    I'm not sure why you always 1) build your manor before building the villeins' houses, and 2) do an extravagant build right off the bat. Before the production line is even stabilised, so many of your resources get tied up in manor construction, and then you're scrambling to get resources for your villeins in an emergency.
    I understand that you're trying to be realistic, but this actually isn't realistic - a lot of the grand castles and manors that we are left with today were built in sections over time, in a series of renovations. Very few were built grand right off the bat. And of those that were, all (or most) were built in already-established regions, not newly developing ones.
    Edit: and also making the villeins' houses so big right off the bat! That's neither smart gameplay-wise nor realistic.
    And I'm not saying all this to be negative - I genuinely intend for this to partially be constructive criticism, and partially an inquiry as to why you do this. Because it might not make sense to me, but that doesn't mean it doesn't make sense to you, you know?

      Well, you are absolutely right. Building too big right from the start makes no sense.
      First of all the manor. It has the same size as the villeins houses, because it is temporary. Later a villeins will take it over and we will build a true manor at least triple in size.
      The build is not extravagant at all in my opinion. The bedroom is a bit large for the small families, right. But you can see that the kitchen does not have a lot of spare room available.
      The reason I build it that way right from the start is that in the current state of the game it is not possible to move furniture and rebuild entire sections takes a long time. to prevent that, I tend to do medium size layouts right from the start

      @@obivandamme Is it not possible to build the houses one room at a time? Like, plan out how you want the houses to look, but then only build one room, about 1/3 of the size that you usually keep houses at. Have that be a combined bedroom/kitchen. Won't be able to fit a table, but that's not an immediate need anyways. Then when the time comes to expand, you only need to deconstruct some of the furniture instead of entire sections of wall, roof, and flooring.
      Or just have the kitchen be outdoors initially, then you only need to build the house up around it instead of needing to deconstruct anything.
      Same with the lord's manor, you could plan out the entire thing but initially make it maybe 2/3 of a regular build (twice the size of the build proposed above) to reflect the lord's status, then expand on it later once the production chain is semi-stable. Again, you'd only need to deconstruct some furniture rather than bits of house. Would make it easier on you

    • @obivandamme
      @obivandamme  2 роки тому

      You can, but that would require you to not plan out the final look, because as soon as the blueprint is placed, they will start working. if you want to plan ahead, you have to assign only the room you want to build to the family and than add a second household zone with forbidden building, because otherwise the lord will start construction. and as I said it isnot possible to simply move furniture, but you have to build the new one and than deconstruct the old one.
      you are definatly right about the size of some buildings and we will change the fishermen house in the next episode, but for the lords and the farmers there is no issue in my eyes. especially because we did not build an inn in the beginning.

      @@obivandamme Alright. Got it. We have to work within the limitations of the game. It really could benefit from a blueprinting system, imo. Do you know if that's a feature they're planning on adding?

      I do that for the lord's family always. For the rest only do it if the family is crazy rich and the mason needs money
