Thanks, you gave excellent tips for GMs and players. I have two suggestions: 1_ Regarding the usage of maps... Do you have any tips in how to get modern maps for M&M campaigns? Do you make your own maps? I'm thinking about running a medieval fantasy campaign because finding this kind of maps is much easier. 2_ Could you make a video about how descriptors and hero points affect the combat?
1. I make my own maps, but I’ve used pieces of paper as a guide before it a drawing app on an iPad. I like dungeon fog quite a lot. 2. That video is actually coming next!
regarding the example of the two characters just standing side by side and hitting each other, it also seems to not acknowledge the massive range characters can have in this game. Theoretically you can make a character that doesnt even have to be in the same continent as the other one and still hit them.
I agree, I’ve just found it to be the most common thing to happen when you’re a new GM and Players to make combat simple by making everything easily reachable and have villains not move very much
Another great video. It's interesting to hear that you use the grid maps as much as you do, considering how high movement can scale. I would have figured the game mostly utilizes theater of the mind by default.
I have done both extensively. I don't particularly think one system is better than the other, it just should fit the needs of your campaign. In the podcast, we did it as theater of the mind because of the low skill level of the players and because combat was not important to everyone. I think it should definitely be something to consider if all your Heroes are combat-focused or if combat is what you want to take away from the game.
For sure, I’ve been trying more recently with making the videos non-specific for each edition, for the most part, the editions are not tooo strongly different when it comes to combat or campaign design
These are great for New Players and gms. Thanks for taking the time!
We’re always happy to help new people to get into the game

Can I flip a grid sideways and do underwater depth? I’m making an underwater battle scene and some characters can breath underwater but others cannnt
If it works in the air, it works underwater/underground

Do you create the maps or are they somewhere?
Is this more for 2e or 3e?
Everything in this video should apply to both games but specifically I’m talking about 3e
@@WeeknightHero ok I kinda thought it was for 3e just wanted to check I know a lot of people still play 2e
