My son is a girls basketball coach. It just tickled me that one of his jr. high girls brought a Jerry Clower CD and they all listened to it on the bus trip. Now that's country ! There's hope for our youth yet😀
Jerry Clower was the absolute best comedian in country, unlike most comics out there he could make you laugh without using foul language; we need more like him.
Since I was “a youngin” I’ve been listening to Jerry Clower. My mother bought me cassette tapes of his acts that I would listen to every night through school as I fell asleep, and I believe I’m a better person for it. I hope he rests in peace with his wife and loved ones.
So true! No matter what your profession, you need to know who is paying your salary and why. Keep them happy and you'll be happy, for the most part. And I love Jerry's humble attitude toward the venue staff. Treat everybody with respect, they will usually do their best for you. Even if they don't you will still have done the right thing.

When you meet employees who say they can't tell you who their boss is, you got a real big red flag and this goes for other patient or client or customer relationship you are part of.
@@chriskidd2137 I live in Alabama and grew up in North Carolina. I know the life pretty well! :) That's okay, though. Different strokes for different folks. It wouldn't do for everyone to be the same or all like the same things. I remember Jerry Clower when I was a kid. But listening to this clip today makes him sound more like a finger-pointing preacher than a comedian. What'd he get? Maybe 3-4 laughs in 3 minutes? If you enjoy "Southern" humor, check out James Gregory. He does a great job of mixing Southern culture with humor.

It's always interesting how UA-cam's algorithm works. I'll BET that UA-cam showed me your Jerry Clower video because I had done a UA-cam search the day before for Frank Deal, Fred Blackman and Lee Kinard. For some reason, I found myself thinking a about the local newscasters of my childhood and it was fun revisiting some old footage of those faces and voices. I hope you're doing well and keeping healthy.
