I bought an authentic flat iron from EBay and a fake from Pop Grab through their Instagram Ad. I thought the website was legit but after doing a little research I thought the site seemed fishy but I had already placed my order so it was too late. Well today I received my flat irons and they were indeed counterfeit.
Took screenshots of the differences between the two now I know what to look for. Thank you for saving me money, time, and embarrassment

Much peoples don't know about it and pay an expensive price for a fake instead try find a real one, but it will be hard depending where you live, greetings. 💕
*EDIT:* Recently, I searched about the brand BaByliss PRO ® Paris and discover that in part of South America her name is really Optima 3000, in North America is Prima 3000 and in some others Continents it's can be called Elipsis 3000 or have the same names already cited or another one, changing the heat and somethings in design of box, manual and flat iron, it's varies according by each authorized distributor by Conair Corporation and several countries about energy rules, around the world, so for a secutirty purchase, demand for the purchase invoice, certificate by your country factory, six months warranty and a reliable supplier, I hope I helped to clear up some confusion about replicas and original changes in different countries.

Yes I bought mine from a professional and trusted store in Ecuador so O knoe it can't be a scam I made a review on it and there was a person saying I got a fake one cause of this miss understanding mine says optima 3000 and its basicaly the same prima

Another Update!!! I disputed the charge with PayPal and they said I need to mail the flat iron back to the return address....the return address was in CHINA!!!!! $68 to ship it there!!!!! I still haven’t mailed it back yet. They said they’ll return my shipping costs once I mail it back. Such a freaking rip off!!!!!!

Thank God you posted this on UA-cam!! My husband bought me a new flat iron for my birthday that just passed 11/26/18. My flat iron was confiscated by TSA last year when I went on a trip to NJ. So I was looking at reviews on how to use the flat iron bc it's fancier than the cheap one I had before, but I couldn't read any instructions due to the entire box & instructions on the inside being in Spanish. My husband felt bad bc he was like, "babe I got it off Wal-Mart's website. I'm not cheap & you know I'm not cheap babe! Hello I buy Jordans!" Lol!! So this will be returned tomorrow & I'll be going to Ulta to purchase the real deal. I know for one it's not fake there! Makes me wonder if the Nike's they be selling on Wal-Mart online fake too🤔 It's a damn shame that the money we work so hard for is being ripped off by fake products!! Like fr fr!! Wow.. I had no idea that it was fake flat irons. I have been seeing these flat irons on Instagram (in hair videos) and started falling in love with them. Also the Pro red titanium flat irons too. I bought a pair that was very similar but it didn't say pro and it was $30 cheaper than the real ones. I've only used them once since I've bought them but now I'll be on the look out for the fakes. First of all its from china.. babyliss is not from china that should have been a red flag
Did you dispute with your bank? Your bank may even refund the $68 you have to spend to send it back. Talk to your bank. Paypal will protect the customer so much. Paypal will also protect the seller so much. Or dispute both charges with your bank. Spend the $68 to return the flat iron to get your money.
I was all over the web trying to figure out which flatiron I should get, I came across your video, it was funny and very insightful. You saved me , between amazon and eBay I look for the better deal.. I never thought that they would have fake curling iron..even thou there’s no hassle in returning purchases,I don’t like to have to return stuff. Thank you for your video. With your help I was able to ask the right questions to the seller from Facebook Marketplace. Poor thing had no idea of the value. I bought the 3100 1 inch along with Joico and Chi samples for $38 USD $50 CDN.

My salers company and read the reviews. Some companies walmart use is legit however very pool rating. If you knew you probably wouldn't use them other wise. But you trust walmart.....

Optima is used for the Latin American market ( because prima means female cousin in spanish so they changed the name to avoid confusions) but apart from the name change the iron itself should be identical
It is not identical...you are gonna burn your hair if you use it because it is not titanium plates. It is not a legit Babyliss Flat Iron.
Pro tip: if you get a deal and it's more than 20% off, it probably fake. Or used (ain't nothing wrong with that as long as you know).
Update! I sold my authentic Prima 3000 and bought a Prima 3100 with 1” plates. It’s smaller and I like it. I prefer the 1” plates over the 1.25” plates. I bought it on eBay.

I just bought a fake from Ebay. And the paint is rubbing off. I had it less than 8 hrs. Heated it up and used it on one client. Then rubbed it to keep it clean with a soft cloth and the paint is coming off. I contact the seller. She sent me a shipping label to return it. And get my refund. This is a shame out of all the research I still got a fake. Omg. Smh

I watched a radio just now in UA-cam by a spanish girl I guess. She is reviewing the Optima version. The light changes colors. So seems like Optima is sold in Spain only
Not only in Spain,a girl mentioned who is in a Latin country that they sell it even at Sally and the Bablybliss website the Optima version. Another lady commented that Canada also sells the Optima version. Just a month ago another person mentions that Babybliss has a list of stores not to trust on the website. Do your research. It is supposed to come with warranty and a glove.

girlllll... I had ordered one a week ago from Poshmark, and the first dead giveaway was that the OP had multiple listings sold with the same pictures. I still bought it anyway for $64. As soon as I bought it, the lady messaged me that she couldn't ship until next weekend, I said that was fine. As soon as it came it, I KNEW it was fake. The boxed was extremely banged up, words in spanish, Optima3000 the whole thing, but I still gave the benefit of the doubt. Nothing prepared me for what I saw, however. The blue plastic wrapped around the iron was shredded in some parts, melted off, AND FINGERPRINTS! at first I was like, this isnt new, as she advertised. I found your video and you bet im going to fight this. I turned it on, and yup, button lights are all red. Luckily, Poshmark has buyer protection and I hope they refund me and I get to send it back. But this is DANGEROUS! Beware! and thank you for making this video!!!

Unfortunately I got the fake one too and for a sec I thought it was the real one until I started using it and felt soo fake and cheap I bought it from website that was supposed to have “discount “.. but sucha rip off and lame 🤦🏻♀️now I went to the store and bought the nano type it is really good and definitely worth the price 🤞🏻

I'm confused right now... mine it's identical to the real one, just the lights of temperature stays red... but everything else it's identical to the real one... so... still don't know if i have the real one or the fake one
If you live near an Ulta they should be able to show you a real one in the store. Also does your box say Prima or Optima?
Someone commented that they contacted Babybliss and they said that some countries outside of the US for example Canada sell the Optima version only verses in the US prima is the version that is sold here. So,call Babybliss to get the information you need. I was thinking maybe it was 2 different versions then she showed how the lights and the other things were different.
I think I will go to Sally's to get it. Someone did a review on the black one and the prima one and she says Sally's sells both of them. The black one was $75 and the prima was $80 instead $180 from ULTA. Someone needs to check to see if Sally's is selling the prima or the Optima. Just in case the lady who did the review did not notice.
They are all authentic and made in China, babyliss just makes small changes to make it more unique... everything comes from china they just put their name on it
Yeah I think so too I also think it's because some or meant be sold in outlets are department stores like Walmart or you know hair vendors and stuff like that but I also think that the ones that are supposedly the real ones everyone's talking about I think those are the ones that are meant to be sold by hair stores are meant to be sold at salons for professional use so the price would be more but if that's the same with all products they have a higher version in the lower version some that are meant to be sold in department stores and some or meant to be sold in salons are certain places for professionals

Did some see them address that the Prima and Optima are both Babybliss, but the other one is not a U.S. product? It is probably meant for other countries to use. They make the better version for the U.S. only. I don't owe a Babybliss,but am thinking about purchasing one. I guess I better do more research.
@@tj.henderson if you get a counterfeit flat iron you'll be able to tell...it will feel cheap....you can also take it to a retail store near you and compare it to the one in the store. There are people out here that can't tell real from fake but I can. I buy authentic products because they don't lose their value. I am a seller on eBay. Been selling for over ten years and I've worked in a high end salon so I know the difference from first hand experience.
Did it come with a glove? Also, are the letters raised up on the box?
People babliss page got the list of stores by countries that you cant trust about go check it

After seeing this I confirmed that mine is a fake. I was wondering about it when I got mine and the writing was all in Spanish and no glove came with it. I bought it off of eBay. I am not happy.

Yes,you are right they do have scammers on eBay not sellers only,but buyers as well. I buy from eBay a few times a year. I also am a seller on eBay and I am not a scammer.

I should of done the same before I got my Supposedly babyliss pro miracurl machine , got it off eBay came in last Thursday and not sure if authentic or bc where the little grey round thing on it in other videos etc, mine is black on that part. Not necessarily, in latinamerica babyliss markets it as “optima” for some reason. Authorized retailers only sell optima here. I would focus more on the physical differences.

Erika Lacy I disputed the charge with PayPal and they said I need to mail the flat iron back to the return address....the return address was in CHINA!!!!! $68 to ship it there!!!!! I still haven’t mailed it back yet. They said they’ll return my shipping costs once I mail it back. Such a freaking rip off!!!!!!

Ya I was too scared to order mine anywhere online so I just went to ULTA in person. My alt exception online would’ve just been the ULTA website but I wanted it the same day. Very expensive but.. at least I’ve got peace of mind
