completely faded and didn’t look that great. This guitar you did is 10x better than that one would have been.
Thanks! Yeah, if I recall correctly, the one I had fallen in love with was also in pretty rough shape. The paint was cracking and flaking everywhere, and all the white was yellow
can u link the company that does the bridges i am looking for a bridge for my gibson sg
Sure, here you go!

I absolutely love these bridges and tailpieces. The locking studs / posts in particular
friday guitar=))))
Dude I know, I was literally laughing out loud when that happened. I'm not sure how much I actually believe in the Friday Guitar idea, but, it's still hilarious
