He was a National treasure. Compare his class, his character, and his integrity, along with his loving and moral spirit, with the comedians and celebrities of today and you will see a stark contrast. Jerry Clower didn't have to delve into the baser subjects or the prurient interests to coax laughter from his audience. He just had the gift of relating the funny side of everyday rural life.
I got to see him in person many years ago. A good friend used to tell his stories at school and even got to meet him. Awhile back I got an autographed photo. Sadly, an autographed cassette I got off eBay disappeared. He could be funny without working blue. As always, his Christian faith was on display.
One of the best, Mr Clower ,was a good comedian, but I admire him most for being a Christian and spreading the word of the lord, we kneed more people like him in the world today, rest in peace Mr Clower.
Should a Christian man kiss a woman other than his wife on the mouth on TV in Montgomery Alabama? Jerry Clower did while he was in Selma doing a show. Watched the video last night. Lost all respect for him and I've been listening to him for 40+years.
Was truly a class act. Our world isnt the same without people like him in it.

Jerry Clower was as down to earth as a person can be. A true gentleman and a good soul.
That's true cause I met him in 1985 at the ATL airport and talked with him for a spell.

I used to think the same way about him until I watched him kiss another woman on the mouth at the end of a TV interview in Montgomery. Made me sick.
