Two comments have resonated with me about diet and exercise. One from Michael Pollan: “Eat food, not too much, mostly plants” and the other from Dan John: “Reasonable diet, reasonable workout, most of the time”. Consistency is king. I’d also say preparation is key too. Remove choices from your day. Know what you’ll eat through the day and know what you’re going to do in the gym BEFORE you get there. As soon as you have to make choices, you’re introducing a chance you’ll make the wrong choice. Thanks for this great channel. This video will motivate a lot of people. Cheers.
People talk about “its important to have balance, you need to have fun” but to see real results it has to be a landslide towards the healthy side and consistent. Then cheat days are fine but by and large it’s changing from old you to new you. And those before and after shots are testimony that you walk the walk
Thanks, really appreciate it....I do notice that people go a little overboard on cheat days. They have cheat days once a week but also CHEAT other times in the week in drips and drabs....
Loved this vid. Whilst I started with an already slim build, I nevertheless decided to cut down my sugar intake one year ago. It's reassuring that what I'd decided for my diet is relatively similar to yours, especially drinking water when eating out. Looking forward to the follow up vids!
David, excellent video. I think a lot of people don’t get into fitness because they aren’t sure where to start, or are overwhelmed. Your video was easy to understand and straight forward. I look forward to your fitness videos to partner up with this nutrition video. Nicely done!
I've been on a plant-based/whole food diet for several years now, works great! A1Cs and LDL cholesterol both under control. Learned to drink black coffee, no sugar, on the bridge of a Navy warship!
Intermittent Fasting is AMAZING! I lost almost 10kg in 4 weeks! The first 4, 5 or 6 hours after waking up, i would only drink sparkling water and coffee, to blunt my hunger and stay hydrated. After those hours i would eat a apple and a banana. After an hour or so, i would eat something small, rice waffles, etc. Then eat my NORMAL diner. And then before i stop eating, i would eat a apple again with yogurt, or cheese quesadillas. I would always eat in a period of 6/7 hours a day. But do drink WATER! Plenty if you can, and do some sort of work out every day, if you cant go to the gym, like 30/60min. walking. Listen to some music or audiobook while walking helps
Goodness gracious. I just finished a re-watch of CR and felt compelled to come here. Your transformation is incredible. And it's not so much that you got into shape. But it just was the physical embodiment of self-respect.
Good video, a great way to track what you eat is, track what you eat. The apps these days can do most of the calculations for you, but when you don't write it down, it's easy to lose track of the day and what you are really eating.
Very good and we’ll informed vídeo. I actually have instituted some of the subsections you have described in my diet and daily routine. It’s not only about dressing and fashion to look good, but the right diet and lifestyle to feel excellently good.
Great vlog David! I found myself at the same place at age 51. I was out of shape, and had no muscle tone to speak of. I decided to spend the next two years developing muscle tone and really cleaning up my diet. I also started to utilize IF. about three months ago, to shed that little extra body fat. I am now 53 and hope to be around for my family for a number of years to come. It would be a great goal for fellow Bond fans to shoot; pun intended, to get in shape for Bond 25! There are enough months left before then, to really start to get in shape, no matter where you are, and that all starts with clean eating! Keep up the great work David! PS. I was originally inspired by your early Body by Bond vlogs!
Thanks so much for sharing! Totally agreeing that consistency is also key, besides being in a caloric deficit. Been on a weight loss journey since 2016 and slowly but surely lost about 70 lbs (35 kgs) and being consistent helped a lot. Also drinking enough water. Would be nice to be able to hit a healthy weight and fat content :-) when James Bond 25 is out in cinemas. Looking forward to the fitness related videos!
I love the challenge, David. Thank you! I'm 5'10 180lbs (from 235) and I need about another 10 lbs. to go. I think going to the doctors and getting a checkup can dial in what you need to work on like BP, cholesterol etc. I also routinely ask where my food comes from and try to eat as nutrient dense as possible. Tracking my food really helps me too. I use the Cronometer app for this. My Fitness Pal is good, but not as detailed. I've found the Blue Zone theory works for me, but everything goes sideways when I slack off on workouts. Consistency, like you said is key. It's simple, but not easy.
Have a lot of fun cooking nutritious things especially during the weekend. If you need a spinach break yeah kale is great. My closest friend said a whole chicken will beef ya up for certain. Cheers. Keto is tough but doable. Am trying to cut way back and use meditation to do it.
This is such a great content, separating the reality from Hollywood bond. Being healthy will really make you a living James Bond for a long time. Nice!
What a great transformation, this was a really good video David would be great to see u do a meal vlog on the types of meals u have. It can’t be ALL roast chicken haha
I really enjoy this and David's a good bloke but this is really a Daniel Craig James bond vlog which I enjoy but I'd love to see more of Sean Connery/roger moore and a little about bond girls ect (maybe I've missed loads as i only joined in June)
Nutrition wise I've cut out soda 100%, I allow myself one slice of rye bread with sugerfree jam a day, and no restrictions on eggs, meat, and vegetables. In four weeks I lost 18 pounds. I also exercise everyday of the week.
What does your weekly exercise look like? I’ve started cutting out soda too but have trouble with knowing what to eat after a workout. Calorie deficits confuse me
Glad you realized one must have an excellent naked body to look excellent in clothing. All the clothes don’t mean shit if one doesn’t have a good body.
Great video! I joined Noom because I wanted to avoid the "Goldfinger" body lol. Their recommendations are similar. Very sensible approach. I have kefir everyday with breakfast. Still can't shake the cereal habit, but I try to stick with low sugar cereals with at least 5 grams of fiber. Started trying the yogurt and figs meal, which I use as a mid day snack. Even ordered the heather honey from Fortnum and Mason, as mentioned in Anthony Horowitz's Forever and a Day.
I agree that supplements are not necessary and in my opinion are mostly a scam. That being said, most folks with an indoor job become deficient in vitamin d. A good d3 pill has been a game changer for me.
Ryan Frasor Agreed. Unless people are standing in the sun with their shirt off while drinking a pint of whole milk they’re probably not getting enough vitamin D.
Appreciate the no supplement comment. Came to that realization recently. Other than an occasional protein shake, nothing else is needed. Don't go down the path of creatine, mass gainer, etc. David, whats your thoughts on TRT/steroids in the current actor body? Seems many accuse the superheroes (Evans, Jackman) of getting a little extra help in their transformations. Obviously I would never consider it, but knowing they did makes you feel a bit better about having a "normal" fit body.
People have strong opinions either way, and actors must go to incredible lengths to get the hero body worthy of the camera..just for me, I need to keep it canister, syringe, and pill free.
I love the idea of setting myself the challenge of getting the Daniel Craig body by the revised release date in November 2020 of No Time to Die. Great video.
It took me over a year to get remotely close. It’s really hard. I’d get up at 5 AM everyday and I have to spend at least ten hours a week in the gym to maintain it.
I'm a bit late to this post but if you have to do at least 10hrs a week in the gym to maintain results, you are doing something wrong Source: I'm an ex pro bodybuilder

Don't forget the fiber! Protein is sexy and "today" but fiber is critically important to healthy gut biome and most Americans are sorely lacking in it. Fiber is helpful in weight loss, heart health, and keeping everything "going" (if ya know what I mean).

James Bond’s nutrition is just as important as his wardrobe.

I’m currently half way on my journey to being ‘fitter’ and found this video very inspiring: thanks David. Well done to you for putting the effort in.
