I would need either the aggressive one or the medium one. I have a dense beard and sensitive skin. My concern with the titanium is that if it cuts the same, and i already have two hensons (medium and an aggressive), what would be for getting one that works like the ones I already have? My son is going to start shaving soon and for him I think either a twig or a mild henson would be ones I start him with. I wish I could match colors (the V1 had a red) and wanted to make him a spiderman themed one but alas in V2 they got rid of the red one.
@@OhioShaves Wow, I didn't realize if you had specified it in the video but they seemed to be on two different levels! It will be difficult to select the right cutting capacity! Thanks again
Have both, AL and TI, in mild. Fully agree, the TI feels different. It feels smoother and more efficient. Use it with a (corked) Feather which gives a perfect smooth shave. Blade lasts a week, 3 shaves beard and head. Now I take the AL when I travel and the TI at home.
I have the AL13+ and Ti++. IMHO the mild is a good daily driver, with the medium good for anything 2+ days of growth. Being relatively new to this, I am also noticing that experimenting with blades also makes a massive difference. I have tried Astra Platinum on a Rockwell T2SS, AL and Ti and it just doesn't work for me. Bic Platinum was very good, and Derby Premium also good. Gillette Silver Blue is a very good all rounder on all razors, but I am seeing excellent results with Feather and Wilkinson Sword on the Ti++.
I've dropped mine on the tile floor with no issues. It's made out of titanium, which is one of the strongest metals. Think of it like the face of a driver for playing golf. Multiple hits with no dents or dings left on the face of the club. Very strong
I really like my AL medium but its so light. So i switched to 3rd party handle that is way heavier. Difference is big, from good to outstanding. Specially shaving head is so much better with heavier henson
I’m getting the al13 Can’t wait to try it If this razor gives me a great shave like I’ve heard and try it for myself. I’ll upgrade at Christmas time and buy it.
I’m hearing the loud siren song of the Konsul XL slant adjustable SS rhodium as a second razor, but the Ti22 also looks like it would make an amazing compliment to my Rockwell T2SS. I could buy them both but my bride would sentence me to a month in the dog house….LOL. Your thoughts?

I get better shaves with a regular or standard safety razor than I do a slant. Yeah I think the Yates precision safety razor is a total winner.@@donaldlyons7143
The aggressive version equals to one percent of their sales. It's not that great of a razor, and Henson actually admits that on their website. If you want aggression, you need to look at a different razor when it comes to Henson shaving.
I think the T22 must be made of the lower cheaper grade 5 titanium. It is too bad it is not made it with a more affordable stainless steel….It would be nearly as durable as Ti while having a better weight then aluminum.
Buy a variety pack from Amazon. RK blades do an OK job on my face but yeah, personas just give me another level. Perfect shaves in any razor I owe. Made in the USA. Of course, the best razor blades are made in the United States because we have better policies on manufacturing and a whole. I used to like Gillette, but their quality control is terrible. Now that all of those companies have left Russia, and now are in China and India and I heard the Middle East as well. I’m just gonna stick with what works for me. Made in the USA.
Was that the Mild, Medium , or Agressive Titanium version you were shaving with ?....Any advice on what version a person should go with ?... thanks for another great video.
Nice looking safety razor. But at 2.7 oz the Ti-22 is still lighter than most other metal safety razors. I like my AL-13 but you can get two Rockwell 6S DEs for the price of one Ti-22.
@@petekadenz9465 I understand. Titanium is a higher-priced material and costs more to machine. So why didn't Henson just make a stainless steel version? Safety razors aren't aerospace structures that need higher strength and lower density than stainless steel. I can get a decent shave with my AL-13 but not as efficient and smooth as my Rockwell 6S. But I guess it's nice to have options and Henson obviously had data that convinced them there was a customer base. I just think titanium razors are a novelty.
Do you still have your Henson TI22 and you should make a video to compare to your Henson medium aggression. I was wondering do you clean or wash your brush?
Instead of spending money on jewelry that doesn’t perform, this piece of fine art actually does something, for a lifetime. At least for me, that’s the appeal.
My review is about the Aluminum AL-13 Mild and the TI-22 Medium. I started out with the Al-13 and liked it but wondered if upgrading to the a medium would be more efficient. The TI-22 sounded cool and the idea of it lasting forever was cool. I liked the quality idea of it and after reading a lot of reviews I decided to try it. I wanted to see if the weight would help with efficiency as I am a daily face shaver. After what felt like a long period of time I wondered if I should give up and sell the TI-22. I cut myself a lot and researched what would make it better for my face with less cuts. To say the least don't press into your face. Let it do the work. Key take aways I learned. Everyone's face is different and not every situation will work for everyone. So if you invested in a Henson you need to consider the following. Shave oil is okay but doesnt work as well as i'd like. A bar of dove soap works well alone or put cream or lotion on top of it. Rub it in well on the face. Also, try different blades. I bought 20 different brands. Astra, silver blue, wilkinsin, and personna are great. Switch blades out every 1 to 3 shaves. It all depends on your face and how course your hair is. I also have used cheap creams, cremo, and proraso cream. Use a small amount. I also bought a synthetic brush and a plastic bowl. Mix a spash of water with whatever you use and mix with brush. You don't want it to be too watery. Rub brush multiple ways on face. When it comes to shaving figure out which way your facial hair grows with facial hair mapping. This helped me a lot. Use short strokes shaving. Don't go all the way down your face like your cartidge blade. While shaving and a part of your face you haven't gotten to yet is kinda dry with cream, just mix your brush in the bowl and lather that dry spot again. Shave with the grain and then against or acrossthe grain. This won't work for everyone. Going against grain right away does not end well for me. So after reading all that, yes I thought I wasted my money on the TI-22 Medium. After several months of trying different methods written above, I am finally happy with The TI-22 medium. I get little to no cuts. It is more efficient than the mild. I have used both at sink and in shower. Be careful around the adams apple and stretch skin and go over slow. I get great shaves with both these razors. The AL-13 stays in the shower and the TI-22 stays by the sink on the Henson stand almost always. If I have more than a few days of growth (I have course hair) the TI-22 medium cut through it with efficiency. Rinse blade channel often. So when you're thinking about regretting your purchase just try some of the methods above. Yeah it costed me some money. I finally have an amazing shave. I was never able to shave against the grain with cartridges until now. Better shave than the cartidge blades once you figure out which method works best for your body. The AL-13 Mild is very forgiving on cuts as well. Check out Ohio Shaves and geofatboy on youtube. Maybe this will make more sense. Also, dont change your blade with a soapy hand. I had a slice right down my thumb. Anyway, I finally made it to great shave land!
Nice review. Thanks. I have standard aluminum (mild) on the way. Titanium was tenpting. But the price was too high for me to go with it. Titanium materal is expensive. And it takes longer to machine. But that is really high, unreasonable to me, price jump.
@@OhioShaves yes. I appreciate how much extra effort and cost goes into making it. That's the reason for my expectation of a box to match the special feel and price of the razor. Not that I have any experience with any of the Henson razors.

Very true. I remember when Ford had the bright idea of using it instead of steel in their truck beds… You could take a hammer and just barely drop it and you would end up with a dent in your new bed of your truck. I always rather steel over the later. Much more durable and not as fenicy to work with when doing metal work.

This isn’t going to offer any practical advantage over the AL13 or AL13-M except for the optional aggressive model not found on the aluminum and the PLEASURE aspect of using a finely machined piece of functional art. That cannot and should not be underestimated. I will probably get one even though I love my AL13-M.

The titanium blade is a magic elixir to sell to fools. It isn’t any more effective than the aluminum but for those who want to show their adoring admirers that they have the money to waste and the tiny bit of added strength to lift the fancy magic metal. It’s no criticism of Henson because they created a razor equal in quality to the aluminum razor. They have a perfect right to sell a more than acceptable product at an an inflated price to a market of consumers who can’t live without unnecessary though zippy bells and whistles. Fine, pay more than needed to feed your inflated ego.

Hi! My favorite razor is the Parker SoloEdge, what version (mild, medium, agresive) of the Ti22 would you say is the closest to the Parker? Thanks!
Mild
I don't know why, but when it's made of titanium, it's really beautiful to the eye and attracts attention, a beautiful razor❤
It's a very unique looking razor. Totally agree with you.
Attracts attention? Where do you shave that someone would see you and compliment you on your razor? Lol
Right on👍
Hi Tracey I have a Rocket Red medium Henson v1 and agree it’s a gorgeous colour.
@@petekadenz9465 I guess it didn’t sell that well and got rid of it when they went to v2
Hi, what size cut for this razor? Mild, medium or aggressive?! Thanks
Mild it can remove 10 days of growth
@@OhioShaves Wow, I didn't realize if you had specified it in the video but they seemed to be on two different levels! It will be difficult to select the right cutting capacity! Thanks again
I looked at the content calmly and silently and found all the information that I hadn't understood at the first listen!
Nice review. Thanks for sharing and all of your support.
Anyone had any issues after dropping one? Can they be deformed after dropping onto a tiled floor for instance?
I've dropped mine on the tile floor with no issues. It's made out of titanium, which is one of the strongest metals. Think of it like the face of a driver for playing golf. Multiple hits with no dents or dings left on the face of the club. Very strong
I really like my AL medium but its so light. So i switched to 3rd party handle that is way heavier. Difference is big, from good to outstanding. Specially shaving head is so much better with heavier henson
👍
What third party handle did you use?

I’m getting the al13
Can’t wait to try it
If this razor gives me a great shave like I’ve heard and try it for myself.
I’ll upgrade at Christmas time and buy it.
Great choice
I’m hearing the loud siren song of the Konsul XL slant adjustable SS rhodium as a second razor, but the Ti22 also looks like it would make an amazing compliment to my Rockwell T2SS. I could buy them both but my bride would sentence me to a month in the dog house….LOL. Your thoughts?
I’m not a big fan of slant razors. I think there are better options that get better shaves. Yates has some great razors. Yates Precision 5% off Code: OHIOSHAVES5
Model 921-M: yatesprecision.com/products/model-921-stainless-steel-safety-razor?sca_ref=4068873.qNgUzofCr0
Merica Safety Razor: yatesprecision.com?sca_ref=4068873.qNgUzofCr0
So you’d favor the Yates over the Henson? What’s your issue with slants?
Yes. They shave great
I get better shaves with a regular or standard safety razor than I do a slant. Yeah I think the Yates precision safety razor is a total winner.@@donaldlyons7143
...I've got GAS...Gear acquisition syndrome!! Trouble in River City. Thanks. Honing in on the Ti22 or the Yates. TBD.
Do you still use the TI? Which one do you prefer the TI or the AL?
The Ti22
I got the titanium, never had the aluminum.
👍 one of my favorites.
I want to see a comparison between all the al13s mild medium and aggressive and the titanium!
The aggressive version equals to one percent of their sales. It's not that great of a razor, and Henson actually admits that on their website. If you want aggression, you need to look at a different razor when it comes to Henson shaving.
Can you swap heads with other hensons - medium , mild?
I've never tried it. I don't see why not.
I think the T22 must be made of the lower cheaper grade 5 titanium. It is too bad it is not made it with a more affordable stainless steel….It would be nearly as durable as Ti while having a better weight then aluminum.
It's pretty nice. I love my
Do you like the Personna over the RK blades? I've never used anything other than the RK that came with my original Henson Order.
@@OhioShavesare those made in usa though?
Was that the Mild, Medium , or Agressive Titanium version you were shaving with ?....Any advice on what version a person should go with ?... thanks for another great video.
This is the mild version and I prefer it over the medium.
What do you use to shave your head?
Same razor
Henson Ti22 or Leaf twig?
For the Money, Twig. For engineering marvel, Ti22
@@OhioShavestwig or thorn?
Dont really understand their 3 level of agressiveness what would you suggest for someone coming from electric ?
Mild
Doesn’t look to me that it’s cutting thro the beard as smooth as the original imo?
Cheers🍻🥃
It's smooth. I still like the Al-13 for the money
Get this or the 6s?

@OhioShaves thanks I had already ordered can't wait . First de . Tried out my son's gillete king c and thought this could be good for me .

What grade is your razor Mild, Agressive or ?
It's mild, but it shaves like the medium AL 13. If that makes any sense.
@@OhioShaves i used a Mild AL13 this pass Sunday. Good
I ordered the Mild Ti22 today.
Great choice. Thanks for your support. The Ti22 is my absolute favorite razor out of all of them that I have tried.
Does t3 brush lose hairs ? How old it is and how much hairs it lose ?
About 6 hairs. 1.5 years old
The y3 is a solid brush. If you want a great brush that is much cheaper, get yourself a razorock Big Bruce. Great brush for 15$.

Oh man Ohio is getting into the high end game can’t wait to see what’s next!
💈😁
I'm sure it's a great razor. However, $69.99 vs $249.99 does it give you a shave that's $180 better than an AL-13?
No. If you want the best, Henson made. This is it.
What aggression level are you using?
Mild
Nice looking safety razor. But at 2.7 oz the Ti-22 is still lighter than most other metal safety razors. I like my AL-13 but you can get two Rockwell 6S DEs for the price of one Ti-22.
It’s does cost a pretty penny.
That’s true Bart. But titanium razors cost a lot more than stainless steel ones, just as SS razors cost a lot more than aluminium ones.
Rockwell sucks!
Do you still have your Henson TI22 and you should make a video to compare to your Henson medium aggression. I was wondering do you clean or wash your brush?
Is coming at some point. I clean it after every shave with warm water.
Instead of spending money on jewelry that doesn’t perform, this piece of fine art actually does something, for a lifetime. At least for me, that’s the appeal.
Totally get what you mean! Art is like jewelry for the soul, and it just keeps on giving!
why you dont try rock a tony stark gotee or doctor strang gotee

Copy and paste. Thanks for the review, brother. It is greatly appreciated.
Nice review. Thanks. I have standard aluminum (mild) on the way. Titanium was tenpting. But the price was too high for me to go with it. Titanium materal is expensive. And it takes longer to machine. But that is really high, unreasonable to me, price jump.
That's a safe option. It will be good shave. Just try different blades and get a brush and bowl if you want.
nice review👍cool razor
Thank you much
I have to say that I would expect some slightly more special packaging for the TI, given the price.
More than just a white box. Ti22 isn’t cheap and the tooling to cut it into a safety razor. Crazy
@@OhioShaves yes. I appreciate how much extra effort and cost goes into making it. That's the reason for my expectation of a box to match the special feel and price of the razor.
Not that I have any experience with any of the Henson razors.
Fancy boxes aren’t cheep. Do we want a razor with high end materials and extremely tight tolerances or a pretty package with lesser materials. Im happy to pay for great engineering.
Yay! A new shave video from David! As far as im concerned a canadian razor with a blade made in the states is about made in the usa as youre gonna get 😂 cheers brother, nothing like a good shave to make you feel whole again.

Bottom line Aluminum is a soft material and I really hate aluminum razors. I will stick with my Titanium Henson.

Very true. I remember when Ford had the bright idea of using it instead of steel in their truck beds… You could take a hammer and just barely drop it and you would end up with a dent in your new bed of your truck. I always rather steel over the later. Much more durable and not as fenicy to work with when doing metal work.
Wake up…engineers use that very special aluminum, that used to cost more than gold, to make the jet airliner you trust with your life and spacecrafts that go to the moon and beyond. Feel it…you got suckered.

Excellent review! And I'm probably going to catch a lot of crap for this but as far as I'm concerned there's not a razor on the face of the planet that's worth $225. I wish they would make one of these out of 316L stainless is kind of like the jump the shark going straight from aluminum to titanium. Was still beautiful though!
You're not the first one to mention that, and I'm sure you're not gonna be the last. Everyone is asking for a stainless steel Henson. What a razor that would be price point probably around one $130-$150 though. Would you pay that much?
@@OhioShaves 150 is about my cutoff point. Yeah I would go that high easy but I think once you get over $200 that you're hitting the law of diminishing returns. But that's just my opinion and opinions are like noses and nobody wants to pick anybody else's nose lol!
I spent $100 a year on Gillette razors and blades for years. I started with Gillette with my 1st shave like many other’s. I’m saving a lot. Money aside. I’m getting the best shaves of my life and having fun producing UA-cam videos
@@OhioShaves I can honestly say the same thing I've never enjoyed shaving. As someone with a visual impairment it's not the easiest thing in the world for me but even with a $7 razor which is what I did on my last video just for friends because of subscriber asked for it I still had one of the best shaves I've ever had. Pretty Good. High Cost
It’s pretty special
AL-13 now has the +++ Aggressive model
Sure it is. The mass of the razor has an influence on the shave. It's one of many design parameters.
I contacted them within minutes after I realized this was not the Titanium razor. I had it in my possession for about three (3) weeks before I realized it. I shaved about 8 times. I disclosed my personal situation to them, so I won't do so here. The aluminum razor feels like a beast in itself - especially to a Gillette Fusion user - so it took a while for me to figure it out it isn't the titanium. When I looked at the side of the box that said aluminum, I realized wtf?
Something doesn’t sound right. Do you think they would’ve known doing inventory once a month that they had an extra titanium razor and was short one aluminum razor?
@@OhioShaves Good point. Henson gave me no alternative but to file a case against them in the local Court. They are dishonest.
@@neilroberts1171 I'm sure they'll settle out of court. I work with them quite a bit and they are extremely helpful and very generous by giving me a dozen razors or giveaways.
Some people are willing to pay the price for precious metals. Definitely a market for it and I see why manufacturers sell them
Aluminum is soft. I’ve dropped my aluminum handle Henson once and it dinged up. I also have a Henson titanium and have also dropped it a couple of times and it didn’t ding. I definitely prefer the Titanium. In the long run, it will stay more pristine longer.
Too rich for my blood unfortunately…
It’s pricey for sure
