    What I particularly like about the teacher is how he uses the whiteboard and keeps it simple by focusing on specifics. Doesn't clutter the board with too much information. Clear precise and to the point. Excelente

    I wish this bloke had more videos up. I've found him one of the best teachers of Spanish on UA-cam. I didn't have the greatest of educations in early childhood and I didn't even know the function of a verb until I started learning a second language. I was overwhelmed by all the tenses and other grammar rules. When this bloke teaches about things like the preterite tense I understand first go round. When you try reading about what tense and when to use in explanations from textbooks or online, one can find them quite wordy and cumbersome, as if the writer is being pretentious. I believe in Keep It Simple Stupid! That works for me anyway :-) Seis Thumbs up out of cinco for these tutorials :-) No, I didn't get my numbers the wrong way around. I actually have seis thumbs ;-)

      My thoughts exactly. My spoken and written English is great as I'm a native English speaker. However, understanding terms and definitions of the English language is horrendous for me. I too didn't know what a verb was until I started learning Spanish. That's why I'm so grateful to Dr Danny Evans for these simple to understand, yet incredibly informative, videos.

    I'm guessing 'comprar' means 'to buy'. I giggled, my grandmother used to say "mangumpra sa ko", mangumpra is a shorten word for 'mang+kumpra'. Now I strongly believed Visayan (Native language in Davao City, Philippines) words are mostly derive from Spanish. I'm enjoying your videos so much sir. Great teacher.

    Fantastic Video! ( From one teacher to another), it may be helpful to use a different colour marker when writing object pronouns. It provides a visual reference. Direct object pronouns are the Bane of most people’s existence when learning Spanish. Can you please slower your pace and leave your notes on the whiteboard? Pausing your video too many times prolongs the absorption rate. The dialogue at the end was Brilliant! Real application of one’s language acquisition. Estoy enseno primero y segundo grados juntos aqui en Toronto. Estoy apriendo espanol ahora. Gracias por todos! Bien trabajo!

    • @scootin123
      @scootin123 6 років тому

      jay hancock NO but anytime you have to down load a bought lesson , don't by it. Lesson learned about downloading Samething happened to me in lessons in another field . Everything is on UA-cam, eventually you can piece. The instruction of various channels together to educate yourself properly with out having to rely on unreliable third party download apps. I like Spanish with Paul Channel but again it requires a third party down load app to get his paid lessons meaning I would have the same problems as you are experiencing

    • @jnev785
      @jnev785 6 років тому +2

      Except you rarely get the full course on UA-cam and by paying for the full course you are financing people like Dr Evans who can then provide some free content via UA-cam. Remember when everything is free the quality goes down, you only have to look at current news production to see that. ;-)

    • @scootin123
      @scootin123 6 років тому

      jnev785 that what I implied by saying that you can fill in the gaps of learning Spanish by viewing other channels presentation and by written free lessons in Internet search. How my computer can relieve a single youtube video that gobbles up data but can't down video lessons paid for.

    A nit: using masculine direct objects with a masculine subject could mislead some. Ditto for a female subject and a female direct objects. Just to disconnect the subject from the object in order to eliminate an erroneous connection, why not: Ella lo tiene instead of Ella la tiene. On the other side of the coin, why not Él la tiene (He has la pluma , he has it). Again, a minor nit that might eliminate confusion in a beginner's mind.
    BTW: Great job, you are a great instructor!

    Dr Evans is a great teacher no doubt. But in this lesson, I am a bit lost. Why do we have to conjugate 'estar' and 'buscar' separately to say I am looking for. Can't we just say 'Yo buscando....'? Also why are we using 'Estar' which is meant for temporary conditions and location. Why not ser...? are these the standard rules?
