I took a look at the new background on Flickr and I think you made a really good choice choosing that particular paper for the backdrop! It makes the dolls look so beautiful! I liked your previous backdrop as well, but this one is even better in my opinion! And if the previous one feels connected to a rather bad time in your life, then it's probably for the better you made a new one. I wish you the best of luck retaking the photos of your collection!

It's a lot of work for sure, but we've gotten really efficient at doing it over the years (I already tackled on my L.O.L. tots and they were VERY difficult to undress ha ha). Hey, I just had a really positive glue seepage experience I wanted to share... I tried all the things until now... Oxiclean helped to a degree and helped to get extra glue out of the heads (when removing them during the soak) but it wasn't always getting all the glue out of the hair for me. Oil-based products like Goo Gone were great for that, but I didn't want to put those harsh chemicals on my dolls, my hands, or in the water supply. I used natural oils, which worked like a charm, but spent weeks trying to get the oils out of their hair. They just bound to the hair too well without the other chemicals to break it down. Powdery attempts were just a bandaid... then I tried the Pink Stuff. I thought it was a long shot and really just wanted to use it to try and get the oil out... then I suddenly saw a dramatic improvement. On nasty cases, I needed 3-4 treatments. But it's relatively gentle in general, it's ok on your skin, gentle on the dolls, pleasantly/lightly scented, and works super super well. I realized after removing the heads with the oxiclean attempts that the whole problem is caused by the glue breaking down. So you end up with sticky goo being wicked by the hair and leftover non-sticky hard glue crystals remaining in the head. So I realized it's not really necessary to remove the heads, because you'll never get all that out, and if I need to treat the girls again with a rinse with the Pink Stuff if more glue leeches out in a few years, I know it's not a big deal at all... and the stuff's cheap! I'm overjoyed...and looking forward to restoring some really messed up dolls soon! Hope that's useful and works as well for you as it did for me!
Thanks for sharing your experience with the glue seepage :) I honestly very rarely even treat the glue seepage, since it all comes out on its own and dries up. I only do the Oxi soaks if the doll is insanely sticky and is basically a hygiene hazard to herself and other dollies. I will have to remember to try the Pink Stuff sometime. It's good to know it isn't a super harsh chemical (I always try to avoid those since I chemically burned myself as a kid).

Thank you :) I have a video on caring for hair like Sasha's in my "Tips & Tutorials" playlist. But basically you don't want to brush or comb it. If it gets messy, conditioning it and dunking it in a boil wash helps reform the curls. I have that same Sasha, and she's been pretty low maintenance :)
Yea we don't have any transit around where I live unfortunately. No, we had to sell that Jeep back in 2018 (we named that one "Angel"). The Jeep I have now is mostly better behaved ha ha!

The girl who had Delilah before us did such a good job with her care--she doesn't even need medication for her arthritis (caused from the broken bones), so she is very lucky :)

Yes, that's exactly what has been happening to mine! The lights also aren't working properly. My cousin thinks it is some sort of grounding issue with the battery, so hopefully it can get fixed.
I boil washed her actually :) The key is not to get the water fully boiling though, otherwise it can take out most of her texture. So right before it started boiling I dunked her hair in the water and it helped tame it a lot!
Addy's hair is really prone to falling out (I had that problem with my childhood doll when I was a kid, so I had to get her head replaced because she literally balded). It's really important not to use a wire wig brush on her hair, because it makes it shed worse, and you have to be super gentle all the time. I only use a wide tooth comb on my two Addy dolls/Melody, but I try to mostly use my fingers for detangling. You can definitely condition her hair too, and see if that helps the dryness :)
