This series seems like it will provide much information with each tank you add. I've been doing planted tanks for quite some time and i still learned many things from just this one video. Yet again with every video i watch of yours i seem to pick up something new. Keep up the good work dude!
yes great video! setting up a tank from scratch in a few videos and then going back to it every now and then I think it's great. Your teaching people and I think it's what a lot of people love about the hobby setting up an watching it develop. great video looking forward to the next update on this tank . nice one👍
You have so many ideas about how you want things set up, this is a great way of doing it I think! Genius at work!! This should be a great series can't wait!
Great video! I have prob watched hundreds hrs of fish youtube videos over years and I have never seen a step by step how to plant and add fertilizer tabs! You're the man Cory!
Lol I've been using the tweezers wrong this whole time. Simple stuff like this is priceless. The random tips can't be found anywhere else. Amazing channel Cory! No one is doing it like you.
I like stuff like this. I don't need to see pretty pictures of fish; that's cool and all, but it doesn't teach me anything. I like seeing what you do, for maintenance and overhauling a tank.
I love planted tanks so much. Thanks for posting such informative videos. I swear the plants in my goldfish tank are growing like 5x better than in my big tank with the special fertilized substrate and fancy lights lol
cool idea for a video series, I like watching people do setups that's how I get ideas and I'm about to work on a new 20 long so thanks for sharing pal.
I think it's a good series. you covered everything about the tank and stuff you added which your audience could try with their tanks. as usual, amazing video cory! can't wait for the next one.
Great video,& awesome presentation!! I would have liked seeing how you cleaned the glass top. I cannot get mine clean no matter how much I scrub. Thanks again for all your hard work and for giving up your free time to teach us how to be successful with our tanks.
I use a little bit of vinegar mixed with water to clean mine. I just take it out to the yard and rub both sides with the vinegar solution, let it sit a bit and rub some more to see what didn't come off right away. Continue until clean. This cleans off both algae and hard water deposits. Just rinse it off well afterwards, dry it off and it's good!
I would love to this series continue. I'd also like to say that Cory's plants are fantastic, Received an Anubias from him the other day and it was in great shape. Definitely will be ordering more plants from him.
GREAT idea for a series! No matter the species, any step by step overhaul/maintenance video you make will give us multiple takeaways. I look forward to your next installment and would love to learn your method for cleaning glass tops with tuff mineral deposits. Cleaning mine is a half day and a bunch of razor blades... I feel certain you have a more efficient way. As always, thanks for all the time you spend educating us with your videos!
Luckily I don't have lots of limescale often, but typically I use white vinegar, for really bad ones, soak paper towels and let it sit on there to break it down for a while before you scrub.
Wow! Three hours with vinegar soaked paper towels yielded only five minutes of razor blade scraping around the edges. It was like having a free employee to do all the work for me! Thanks for the great tip!
Best way i found to introduce substrate in a tank (which already have water in it) to use a long funnel from walmart auto section and put substrate through it. Minimum mess once you get the hang of it. Great vid as always, good job !
Love the new series Cory! More down to earth YT fish keeping ! Are you gonna do other tanks with different species? Like that Discus tank you were talking about?
Cory. Great video. Thanks for showing us the best way to clean a sponge filter. I know you've explained it before but I'm a visual person and you gave a very straightforward way of doing it. Thank you! I also like the planting portion of the video. I learned a lot in a 20 minute video. I loved this type of video! Btw- going to my first local fish club meeting/auction tomorrow night. A great way to meet more fish people. Lol.
I've been wanting to start an aquarium for quite some time but I've been too intimidated. Thanks so much for this series. I feel like I can give it a try now.
You can totally do it Joy, there are so many helpful people in this hobby. You can always reach out to me or my fans here. We are all willing to help someone in the hobby.
This is a great video. Im not a Molly guy, but if I was, in 20min, I would know exactly how to set up a planted tank for them with an expert set up. It does seem challenging long term, lots of water change, lots of tabs. I wonder if it ever builds up enough nutrients in the gravel to not have to constantly use root tabs. OTAAT aka One Tank at a Time, is my fav series for fish.
Cory, do you ever really envision a time when the fishroom will be "done"? I feel like as soon as I "finish" a project (be it in the firhsoom or any other aspect of life) and I'm '"done", my mind starts coming with with ways to either go back and fix something or realize I can keep doing something else over there lol. Using the bag to grab the sponge filter is definitely a smart idea....better than my method of scoop it out quick and hope I dont drop it back into the tank lol. As far as cleaning the sponges; I'll sometimes start a siphon out of the tank and use that "running water" to clean the sponge as if you were running it under the tap.
Well It's hard to say. I think if I finished my fish room at home, I'll likely start building another facility. But we'll see if the buildings I want open up, that could happen in the middle of this project etc.
Keep up the good content Cory. Love the videos. Still learning and new to the hobby. I grow and sell plants in my area. Love any video you put out. I actually takes notes when I watch your videos to help with my knowledge and remembering of the hobby
I love this video Cory! I love to see regular people doing regular things. This is about how my planted tank began. Ugly looking with clumps of plants here and there! LOL! Still waiting for it to grow in, just like yours is. Can too many fertilizer tabs make the water toxic to the fish?? Thanks for the demo on how to clean the sponge filter.
interesting video. looking forward to the follow up video. maybe I suggest doing a live stream focusing on acidic soft water, ie raising it....the different methods, what fish/plants are more suited to it. the pros and cons. my water has a pH 6.3, gh/kh of 0. so I have a particular interest in the raising the buffer to avoid crashes, though I use coral as a substrate and add a little Epson salt per water change, I notice my guppies in particular congregate in a large group for a short time in one corner of the tank like their stressed with every water change. personally I try to keep fish from the amazon, I do love live bearers!
I think this hobby needs more instruction on the proper setup, water perameter, cleaning and maintenance. There is a proper way to keep certain species of fish. I only keep fish together in an aquarium that come from the same waters. The fish act more natural, live a healthy life, are less prone to disease and infections and have better coloration. So Yes...more videos like this are helpful, needed and appreciated.Thank you Cory....
I really enjoyed this video and do look forward to more. I use that tip about using the sludge from my sponge filters and my water changes for my potted plants. My own little hydroponics.
Just when I think you've taught me all you know, you blow me away with yet another one of your trademark simple and near effortless techniques. THANK YOU COREY! Btw, using the plastic bag to contain copious amounts of sponge detritus was sheer brilliance, except I prefer a 1/2 gal. dollar store kool-aid pitcher.🤓
Cory, Quick Tip. First you should just call them Q tips. Second, use a mag float to clean glass lids. Works really well on inside and if the outside is really bad take a razor blade to it. But if done often they should clean up nicely. Great video...….

Can't see the update of this video 😥
This series seems like it will provide much information with each tank you add. I've been doing planted tanks for quite some time and i still learned many things from just this one video. Yet again with every video i watch of yours i seem to pick up something new. Keep up the good work dude!
I think your the only one doing things like this that I've seen in awhile, great job Cory!
I think this is a great idea for a series.
i dig the one tank at a time series. i just enjoy seeing how other people maintenance their tanks.
I just wanted to thank you for all the help I have received from watching all your videos new & old
yes great video! setting up a tank from scratch in a few videos and then going back to it every now and then I think it's great. Your teaching people and I think it's what a lot of people love about the hobby setting up an watching it develop. great video looking forward to the next update on this tank . nice one👍
Thanks for the input. Doing another tank soon :)

Perfect video for me, looking forward to more.
Thank you from the UK
Marv :-)
I searched for the update but couldn't find it. would love to see the results of this project.
Just bought some easy iron, and this series is awesome.
You have so many ideas about how you want things set up, this is a great way of doing it I think! Genius at work!! This should be a great series can't wait!
Oh man, looking forward to this series!!!
I'm glad :P
Great video! I have prob watched hundreds hrs of fish youtube videos over years and I have never seen a step by step how to plant and add fertilizer tabs! You're the man Cory!
Yeah, it's not worth a whole video on how to do it, but thats why I think this series will work well. Shows lots of little tips hopefully.
Yayyy! Keep this series going, I've got 3 tanks to build so I'll be setting it up with you!
It's a race!
That knowledge was worth more than many of the college courses I've taken combined!
Thanks!
Lol I've been using the tweezers wrong this whole time. Simple stuff like this is priceless. The random tips can't be found anywhere else. Amazing channel Cory! No one is doing it like you.
Well I'm not sure there is a right and a wrong way, if you were left handed you'd use it differently that I do etc... Do whatever works for you!
Nice! Love this series. Keep it going, 1 tank at a time.
One tank at a time, one video at a time :)
I’m just getting started in the hobby, so I like watching all of your content it helps me a lot!
I am going to love this series! I never thought of the bag idea, for the sponge filter. That is brilliant!
Ha Ha! I just realized this is from two years ago. I guess I'll just have to search the archives.
I like stuff like this. I don't need to see pretty pictures of fish; that's cool and all, but it doesn't teach me anything. I like seeing what you do, for maintenance and overhauling a tank.
The new series is a great idea Cory!
Not to bad for a spur of the moment idea.
I love planted tanks so much. Thanks for posting such informative videos. I swear the plants in my goldfish tank are growing like 5x better than in my big tank with the special fertilized substrate and fancy lights lol
Loving this!! Can not wait to see the updates on how this tank fills in. =)
I like that you do this, please don’t stop
cool idea for a video series, I like watching people do setups that's how I get ideas and I'm about to work on a new 20 long so thanks for sharing pal.
Glad it works out for ya :) Not sure what's next... hmm.
Awesome idea for a series. Damn I am looking forward to where you take this series. Great job explaining stuff too.
Hopefully it'll take me over all the place :)
I'm just stopping by to say you are the coolest!
I think it's a good series. you covered everything about the tank and stuff you added which your audience could try with their tanks.
as usual, amazing video cory! can't wait for the next one.
We'll see when I find the time to do the next tank :)
Great video,& awesome presentation!! I would have liked seeing how you cleaned the glass top. I cannot get mine clean no matter how much I scrub. Thanks again for all your hard work and for giving up your free time to teach us how to be successful with our tanks.

This is gonna be an awesome series, super pumped about it
Awesome series! You can cover a ton working one tank at a time and it improves your fish room at the same time. Double win!
YAH! This is a awesome serie!!!
Glad you like it.
Thank you very much for your hard work sharing this with us all around the globe. Very helpful and great tips. Learning everyday thanks to you Cory!!
I would love to this series continue. I'd also like to say that Cory's plants are fantastic, Received an Anubias from him the other day and it was in great shape. Definitely will be ordering more plants from him.
Always happy to hear my plants arriving healthy.
I enjoy this series, especially when it cater to different species.
Good, I figure eventually everyone will find a tank/species they enjoy watching.
Definitely like this style of video, too. Can't wait to see what this tank looks like in a few months. Lots of great tips, too.
this made me want to give plants a shot. awesome and informative video! can't wait to see the tank in a couple months
I think this is a great idea for a series!
Noted :)

+A. Goldfish Patron glad to of helped!
looking forward to see the one tank at time and learn about more plants and fish and see them grow
Best way i found to introduce substrate in a tank (which already have water in it) to use a long funnel from walmart auto section and put substrate through it. Minimum mess once you get the hang of it. Great vid as always, good job !
+Tirtha Das seems like a good tip!
Great Video! Congrats on 14K!

Thanks🐠
Glad I'm relaxing :)
Love the new series Cory! More down to earth YT fish keeping ! Are you gonna do other tanks with different species? Like that Discus tank you were talking about?
I plan to do different species yes, not sure Discus will be anytime soon, but yep!
yes do more of these types of videos. your awesome Corey
Cory, maybe could you do a video on bagging/shipping fish or plants one day?
Thanks :)
Like the idea for this series. Always love the creative process involved in setting up a new tank. Interested in seeing how things progress.
Yeah, I'm hoping it'll pre answer a lot of questions for people if I discuss why I do something.
Lol.
Nice, hopefully the club is awesome! Can be a great way to really get addicted to the hobby.

Will love to see this tank in a few months!
Great idea for a series, loved this one and look forward to seeing more
Thanks for the feedback.
Very informative! Thank you, I hope you keep up with this series.
This is a great video. Im not a Molly guy, but if I was, in 20min, I would know exactly how to set up a planted tank for them with an expert set up. OTAAT aka One Tank at a Time, is my fav series for fish.
Hey thanks Cory. Definitely helping me not be so OCD with my own tank appreciate it.
I love this type of content! keep the series going!
So far at least one more since people are enjoying it.
Awesome. Love all the videos of your fish room, keep them coming 😀
I like this as I am still learning about plants and substrates.
Nice one Corey! - looks like a great series :)
Do more videos like this it's full of info and I like watching tank setups. :)
great video, I love this idea helps people to get a good direction on where to go with their tank!
Nice idea for a series
Seems to be well received.
I do like to see your DIY videos. Helps to save money!! Thanks
yes pls do more of them!
totally loved it
Cory, do you ever really envision a time when the fishroom will be "done"? I feel like as soon as I "finish" a project (be it in the firhsoom or any other aspect of life) and I'm '"done", my mind starts coming with with ways to either go back and fix something or realize I can keep doing something else over there lol. Done is a relative term Rich. Lol
It's possible he means "once I've added as many tanks as can fit". Then its just ongoing improvement to systems, layout, etc.
Well It's hard to say. I think if I finished my fish room at home, I'll likely start building another facility. But we'll see if the buildings I want open up, that could happen in the middle of this project etc.
LOL....I've been done with my fishroom at least 4 times now
Love these types of videos, the tank is looking good
Looks a lot better today :) Starting to clear up.
Great idea for videos! Keep them coming!
Keep up the good content Cory. Love the videos. Still learning and new to the hobby. I grow and sell plants in my area. Love any video you put out. I actually takes notes when I watch your videos to help with my knowledge and remembering of the hobby
Also if I lived in your area id come work for you for free just off the knowledge you could provide alone
Glad you find it useful.
Soooo stoked about this series!!!! Do one on yoyos! Oh ! And bettas. Ooo maybe yellow labs too!!!!
Bettas and yellow labs will probably happen. Yoyos not scheduled currently.
I love your videos my friend. Regards from the UK, and keep up the great work.
Some people are very knowledgeable some are great teachers. You are both. You never come across as arrogant or you know it all.
Great idea Cory. I love this style of video!
Glad to see that it's a successful.
Awesome information. I watch all your videos and this one was so informative! Thanks
Ty so helpful for a beginner like me!!! Just had my first baby mollies😍
I love the idea of this series
I love this video Cory! I love to see regular people doing regular things. This is about how my planted tank began. Ugly looking with clumps of plants here and there! LOL! Still waiting for it to grow in, just like yours is. Can too many fertilizer tabs make the water toxic to the fish?? Thanks for the demo on how to clean the sponge filter.
I'm not sure if too many could go toxic, but I've never had it happen and I've used a LOT before.. like 80 a tank in a 90 gallon tank.
interesting video. looking forward to the follow up video. maybe I suggest doing a live stream focusing on acidic soft water, ie raising it....the different methods, what fish/plants are more suited to it. the pros and cons. my water has a pH 6.3, gh/kh of 0. so I have a particular interest in the raising the buffer to avoid crashes, though I use coral as a substrate and add a little Epson salt per water change, I notice my guppies in particular congregate in a large group for a short time in one corner of the tank like their stressed with every water change. personally I try to keep fish from the amazon, I do love live bearers!
Awesome Cory definitely a good idea looking forward to the next one
I gotta think of which one I want to do next :)
Love it! And absolutely yes to this type of video!
So excited for this video series!
Hopefully it'll give people ideas.
I really enjoyed this video and do look forward to more. I use that tip about using the sludge from my sponge filters and my water changes for my potted plants. My own little hydroponics.
Yeah, plants grow well from it.
love the concept... you do we learn or it reminds us of things we may have forgotten.. tyvm
It's a win/win! :)
I’m watching this again as I re-do my molly tank.
love the long videos!
Yeah, I guess I use bags cause in rack systems, usually you don't have enough space to get the pitcher out without spilling.
Good video definitely keep this series
Let's face it I love all of you videos. keep um coming.
Cory, Quick Tip. First you should just call them Q tips. Second, use a mag float to clean glass lids. Works really well on inside and if the outside is really bad take a razor blade to it. But if done often they should clean up nicely. Great video...….
And this way the lid never leaves the tank. How many have we (I) broke.... LOL
